Madden Maritime

Captain Richard Madden is a actively sailing merchant mariner with over 20 years experience in the maritime industry. Madden Maritime was founded in 2011 based on the varied experience Captain Madden has accrued on government vessels, offshore towing vessels, tankers, container ships, coastal towing and general cargo vessels. Since graduating in 1990 from SUNY Maritime College at Fort Schuyler with a degree in Computer Science/Mathematics, he has obtained a USCG Unlimited Master’s license and Master of Towing Vessels, having sailed in all licensed deck positions including Master worldwide. Most recently, Captain Madden has gained extensive experience in the Gulf of Aden/Horn of Africa (GOA/HOA) area. As an actively sailing merchant officer, Captain Madden is familiar with current regulatory issues, documentation and best practices. He continues to train regularly with the Maritime Institute for Graduate Studies (MITAGS).
