LANI PILLINGER, AN AUSTRALIAN-BORN

24/7 takes out the guesswork on the operating hours and activities in shopping malls during the holiday season.

Filipino is also known as one of the Philippines’ contestants to Amazing Race Asia whose tandem is called “The Party Girls.”

SM MALL OF ASIA

“I joined Amazing Race Asia to see if I can do it. I did not have big expectations but I became confident when our team started winning prizes,” says this former flight attendant, revealing a slight Australian accent.

Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, T: 556-0619, www.smmallofasia.com Nov. 27, Dec 4, 11, 17 to 23: 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM Nov. 26 to Dec 30: except above 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM Dec. 24 and 31: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM except Veranda dining tenants on Dec. 31: 9:00 AM till 1:00 AM Jan. 01, 2011: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Together with Aussie friend Jacinta “Jessie” James, she sent in a video for the show that would whisk her off to many exotic destinations, ironically, quitting her job that required her to travel all over the world. “Flying was not for me as the hours are too long and all that traveling eventually takes its toll on you.” But the show revealed a playful side of her to the judges. As soon as she walked in with her partner, the judges expressed how contagious the energy and vibe they both had. Her team was told that they also offered a lot of entertainment value, the X-factor in a reality TV show. Her interest in the show may also be related to her interest in TV production. She finished Film and TV at a university along the famed Gold Coast, and would like to get involved more behind the scenes work until she eventually becomes an executive producer. Right now she is enjoying her work with hosting jobs and has made the Philippines her base. Her energy and zest is evident in her interests and the activities she chooses. Last weekend she and fellow Amazing Race contestants hired a jeep, loaded it with drinks and turned it into a traveling bar with club music blaring and disco lights flashing. The group painted the town red visiting clubs like Kyss and Fiamma. With that energy and focus she brings into every activity, it will be no surprise for us to find her way ahead of the pack.

The Spa, a center for healthy and holistic spa services, opened its newest branch in Powerplant mall, Rockwell Center, Makati and has become the home of barre3, a revolutionary 60-minute class that is inspired by three disciplines: the grace of ballet barre, the wisdom of yoga, and the strength of Pilates. The routine improves balance, increases flexibility and strengthens your core for inch loss, long and lean muscles and a better posture. R2 Level, Powerplant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati T: 470-6868, 470-7878

The Spa Enjoy all the flavors of the world, whether it be from the Middle East or from Mexico, with a menu that reinterprets the classics at the Lu Restaurant. Their logo with a mirror image of the its name tells of the seeming contradictions in this restaurant. It is spacious yet homey. It’s location at the Rockwell Center but a few steps away from the mall makes it private, but at the same time accessible and convenient. The menu is for those who want an adventure and those who are looking for their favorites.
