ENDURING STYLE: timeless designs and talented partners
Albert Sack
Like many of the magnificent pieces of furniture he found, appraised, bought and sold over the last seven decades, Albert Sack was himself an icon of the American antiques world. Known for his integrity, sagely advice, friendly demeanor and expert eye, he was routinely consulted until his passing in 2011 by anyone in need of advice or assistance from a top authority in American antiques. Sack graciously collaborated with Hickory Chair to design and produce a collection of versatile, Federal-style introductions that translates our nation’s proud heritage of perfectly proportioned and passionately crafted furniture into classics for modern interiors.

Hable® for Hickory Chair™
Sisters Susan and Katherine Hable® founded Hable® Construction in 1998. They named their textile design company after the road building business their great-grandfather founded in Texas in the early 20th century. Hable® Construction now means vibrant fabrics and utilitarian products built to last, just like their great-grandfather’s roads. As domestic production has always been of the utmost importance, Hable® has aimed to employ printers, creators, and manufacturers in the United States to transform their original paintings into fine textiles and products. This groundbreaking partnership between Hable® Construction and Hickory Chair is the first to pair an American textile brand with a domestic furniture
James River Collection
Since 1941, Hickory Chair has created classic forms inspired by the antiques found in the elegantly appointed interiors of plantation homes along the James River in Virginia. Now celebrating it's 75th year, this period collection recaptures the spirit and details that embodied genuine 18th-century design, including balance in scale, refinement in shapes and lines, intricate inlays and crisp carvings, acanthus leaves, shells, and ball and claw feet. Each James River piece is crafted to Old World standards and patinas are hand-rubbed to a depth that reflects lasting beauty and unmistakable personalization with every finish selection.
Mariette Himes Gomez
