Royal The ultimate romance. The fairytale ending. This is the day you’ve been dreaming of since you lined up your stuffed animals and strode the hallway under a table-cloth veil. And while he may not have ridden in on a white stallion, he vanquished every obstacle and won your heart all the same, sweeping you off your feet. He is your Prince, and you his Princess. This is the stuff family lore is made of, and your day of days will live on in the stories and photographs for many years to come. So it has to be perfect, and there is nothing more perfect, more classic, more glamorous, than a Royal Wedding.

Royal Experience For the ultimate in Royal, Westminster Abby is a must. Closer to home, a horse and carriage will carry you into the horizon as you wave to friends and family. Royal Reception A timeless and utterly refined experience: beyond your wildest dreams in luxury and class. General Guidelines for Plus Bridal 1. Shop for fabrics with structure or with a structured base with the lighter fabrics layered on top. 2. Avoid heavy pleating 3. Look outside the traditional wedding dress! Shop vintage, or maybe reconstruct and/or redesign your mom’s or grandmother’s dress. 4. Buy a dress from a vendor whose seamstresses you feel confident in. Alterations are the one key difference between a regular white dress and a wedding dress giving your figure the couture experience.

When Shopping your shape consider the following: Pear Shape You’ve got great assets, whether or not you want to work it on your wedding day, here’s our tips for your shape: 1. A classic a-line shape is universally flattering but ideal for you. 2. shop for a skirt that flares out, and skims the hips. 3. Along those lines it helps to choose more structured fabrics like duchess satin, eyelet, and taffeta 4. The skirt part of dress should start from the smallest point of your waist, to highlight it. 5. A low v-neck, spaghetti strap, or strapless dress shows off your upper body and décolletage. Busty You’ve got it going on up-top, and while you want it to be classy, but it doesn’t hurt to show off your natural gifts. 1. A curved neckline or sweetheart (specially for strapless gowns) is perfect. 2. Wedding dresses that have embellished or shiny fabric over the bust will highlight the area more. 3. For extra support it’s important to shop for gowns which allow you to wear a supportive bra and has straps or sleeves. 4. Remember that its important to maintain and be mindful of how much bust is showing, for the Grandmas and Grandpas. Apple Shape Your ample goods do not have to inhibit your search for the perfect dress, we know you have a lot to show off. 1. A dress that highlights the smallest point in your waistline is ideal. 2. More detail on top: think rouching, lace, rhinestones..etc will balance you out and draw attention to your top. 3. Consider a shorter dress, you have the perfect figure for it, and they often go overlooked. It can show off your legs as well. 4. Corset shape (this was Aimee’s style of dress)

Happy Feet Make sure to have a few pairs of shoes to switch in and out of throughout the day. You will be on your feel All Day, don’t ruin it by spending it in pain. Change It Up Buy two dresses if you can, or one that alters from ceremony to reception. You will want to really be able to dance and celebrate with your shiny new Husband, and all your friends and family. Get The Shot Be sure to give a list to your photographer/videographer of all the pictures you want from the night so that the expectations are clear and you can sort through the haze of the day afterwards with all the great memories captured on film. Stop And Enjoy Take some minutes throughout the night to watch your friends and family enjoy themselves, capture some moments of your own. Its over before you know it, and sometimes the memories become a blur. Enjoy The Meal Have a friend, family, or bridesmaid set aside some food for you to eat in after the ceremony and before the pictures/reception. You will be starving if you wait all through the day to eat at the reception, which is often pretty hectic. You are the belle of the ball, after all. Otherwise, before you know it the day will be gone and you will be starving.

NIGHT LOOK Evening brides have the unique option of being a bit more sophisticated with their makeup. These ladies can still utilize spring trends by spotlighting the mouth in a gorgeous pimento color. Or using shades of shimmering orange or even rust on the eyes. Just remember sophisticated means keeping the rest of your makeup toned down in lovely neutrals.

DAY LOOK Taking inspiration from spring 2011 fashion week I have come up with a fresh new look for all the da ytime brides this year. Vibrant bursts of color were all over the runways this season and brides should not shy away from this optimistic approach to one of the most important days of their lives. The trick is to utilize color as an accent. Play up one feature, either eyes or lips with color. You are the bride so think about your comfort level when you decide on how vibrant or soft the color should be. Adapt the trend to suit your own taste. For instance, yellow and orange where used over and over again during the collections but those colors may not be your cup of tea. No worries, use eye shadows in soft lavender or sea foam green, as your accents of color. If your lips are your favorite feature, play them up with a bright matte pink or orange lip. If matte is too dramatic for you, then use a bight sheer gloss in orange, pink, or even purple for your accent of color. Although trends may come and go one thing will always be in fashion and that is gorgeous skin. Make sure yours stays healthy, hydrated, and naturally glowy. Perfect your skin first by using a great mask to unleash a natural glow. A great one to use is Dr. Brandt’s Detoxygen Experience. It will help you get the perfect wedding glow.

Beauty The brutal snow has all melted, and even the rain clouds are slowly clearing. It’s easier every day to imagine the day of your wedding, the season is upon us, and the clock is ticking down! Now that it’s all taken care of, all you have to do is show up and look gorgeous. We have a few tips for you in that department as well.

If gilded colors are your thing, choose pewter metallic for eyes and sheer lavender gloss for lips. Play around and find your comfort zone. Always remember to groom eyebrows and make sure you add lots and lots of lash. That could mean adding individual lashes to the outer corners of the eye or framing your eyes with a strip lash.

A Wedding Boutique Just For You

Wedding 2011 Credits

Robin Rose Parke started Curvaceous Couture after she got engaged. She actually took a portion of her wedding budget and started the business while she was planning her wedding. She figured at that time, while a size 14, that if she was having such issues finding items what were others, at her size or larger, going to do? Her story is like so many others we have heard from:

Produced & Designed by Madison Plus Written by Leona Palmer Beauty Section by Nicole Randelman

“I always dreamt of having a beautiful wedding gown. I had a nice budget. When I went to go look higher-end brands, I found out that most salons only carried their bridal gowns in a size 8 or 10. My sister ended up trying my wedding gowns on for me. It was very humiliating. [This was] something that me and my mother had looked forward to doing for years. It got to the point where I just didn’t want to go anymore; I kind of settled. I ended up with a gown that I was totally miserable with and until this day I hate looking at my wedding pictures. So many young ladies come in to Curvaceous Couture and they are just so happy that they can zip the dress up. Even if they are smaller and they have to pin the dress, they are in the dress. That’s what they appreciate. When they find that gown - just their excitement and the family’s excitement and the tears - it just gives me some piece, every day, of what I didn’t have.” - Robin Rose Parke, Curvaceous Couture Owner Be sure to visit Robin at Curvaceous Couture in Maryland or at curvaceouscouture.com.
