Au début du développement du SLS AMG, les ingénieurs et stylistes n’avaient qu’une seule consigne : laisser libre cours à leurs fantasmes automobiles. Le SLS AMG Roadster avec capote en tissu séduit par son design épuré, sa conception résolument légère et sa dynamique de marche supérieure, à l’instar de sa devancière – le SLS AMG Coupé – avec ses spectaculaires portes papillon.Le capot de près de deux mètres de long, ainsi que la cellule passagers basse et décalée vers l’arrière confèrent à la supersportive son charisme incomparable. The technological highlights of the SLS AMG Roadster read like an A-B-C of modern sports car engineering: the combination of an aluminium spaceframe body, an AMG 6.3-litre V8 frontmid engine with dry sump lubrication developing a peak output of 420 kW (571 hp) and 650 newton metres of torque, a seven-speed dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement and a sports suspension with aluminium double wishbones is guaranteed to make the hearts of sports car enthusiasts beat faster – while ensuring outstanding driving dynamics and roadster motoring pleasure. Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz, Gorden Wagener: “As in the gull-wing model, the purist, athletic design immediately captures the attention. Whether with the roof open or closed, the SLS AMG Roadster is an impressive visual delight!” The perfect proportions are particularly memorable: a long bonnet, the greenhouse positioned well to the rear and a short rear end. Plus the automatically extending rear aerofoil, long wheelbase, wide track and short overhangs. The pronounced shoulder sections are reminiscent of tensed muscles, and suggest sheer power in combination with the large wheels in size 265/35 ZR 19 (front) and 295/30 ZR 20 (rear). The attractive metallic paint finish AMG Sepang brown and weight-optimised forged wheels in a 10-spoke design, painted in matt black with a highsheen rim flange, are available as new optional extras. The interior continues the breathtaking design idiom of the exterior, and awakens associations with an aircraft cockpit: prominent stylistic features include the dashboard in the shape of a wing section and the air vents with adjustable, cruciform nozzles reminiscent of jet engines. The extended centre console of matt, solid metal and the new E-SELECT lever in the shape of an aircraft’s thrust control are also design features adopted from the world of aviation. Another discreet, fine detail is the embossed AMG emblem on the leather-lined selector lever. The sensual experience in the SLS AMG Roadster is enhanced further when the soft top is open, and the powerful, naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine with 420 kW (571 hp) and 650 newton metres of torque asserts itself and makes the heart beat faster with its typical AMG eight-cylinder sound. The fabric soft top can be opened and closed while on the move at up to 50 km/h; the fully automatic opening/ closing process takes only eleven seconds.

Apart from its folding hard top, these include the original 2+ concept which guarantees exceptional versatility of use in the rear of the car. The California’s 4,300 cc V8 engine features direct fuel injection and a “flat” crankshaft. It generates 460 CV at 7,500 rpm with a torque curve that enhances vehicle dynamics and provides maximum driving pleasure which is typical for Ferrari. As per the traditional Ferrari transaxle layout, the engine, which allows the Ferrari California to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds, will be coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that boosts the car’s performance while enhancing the driving pleasure, improves ride comfort and reduces fuel consumption and emissions (c.310 g/km CO2).

The Continental Supersports Convertible is the fastest, most potent drop-top Bentley ever built – 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h with a 630PS (621bhp/463kW) twin-turbocharged W12 engine. It is also the fastest four-seat convertible in the world. The Supersports is the extreme Bentley convertible, offering a highly focussed, pure Bentley driving experience. The standardisation of pioneering FlexFuel technology across the 2011 Continental model range reaffirms Bentley’s on-going environmental commitment to make all its cars biofuel‑compatible by 2012.

The comfort is further enhanced by a new multilink rear suspension system. The Ferrari California is also equipped with the exclusive F1-Trac traction control system which made its debut on the 599 GTB Fiorano and has been further honed to suit the typical driving conditions expected for this new GT. Brembo brakes featuring carbon-ceramic material disks as standard guarantee superbly efficient braking, together with optimised aerodynamics ensure that this is a highly ergonomic and enjoyable car to drive regardless of whether the top is up or down.

The inspiration for the ‘Supersports’ name is the 1925 Bentley Supersports, a race-bred version of the iconic Bentley 3-litre, that delivered 85bhp when more ordinary cars were equipped with a modest 15bhp. It was also the first production car to reach 100mph – extreme performance in its day. Satin-finished carbon fibre, Alcantara™ and ‘Soft Grip’ leather create a unique ambience with a distinctly sporting and contemporary style. The new GranCabrio Sport is the natural successor to a model that is already part of Maserati history. Extending the range with a version that is even more dynamic and sporty is typical of our marque’s philosophy. The GranCabrio and GranCabrio Sport are similar in spirit but with different detail. They have been created to offer customers the opportunity to choose the model that best meets their needs. The GranCabrio Sport takes a significant development in Maserati’s history one step further as it extends our range of true four-seater convertibles. The car oozes power and hints at its potential through its unmistakable styling which sets it apart from its rivals. On winding stretches of road, it will appeal those who enjoy a more sporty ride thanks to its dynamic handling that ensures a safe yet rewarding drive.

The Virage Volante is mechanically identical to the coupe, aside from its insulated fullypowered cloth top. That means it gets a V12 rated at 490 horsepower and 420 lb-ft. of torque. A six-speed Touchtronic II automatic transmission backs up this droptop’s mission as a grand touring sportster. A manual transmission won’t be on offer.

The GranCabrio Sport is rooted in solid Maserati foundations: we have created convertibles for well over half a century and they have all been met with critical acclaim for their class and performance. In the sixty years since our first convertible the motoring world has undergone a profound transformation. However, some things haven’t changed: one of these is the pure joy that comes from climbing into a refined cabin and gripping a steering wheel emblazoned with the famous Trident. This pleasure evolves into excitement when the engine bursts into life and a new journey begins. The Maserati GranCabrio Sport is a sporting convertible that has none of the limits usually associated with this type of car. Building on Aston Martin’s tried-and-true VH all-aluminum architecture, the Virage Volante follows the automaker’s recipe for success. It sits low to the ground with a style derivative of the automaker’s post-DB7 offerings, although a front fascia inspired by the more aggressive One-77 helps usher in a new era of style to the company’s two-doors. Like the hardtop, the Volante features the automaker’s signature “swan swing” doors, which rise upwards as they are opened. The doors reveal an interior likewise similar to other Aston Martin products. Swathed in highend Bridge of Weir leather, the interior does feature a number of upgrades centered around a new infotainment system with a 6.5-inch high resolution display. Aston Martin says that the control setup has been greatly simplified.

PORSCHE 911 TURBO S CABRIO

The 997-flavored twist on the ultimate “neunelf” is fed with 530 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels from its twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat six. The regular, and now useless, non-S 911 Turbo makes do with an inadequate 500 hp and 480 lb-ft from the same engine, although it can match the 516 pounding feet of the Turbo S via an overboost function. The creation of the S involved revising the engine software to pump up the maximum boost from 11.6 psi to 14.5, which just so happens to be the figure made during the Turbo’s overboost function. No engine internals were changed. The S gets as standard several key performance options from the “base” Turbo’s list of extras, including carbon-ceramic brakes, a torque-vectoring function for the stability control, Porsche’s excellent seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, and the Sport Chrono Turbo package. The latter includes an on-dash chronometer, dynamic engine mounts, and a Sport Plus button for the PDK gearbox. The magical Sport Plus button alters shift response and throttle calibrations, and also allows for a launch-control function, which enables a PDK-equipped 911 Turbo to execute the 0-to100-ph sprint in an eyeball-melting 2.9 seconds. We’re sure the Turbo S will knock off at least a tenth or two from that time, and it’s rumored that Porsche is askong buyers to sign a waiver assuming all risks and penalties associated with being mistaken for an intercontinental ballistic missile. Top speed is an ICBM-like 315 kph.

The Aston Martin One-77 is a supercar with a name as unique as its style and approach to performance. While smaller engines being force-fed copious amounts of air via super and turbochargers is the new craze in the auto industry, Aston Martin decided to take a decidedly old school approach to the One-77 and its massive, naturally aspirated 7.3-liter V12. The One-77’s naturally aspirated 7.3-liter V12 is derived from Aston’s 6.0-liter powerplant, but with power upped to a massive 750 horsepower with torque checking in at 533 lb-ft. Even more impressive is the fact that Aston Martin and Cosworth engineers sought out to decrease engine weight by 10 percent while bumping its displacement by 1.3-liters, but instead actually achieved a 25 percent weight reduction. The end result of the impressive tinkering by Aston Martin and Cosworth engineers is the ability to say the One-77 is the most powerful naturally aspirated (non super or turbocharged) road car on the planet. But the powertrain advancement doesn’t stop there, that beastly powerplant is then mated to an all-new six-speed sequential manual - or in other words, an automatic with paddle shifters mounted to the steering wheel. This transmission was designed exclusively for the One-77, marking a new generation of transmission for the automaker. new generation of transmission for the automaker. Power is then transferred to the ground via Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (255/35 ZR20 front, 335/30 ZR20 rear) developed specifically for the One-77. Behind the 20-inch wheels are lightweight Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes with caliper internals that have been re-engineered to transmit less heat from the brake pads into the brake fluid, while the discs themselves have been developed to ensure the maximum possible contact area between the face of the disc and the brake pads. Aston Martin says that due to the One-77’s sky-high performance aspirations, special attention has also been paid to brake cooling, as the brakes have less time to cool between bursts of acceleration. The brakes also get a break due to the relatively low weight of the car, which comes in at 3,300 lbs. The result is improved handling and stopping power, zero-to-60 sprints of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed north of 200 miles per hour. Dimensionally, the One-77 is shorter than the DB9, lower than the Vantage and has a track of six and a half feet – only eight inches narrower than a Hummer H1. Another incredibly unique aspect of the One-77 is the exclusivity and uniqueness about the car. Only 77 examples (hence the name) will ever be built, with no two cars being exactly alike thanks to a customization system befit of a seven-figure supercar. This daunting “one-off” approach presents a very unique challenge to Aston Martin as they must find a way to truly differentiate 77 examples of this single model in order to remain true to their promise.

The new 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is a thoroughbred vehicle, uncompromisingly optimised for handling, with the performance of all vehicle components, including the suspension and aerodynamics, specially synchronised. Its true performance potential is especially evident on racing circuits: It makes it round the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 7:27 minutes. With its gearing designed for the racing circuit, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, available exclusively with a six-speed sports transmission, reaches the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark in under 12 seconds. The 911 GT3 RS 4.0’s outstanding driving dynamics are the fruit of meticulously coordinated details. In addition to using the suspension components typically encountered in motor racing, weight reduction is also of supreme importance. Equipped as standard with lightweight components such as bucket seats, bonnet and front wings made of carbon fibre, plastic rear windows and weight-optimised carpets, the two-seater’s ready-for-road weight is a mere 1,360 kilograms with a full tank of fuel. At 2.72 kg/hp, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0’s power-to-weight ratio thereby dips below the magical threshold of three kilograms per hp. The limited 911 edition is painted white as standard and emphasises its proximity to motor racing by its dynamic appearance. Trademark characteristics are the wide track, the low vehicle position, the large rear wing with adapted side plates, the typical central twin tailpipe and the aerodynamically optimised body. The lateral front air deflection vanes, so-called flics, making their first appearance on a production Porsche, testify to the aerodynamic precision engineering. They create increased downforce on the front axle and together with the steeply inclined rear wing bring the vehicle into aerodynamic equilibrium.

Après le succès de la R8 GT, Audi confiirme la sortie de sa version découvrable. La recette est la même avec une augmentation de puissance de son V10, un allégement de la caisse et une production limitée à 333 exemplaires. Audi reprend donc la base du R8 Spyder V10, mais les ingénieurs de la marque aux anneaux font grimper le V10 5.2 litres à 560 chevaux et 540 Nm de couple. De plus les nombreuses modifications sur les matériaux font économiser 85 kg de masse par rapport à la R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro. Ce qui donne un poids de 1640 kg. De quoi faire passer la R8 Spyder GT de 0 à 100km/h en 3,8 secondes et la vitesse maximale à 317 km/h. Pour garder la bête au sol les suspensions ont été adaptées ainsi que le châssis qui a été rabaissé de 10 mm. La R8 GT Spyder garde la transmission intégrale avec le Quattro calibré pour favoriser les roues arrière. L’ESP dispose aussi d’un mode Sport pour profiter pleinement du potentiel de la voiture sur circuit. Un bolide à maîtriser avec une boîte robotisée R tronic à six rapports. La R8 GT Spyder se distingue avec un look encore plus tranchant que les versions de série. Le bouclier avant est entièrement retravaillé, et il reçoit des feux à LED camouflés par des optiques assombries. Un diffuseur plus imposant et, surtout, un becquet dominant la poupe parachève le style. La capote se plie et déplie en 19 secondes et ce jusqu’à une vitesse de 50 km/h. Dans l’habitacle c’est le noir en finition Alcantara qui domine, mais Audi laisse la possibilité d’en changer l’intérieur moyennant finance. Pour l’assise Audi fait confiance à des baquets avec châssis en composite de fibre de carbone.

For the first time ever, the fastest C-Class is also available in coupe form. The AMG 6.3-litre V8 delivers exceptional power, the sports transmission and suspension help you exploit it to the full – and let you switch between performance - and comfort - biased set-ups. The C 63 AMG delivers 457 hp (336 kW) at 6,800 rpm, plus 600 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, with in excess of 500 Nm available all the way from 2,000 to 6,250 rpm. The AMG Performance Package increases output to 487 hp (358 kW), enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a breathtaking 4.3 seconds.

Although the BMW M3 GTS differed from the base M3 in virtually all parameters relevant to motorsport – adjustable aerodynamic body components front and rear, 100 kg less weight, a modified suspension and brake setup – the power increase of 30 hp to 450 hp turned out to be somewhat reserved.

The high-revving V8 power unit of the BMW M3 GTS has proven itself as the ideal starting point for the forced induction technology practiced by G-POWER with ASA superchargers. Because the engine with a 10% greater displacement of 4.4l has got even larger reserves that can be used for an additional output increase than the 4.0l standards M3 power unite, that has successfully managed full throttle test bench drives for more than 350 hour non-stop and therefore is rightly well-known for its durability.

Comparativement au modèle sortant, la puissance a augmenté de 10%, le couple a grimpé de 30% alors que sa consommation d’essence a diminué de plus de 30%, ce qui est encore mieux que le 25% qui avait été promis lors du dévoilement de Shanghai. Malheureusement pour nous, la rumeur voulant que la nouvelle mouture de la M5 fasse appel à la transmission intégrale n’était que fumée, du moins pour l’instant.

La furie du moteur sera une fois de plus distribuée aux roues arrière par une boîte à double embrayage de sept rapports. Cette dernière pourra par ailleurs être manipulée par des palettes intégrées au volant. Sa tenue de route sera assurée en partie grâce à un différentiel à glissement limité Active M, une direction assistée Servotronic, le contrôle de stabilité (DSC) et un système de freinage hautement performant qui seront certainement en mesure de garder les jantes enveloppées de pneus de 19 pouces bien collées à l’asphalte. L’habitacle profitera d’une console centrale en cuir redessinée, de sièges sport, de garnitures en cuir et en aluminium, d’un climatiseur automatique à quatre zones et de lumières ambiantes. Soulignons également que la plupart des options offertes pour les berlines de Série 5 seront disponibles, des sièges multifonctions jusqu’au coffre à ouverture automatique.

This spectacular and contemporary 41 metre masterpiece has been designed with a strong emphasis on space and light and has five suites for up to 12 guests at any one time who will be looked after by a permanent, highly trained crew of seven to cater to their every need. The internal planning of the yacht offers total flexibility to respond to the most discerning requirements of the owners and their guests and keen attention has been paid to design and detail ranging from the internal and external areas to cutlery, crockery, fabrics and crew uniforms. All furnishings and fittings are provided by the Italian manufacturer Cassina and kitchen and galley equipment by Schiffini. Special attention was paid to the quality of light and views, with all major areas of the yacht benefiting from forward-looking views, including the master suite that has two private balconies forward. Much thought went into making the yacht user-friendly for families and children. On the engineering side, the technological prowess of the Italian Rodriquez yard successfully combined the Foster design concept with the requirements of a fully MCA compliant ocean-going vessel. Foster + Partners’ interiors for the 40 Signature series have been created with an eye on beauty, function and luxury, right down to the smallest detail.

They have reconfigured traditional superyacht interiors to create a fresh style that is contemporary, technologically advanced and timeless. Taking advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows and wide views. Foster + Partners has created a sense of continuity between the outside areas and interior spaces. On the main deck, solid teak wood continues indoors through the length of the spacious saloon (538 sq ft / 50 sqm) while the panoramic saloon on the upper deck has coconut husk fibre flooring, evocative of the laid-back interior style of a beach hut. On the lower decks the cabins’ walls follow the rounded profile of the hull and are inset with lights, showing to best effect the unique ‘eggshell’-curved living spaces. The superyacht is flooded with natural light on each of the four decks, which are in turn connected by a transparent glass spiral staircase. LANCEMENT FERRARI FF Scuderia Monte-Carlo

Le 5 mai 2011 Scuderia Monte-Carlo - distributeur officiel de Ferrari à Monaco - a inauguré son showroom au 5 de l’avenue Princesse Grace à Monaco. Reflétant la nouvelle image de Ferrari, il met en avant les voitures au sein d’un écrin aux lignes épurées, tout en conservant l’histoire et les valeurs de la marque italienne. Pour l’occasion plus de 350 personnes sont venues et elles ont pu découvrir par la même occasion la dernière Ferrari FF présentée par Enrico Galiera directeur commercial et marketing Ferrari Monde. Cet engouement lors de la soirée pour le showroom et pour la FF en particulier semble être un bon présage pour Scuderia Monte-Carlo.

Avec l’arrivée des beaux jours, Aston Martin Cannes en partenariat avec Jaeger Le Coultre Cannes et Bang & Olufsen Le Cannet, ont eu envie de réunir autour d’une coupe de Champagne De Castelnau ses amis et très Chers Clients pour célébrer tous ensemble la fête de la musique le mardi 21 Juin dernier. Chaque partenaire a profité de cette occasion pour présenter leurs nouveaux modèles 2012. Nos invités ont pu admirer devant la concession Royal Motors Cannes la première Vantage S ainsi que la petite nouvelle icône de la marque Aston Martin : la citadine de luxe Cygnet !!

GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2011 Principauté de Monaco

Il en rêvait. Il l’a fait. Sebastian Vettel a intégré le prestigieux club des lauréats du Grand Prix de Monaco. Toujours sur son petit nuage, là-haut, où sont désormais empilés cinq succès et 143 points (sur 150 possibles !), le champion du monde en titre est parvenu à repousser les assauts d’une concurrence particulièrement féroce. Une semaine après l’épique duel catalan remporté aux dépens de Lewis Hamilton, c’est une époustouflante guerre des trois qu’il a gagnée en Principauté. LAUNCH OF MCLAREN’S RETAIL NETWORK London

McLaren London, 21 June 2011: McLaren Automotive opened the doors to its first dedicated McLaren retailer, McLaren London, with a star-studded celebration at its One Hyde Park, Knightsbridge location on June 21. By the end of 2011, McLaren will have 35 bespoke retailers in 19 countries worldwide. All have been carefully selected by McLaren to offer the best in customer sales and service for a range of highperformance sports cars, beginning with the ground-breaking McLaren MP4-12C.

FESTIVAL OF SPEED Goodwood, UK

With the annual Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show now over for another year, Goodwood is reflecting on a truly exceptional weekend, which attracted a record 181,000 motor sport and car enthusiasts, as well as more than 100 star racing drivers and riders.

The opening, hosted by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, and McLaren Group and McLaren Automotive Executive Chairman, Ron Dennis, celebrated ‘Defining Moments in Time’. Recognising the launch of the global network of McLaren car retailers, and the arrival of the first ‘pure’ McLaren sports car, the event also presented past McLaren track successes with iconic trophies and two of Lewis Hamilton’s race-winning Formula 1 cars.

Celebrated drivers tackling the Festival hillclimb included Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, John Surtees and Sir Stirling Moss, making his first public appearance behind the wheel since announcing his retirement from competitive motor racing a few weeks ago.
