A Message from the Chairman growth, development and opportunities for young black males in Middle Tennessee. Because of you and your support, we can continue to stay the course, doing all that we can to empower youth. This year marks an amazing milestone in the history of The 100 organization. We honor a journey filled with passion and vision that have changed lives forever. This year, we reflect on our Founders, those men who decided that the statistics on young black males had to be addressed and who put those thoughts to action.
T
hank you so much for joining us in celebrating this very special Gala. As Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, Inc. (The 100), it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 20th Annual Dinner Gala edition of MENTOR magazine, our official publication. Within these pages, we offer a glimpse of the activities of The 100. Our sincere hope is that our supporters and shareholders are honored in the programmatic successes we have enjoyed over the course of the past year. Our mission is to nurture and enhance the
The 100 will recognized the “2nd Annual Leg ends of Nashville”, honorees, Mr. Jack Bovender, retired Chairman & CEO of HCA, Hospital Corporation of America and Mr. Colin Reed, Chairman & CEO of Gaylord Entertainment. The 100 is proud to honor these community leaders who represent the ideals of The 100. Their lives and actions represent a profound awareness of responsibility, commitment, and community support. First group of Kings, we have decided to extend our 100 Kings Scholarship Program to 200 Kings! Without the charitable support of companies like Gaylord and Nissan as well as our numerous other corporate sponsors and program partners, it would be impossible for The 100 to maintain and extend its efforts to counter the lifethreatening disease known as under achievement. It is because of these pressing realities that each day we strive to offer our best to each young man and family we serve. Our sponsors provide invaluable resources that pave the way for amazing experiences facilitated by our members and staff. We publish this magazine and host tonight's black-tie affair, not to be boastful, but to delight in the satisfaction of knowing we can and do make a difference! We again thank our past and current contributors and partners who share in the vision of The 100. Having witness the positive effects of The 100's academic and social enrichment programs, we invite you to continue to support the Dream B.I.G. Scholarship Awards Program while “Believing in Greatness!” --Lee Molette, Chairman of the Board
