SEE OUR DESIGN

Why is website design so IMPORTANT? These days, the web designing industry became an important factor in promoting a business or marketing a product. There are people who can actually do it with the help of internet but there are professionals who are working in a company that do services such as this. Due to the millions of users exploring the internet and are trying to find what they wanted in the comfort of their own homes, a lot of companies don’t want to miss the profits it can give them. You then need to have a well designed website to lure these users who are your prospect customers.

VemÖdalen 10

Billboards and print ads are a good source of promoting your product but people these days would rather choose to sit in their homes and search in the internet the things that they need. A prospective client would definitely check your website first and compare it with other sites before deciding to do business with you. In the competitive world of business online, it is imperative that you should hire the services of professionals rather doing the job on your own. It is because they can do better than you can and at the same time effectively create the website the way you

would want your customers to see it. The design of your website is important as it is your door to their interest. A user takes only 4 to 6 seconds to decide whether they are going to continue browsing your site or not. You need to take note that you are communicating with your prospective customers through your website. This is how significant a website is for every company. When you fail to com-

municate, it is going to be a loss of customer and an income as well.

MEET OUR

FASHION DESIGNERS

Our Seniors from Fashion Design show their latest project, and tell us about themself.

VemĂ–dalen 15

YESHIM SONAY, from Turkey, studied at university in Turkey before but she decided to come here for more experience.

Inspired by geometry. Trying show how to use couture, beading and geometry together as a minimal way.

VemÖdalen 16

She chose fashion because it is a part of her. She says, “I can’t live without designing something. And also I came from family who is interested in art very much. So, I was kind of born to be a designer”.

FANNIE QUEEN, born in Jakarta, Indonesia. Only 21 years old, Fanny has made her way through the industry, with clean cuts and minimal designs. As part of her final project, she gives us a sneak peek of her collection and what inspired her.

Here we present her newest collection called “Mind Game.” It relates with an optical illusion; it’s a really fun pattern to work with. The looks are basically black and white with an optical print on some of her master pieces.

Introduction To Drawing What is drawing ?

T

HE FORMATION OF A LINE BY DRAWING SOME TRACING INSTRUMENT from point to point of a surface; representation by lines; delineation as distinguished from painting … The arrangement of lines which determine form.

Materials

Use the Negative Space

D

rawing for beginners also means learning to see and to draw negative space as well as positive space. In other words, spend time drawing the shapes of the space around objects as well as the objects themselves. It sounds easy, but often times this basic drawing idea is hard to truly understand until you actually do it. But once you capture a few angles, the negative space will take as much prominence in your drawing as the object you are drawing. Continue working on negative space and other simple drawing techniques. Even if you never went to art school, learning to draw is completely within your grasp!

VemÖdalen 28

T

he medium is the means by which ink, pigment or colour are delivered onto the drawing surface. Most drawing media are either dry (e.g. graphite, charcoal, pastels, Conté, silverpoint), or use a fluid solvent or carrier (marker, pen and ink). Watercolour pencil s can be used dry like ordinary pencils, then moistened with a wet brush to get various painterly effects. Very rarely, artists have drawn with (usually decoded) invisible ink. Metalpoint drawing usually employs either of two metals: silver or lead. More rarely used are gold, platinum, copper, brass, bronze, and tinpoint.

Technique

A

lmost all draftsmen use their hands and fingers to apply the media, with the exception of some handicapped individuals who draw with their mouth or feet. Prior to working on an image, the artist typically explores how various media work. They may try different drawing implements on practice sheets to determine value and texture, and how to apply the implement to produce various effects.

Tone

S

hading is the technique of varying the tonal values on the paper to represent the shade of the material as well as the placement of the shadows. Careful attention to reflected light, shadows and highlights can result in a very realistic rendition of the image. Blending uses an implement to soften or spread the original drawing strokes. Blending is most easily done with a medium that does not immediately fix itself, such as graphite, chalk, or charcoal, although freshly applied ink can be smudged, wet or dry, for some effects. For shading and blending, the artist can use a blending stump, tissue, a kneaded eraser, a fingertip, or any combination of them. A piece of chamois is useful for creating smooth textures, and for removing material to lighten the tone.

Perspective

L

inear perspective is a method of portraying objects on a flat surface so that the dimensions shrink with distance. Each set of parallel, straight edges of any object, whether a building or a table, follows lines that eventually converge at a vanishing point. Typically this convergence point is somewhere along the horizon, as buildings are built level with the flat surface. When multiple structures are aligned with each other, such as buildings along a street, the horizontal tops and bottoms of the structures typically converge at a vanishing point.
