part one what have I learned
Week 1
#RelativeSizeOfThings
Taking pictures Very excited about participating in this mooc, the week started with one of my favorite activities: photography. My difficulty was -as always- the lack of proper equipment, since my smartphone proved to be not so “smart after all, and its camera sucked! But, as a designer and not (yet!) a photographer, I solve such problems with a little photoshoping.

#RelativeSizeOfThings just my scary eye looking through the peehole!

#ThingsWithNoName
I played around for a long time with this little piece of paper.. Excited to discover a new world under each folding, I had a hard time seeing it as a nothing. This became my frozen yet warm little cave.
Milk on dirty pavement. The nearby walkers must think that I was a crazy lady, pouring milk on the pavement and not letting the dog lick it.. nstead.. take some pictures of it!
#TVWithoutSignal
#MusicWithoutSound
The most annoying exercize!! My family’s digital TV.. I hate this gadget.. In my childhood I remember the old TV when it closed it made a strange bip sound and the picture would sink to a line that would gradually dissappear along with the bip! That is a big childhood memory as I somehow felt like I was killing whatever was inside there. This endless, silent blue nothing, seemed undying though, and it made me wanna sing my run away song: “echoes” by pink floyd.. My comment* was an ironic reference to that song.
It seemed very hard to try and express music without sound but as I was hitting my head on the wall to produce an idea, I saw my african love statue and something made a connection. A lovers embrace is music without sound for my soul
Week 2
#QuestionWithoutAnswer
Learning to sketch This week was about my nemecis: drawing. Since I was a little child I wanted to be able to draw well but I never reached the point where I could be able to express the vivid imagery of my mind in a piece of paper. In my personal explorations I had come across the book of ms. Betty Edwards and it had helped me a lot. I loved the weeks exercizes, but again I found myself strangling for the best picture instead of enjoying the exploration of lines and mind..

#QuestionWithoutAnswer My favorite persona! Gogol Bordello’s gypsy punk ukranian singer Eugene Hutz. Poor guy falling on my hands.. :)
#DoorsOfPerception
#SomePeopleTheyKnowThings
This was very difficult for me on my small (not so)smart phone.
That day I got lost in the leaves, it was so nice. I experimented a lot trying to get the feeling of their texture or their inside “nerves”, but nothing looked presentable to my eyes so I took the easy way out and drew a simple contour. Even this took a lot of practice. At the end I think I was measuring my hand’s movement in order to get the shape in the pic. What I learned later from my peer to peer evaluation, was that I just need to let go and create, instead of worry so much about presentability. All my evaluators said the same thing: “You were not supposed to look at your drawing!!”
#DaytimeNighttime
#PlayItByTrust
This was not very hard since I really liked this house and I checked it out a lot. The fact that it looks like a robot was a big help for me also :)
Again the same problem I had with the leaves. I tryed too hard and didn’t let go and it can be seen from my hand’s posture. It looks like it’s saying stop!
Week 3
#RomanceInManyDimensions
Making collages Collages.. Not an unfamiliar topic with my design studies, I thought it would be an easy task for me, and the first day I was very pleased with my result. What made it difficult was the repetition of the same exercize with different aspects. The next days were full of fustration and dissapointment, as opposed to the confidence I had at first. I didn’t give up though and my friday’s work left me unexpectedly pleased and happy with the result.

#RomanceInManyDimensions Yes this is me! A pink buble but with spikes watching over the fireflies road, waiting to start the next journey with all the other strange creatures along

#WhatMakesTheDesert
This is how I feel: ready to bloom out of my grey surrounding..
The place I am at: I feel like I’ve retired to a cave and built a fence around to keep the other cave-beings away from me for now.

Me at the place where I am: I live in the center of the second biggest town of Greece, Thessaloniki. It is actually a beautiful place to be, if you put aside the big ugly buildings that rose fast to house a lot of people coming from the country to find work in the fast growing industries after the war. Living in the center of the town, the sky is a very small part of my view, that’s why when I find time I run to the mountain just to view my city’s red sky!
Me at my place again: I may be in a box but I can still dream of sky and flying :)
Week 4
#ExcuseMeWhile
Observing the weather The chase of the app! This was my most relaxing week of all! It gave me the opportunity to work outside while walking my dog and I had much fun chasing her around to stop ruining my frames or angles! It was a “grey sky week but I enjoyed it more than sunny ones!

This is actually the lamp in me room. I am very happy with this rendering because the result looks exactly how I wanted it: lava hot and rays popping out!
This is a photo of a beautiful sculpture in Thessaloniki’s beach road: “the umbrellas”. It has been a landmark for my childhood meetings with friends and it still stands on. These umbrellas are covered with an iron grid so they are useless as umbrellas but perfect for my exercize!
#MyBusinessIs
#VoyageDansLaLune
Oh this video! Sitting on a bentch I left my phone filming the -what seemed to me- grey, silent and still sky. To my surprise the sky was not at all still.. and not quiet! Another world is shown in my video, where the clouds run fast and birds come and go where they please defying the agressiveness of the weather! Very exciting!
This is a sketch I made with my not-so-smart phone! This picture made me feel so sweet inside that I decided to put me on top trying to explore my new moon.

Week 5
#YourMindWill
Shaping diagrams “Your mind will answer most questions f you learn to relax and wait for the answer.” (William S. Burroughs) Very hard lesson for me but when it relaxed and answered, I was amazed! It had a lot to say again, though.. :)
#YouGottaHave
#OnesDestination
#IfYouStartToThink
#BeSureYou
# #YourMindWill My mind is not a quiet one (which one’s is) and it is very hard for me to quiet my thoughs or put them in order..
#YouGottaHave
#OnesDestination
I had so much fun with this one..
Well here is my dream place you see? It is in open space full of light and ergonomical and of course selfpowered!
#IfYouStartToThink
#BeSureYou
I really hope this is self explainatory! The body, represented here by the heart, is the fool, the one who will take the leap and is ready to feel, taste and live the world. The mind, the magician in his throne, is the one who takes the fool’s experiences and mix it with the alchemy of thought and create new things.
This is not so much a diagram really.. :( It does represent the relationship between my mind my body and my place though. My place is kind of dark and it makes me feel caged so my mind wanders of to find the light.
Week 6
#ALineIsADot
Drawing maps Here comes the hard part.. Defining my place and mapping it. Fun exercizes but the only thing I know about my place as I need it is that it needs lots of empty space and light

Not much to say here it is not a very interesting line but it reveals my place.. BIg space with five departments.
part two what have I learned from
others
part three my place..
..is my dome!
needs to be covered in my dome
Key features: * five equaly divided spaces. * see-through roof. * central bridge connects all spaces. * free energy and wifi!
