FACT: There are 12 gas stations in a 10 block radius of UNL

FACT: UNL IS A FOOD DESERT
An issue dealing with urban areas that needs to be addressed is the problem of availability and accessibility to healthy foods. This issue is prevalent in today’s society with half of the population living in urban areas. There are few grocery stores in urban cities that carry healthy foods that are affordable, and even less options to reach these stores unless you own a car. However, accessibility to gas is virtually everywhere.
GAS:
Carbon monoxide from cars causes pollution and destroys the o-zone and causes acid rain and effects plant and animal life and travels up the food chain...to us (among other problems)
The United Nations defines food security as having access at all times to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to maintain a healthy and active life.
50.2 million Americans are food insecure
Of those, 17.2 million are children
THE QUESTION IS:
WHAT KIND OF FUEL IS MORE IMPORTANT TO US?
MY PROJECT:
design stamps that address our priorities.
