Network Name The word “vibe” originated from the idea that music has the ability to evoke emotion from others. Music is universal and transcends language barriers. It’s a feeling one gets, a sensation or experience and when words fail, music speaks.

The network will appeal to both young and older audiences. Our goal is to unite the generations to one common ground, music. The branding of the logo will change depending on the program the viewer is watching. The use of color will allow the viewer to know which program they are watching.

Concept

Competitor Fuse is vibe’s main competitor. Fuse brings the audience closer to their favorite music artists and bands through exclusive interviews, live concerts, music news, photos and music videos. Fuse main audiences range from young teens to young adults. Vibe on the other hand has a wide range of viewer demograhics due to the wide range of programs shown on the network. Both old and young can enjoy the programs together.

Demographic 67.3% are between the ages of 10–19 54.5% are between the ages of 20–54 Vibe network will appeal to both younger and older audiences. The younger generation can tune in for the lessons being taught and the modern day take on classical music. Older audiences will tune in for the documentaries, interviews, and the classics.

Graphic Components Basic Animation: The bump demonstrates the classic black and white and incorporates the gradient red logo to give it a modern day feel Bug: Basic bump is found on the bottom left corner. It will appear during each show. Extended Bump: The extended bump gives the viewer a snippet of what the network offers and then transitions to the basic animation. Scheduling Lower 3rd: The lower 3rd will inform the viewer what is currently playing on the air. Scheduling Card: A scheduling card of what’s currently playing, up next, and later will be used to inform the viewer of what is to come.

Network Programs Live Music Program: Live performances will air through this program. The program will be split into classic and modern. Viewers will be able to watch orchestra performances as well as watching modern day instrumental musicians. Documentaries/Interviews: To get to know artists, viewers will have access to documentaires and interviews. Around the World: This program will feature music from other countries. Lessons: Viwers who wish to expand their musical knowlege can tune into the lesson program. Lessons range from reading notes and playing classic instruments such as the piano or violin. Music Production: This program will take the viewer behind the scenes of music production. Viewers will get an understanding of how concerts are made and how they are handled.

Initial Stages The logo had originally started off as vibrato. The word itself was difficult to work with, as a result it was shortened to vibe due to the flexiblity. Lines and shapes were used to explore the look and feel of the logo. I began to think of ways to incorperate musical elements such as notes and bars.

Final Stages The use of lines had compelled me to explore this route. The lines began to look like piano keys. They can also be in interpreted as guitar strings. I explored different line lengths as well as equal lines, but the one that had worked best was when the lines did not exactly line up.

Selected Color Palette The color palette is used to differentiate each of the programs found on the vibe network. Viewers will know what they are watching from the change in color. Vibe’s logo was originally red, but a gradient was used to give it a softer look. Red represents the youth and vibrancy of music.

The vibe network will feature classical music in both modern day and traditional settings. This classical music program will air live orchestra performances and modern day classical music from the younger generations. Throughout the day, the network will allow viewers to travel to different countries and explore their style of classical music. Not only will the network air live performances throughout the day, but we also incorperate a history lesson to allow viewers to understand where classical music began. The network will allow users to sream the content, that way viewers can tune in anytime.

When the user clicks on the menu button, there will be categories for the user to choose. They are broken into home, performances, lessons, music production, documentaries, and around the world.

Tablet The vibe network transitions to the tablet by having one video shown at a time on the screen. For the mobile, you can use infinite scroll to view videos one at a time. On both platforms, users have the ability to choose the most popular or most recent videos from the front page.
