7 SECRETS TO A PERFECT VEHICLE WRAP MADDOG'S AUTO STYLING
DESIGN
01
Car wrapping is not just like a business card where printing press is doing the things. It requires the right tools such as latest vehicle templates to install a car wrap design that will look perfect in your vehicle and also eye catchy. Every angel, spaces, curves must be taken into consideration and images should not be distorted or blurred while designing a car wrap.
MATERIAL
02
The combination of vinyl over laminate is extremely important. Many shops use 3D Cast vinyl wrap over a cheaper laminate to reduce the cost. The material you choose will determine the longevity and quality of the wrap. Cast laminate and Calendared laminate are two popular types of laminate used for vehicle wrapping.
PRODUCTION
03
Printing customized image on the vinyl is not as simple as Hp or Brother printer. There are a lot more tools needed in order to deliver a car wrap with sharp and vibrant images. Each manufacture’s design has its own unique code specifically created for a particular vinyl. You can't do it on your own unless you hire a printing company.
PREPARATION
04
This is the most time-consuming part of car wrapping. In this step, the installer has to inspect the surface of your car for cracks, trims, and dents. The car must be washed before the installation process. For this, a special solution is used first to wipe the car from any wax residue and after that alcohol is used to make sure that the solution has been removed. This is done to ensure that the vinyl adhesive will stick to the vehicle's surface.
INSTALLATIONÂ
05
Now that you have come a long way and have the best materials, design and perfectly prepared vehicle for the installation, all your efforts can go in vain if an inexperienced installer wraps the vehicle. The actual installation of the wrap is a challenging and crucial task. An installer must be able to trim and tuck the wrap to achieve a flawless finish otherwise, the final outcome may look terrible. Only an expert can do this job well.
06
POST INSTALLATION
The post-installation process involves using a heath-gun to go over the wrapped areas on curved edges to make sure that these reach a certain temperature as required. They need to reach 45° to 50° Celsius for solid color wraps, while for print media, it must be 85° to 90° Celsius.
FACILITY
07
To move ahead with, there is a question where will the actual installation take place? Indoor or outdoor? There is no way to avoid large and small dust particles away from the surface of your car if it is being installed outdoor. If wrapping is done indoors then the indoor facility must be super clean and at the right temperature.
