SUMMER DAY CAMPS 2020 FOR PRESCHOOL - GRADE 11 MADISONAREAYMCA.ORG/CAMP
R U O Y F ! O P L M L A A C M T FROENDS A FRI
We are gearing up for another wonderful summer at the Madison Area YMCA! Summer Camp is all about building friendships, having new experiences and creating life long memories. At Madison Area YMCA Summer Day Camps, we believe in the magic of summer and the depth of opportunities it can offer. We believe in providing a safe, energizing and fun environment where children and teens can be themselves and enjoy all that summer has to offer. We are so excited to announce the expansion of our traditional camp offerings at both our F.M. Kirby Children’s Center and Drew University! KidsQuest at Drew University now serves campers entering 1st to 2nd grade! We are also now serving campers entering kindergarten in our new KinderQuest Camp, an extension of KidsQuest Camp. We are so excited to give younger campers the traditional camp experience with a variety of fun and engaging activities. Also new this year at our F.M. Kirby Children’s Center, we are excited to introduce MiniQuest Camps. Our Learning Experience Camp is an academic-based camp that allows students to learn and grow through lessons in phonics, nature, music and more. Our Specialty Camps include skill-based theme weeks that allow campers to explore a variety of hobbies and interests each week. These camps serve campers entering kindergarten to 1st grade. And finally, for those little ones who are not quite ready for full day, we are pleased to offer a new preschool half-day camp as part of our MiniQuest Camps at our F.M. Kirby Children’s Center. Campers in our half-day program will also have the option to enroll in our extended care through our Kirby Center. From preschool through 11th grade, campers will have a great experience building character and independence through a variety of age-appropriate activities led by thoughtful, caring staff. Create, grow and explore this summer. Liz Kryznefski Quest Camp Director, MADISON AREA YMCA

THEME WEEKS Week 1: Fun and Games There’s no better way to start camp than to get active! This week we will bring the ‘fun’ by traveling to new locations, and bring the ‘game’ by challenging our friends in activities. This is a great start for new friendships and healthy competition. Week 2: It’s a Garden State Thing! We’re from New Jersey, so why not check out some cool spots where we live. Maybe we will find some places we never even knew existed! Week 3: Down by the River This is an action packed week of hanging on the river. Hopefully your arms don’t get tired because we will be doing some major paddling! If you’ve never tried water sports, you sure are in for an adventure. There will be an overnight at Stokes State Forest this week. Get ready to relax under the sun and build sand castles. Week 5: Create, Grow, Explore! It’s hard to step out of your comfort zone, but this is what this whole week is about! There’s no better way to face your fears than with friends. Who knows maybe you will try something you end up loving, like going on a roller coaster for the first time or swimming!
Week 6: Meet Me on the River This is the second week of river fun. If you weren’t here the first week you can expect some fun in the river and even the mountains! We will hike, paddle and swim. There will be an overnight at Stokes State Forest this week. Week 7: Adventure Time! Let’s get ready for some high pace speed! Whether we’re visiting an amusement park or getting competitive in some fun games, this week provides your summer with extra fun and maybe even stepping out of your comfort zone. Week 8: Let’s Get Some Vitamin Sea! Who doesn’t love the beach? We are lucky because we get two whole weeks’ worth! There’s nothing like getting some ice cream from the boardwalk and sitting on your towel and enjoying the waves. Get ready to visit a different beach every single day. Week 9: Ook’s Color War Challenge Get ready for a week-long COLOR WAR! Teamwork and the Y’s Four Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility bring you and your team to victory in a week of competitive games, challenges and adventures. The Madison Area YMCA can only provide this help through generous donations and special events such as our Annual Golf Classic. This event, held in June each year, helps to make our financial assistance program a reality offering assistance to everyone in need. For more information on the Annual Golf Classic and other ways to give, please visit: www.madisonareaymca.org/giving.
The Madison Area YMCA is a 501(c)(3) mission-driven nonprofit, committed to providing help to families who may not be able to afford the full price of camp. At the Y, we believe that every child should be able to enjoy the best summer camp experience possible. Financial assistance is available to families who qualify. However, spaces are limited. To be considered, families must submit required paperwork before completing camp registration. Assistance is available to anyone who resides or works within the Madison Area YMCA’s service area that can provide proof of financial need whether it is due to low income, recent unemployment or downsizing, disability, divorce, etc. Special circumstances and expenses may also be taken into consideration when determining an award. We ask that everyone pay a percentage of the total cost. Applicants who live outside our service area must first apply for camp assistance at the YMCA that serves their area. If denied, then the Madison Area YMCA will consider your application. (Proof of prior denial is required.)
