began to pay attention to a more personal and creative taste of life in the pursuit of material comfort and also in an open-minded and beautiful soul. So, many women magazines had to change their aims, from previous fashion enlightenment, to provide a more practical fashion consumer information, and to focus on women’s self development and perfection. Modern women’s fashion magazines have increasingly started to input local characteristics, language and content in order to increase a selffeeling and pay attention to women’s physical and mental development. “MAGAZINE & MORE”, is a magazine that has in its main core the wellness, and so, it’s our aim to promote creative and personalized ideas to help women to enrich and improve themselves in order to achieve that wellness. Our readers are urban happy women, who have the pleasure of living in the pursuit of quality of life and enjoyment for their lives; avid of novelties and ease to accept new things, they have an international perspective, and the power and ability to control their life trend. All things change and the information that is requested by the modern women are no longer confined to the basic needs. With that thought in mind we prepared a wide range of information and tips about all aspects of fashion, trends, beauty, skin care, leisure, health, life enjoyment, and many other information to upscale their daily lives, meeting the expectations of the new generation of female readers. Crop of the top All ranges of crop top have been exposed for the past few seasons. And yes, midriff is making a comeback this season, again. Some girls are terrifying about it, but there’s no fear in fashion! A lot of us spend five days a week, 8 or longer hours a day in a corporate office, so some may think a crop top really isn’t a worthwhile investment for the wardrobe. But here’s the tip for getting over the fear and how to wear it smart. It’s very simple, just remember you don’t have to be brave to bare, you just have to wear it smart! You can wear it right by pairing up with a high- waist full skirt. It only gives just a glimpse of skin and it can hide our little belly. So if you are a dainty working lady, try the crop top trend with high- waist bottoms or skirt. Bear in mind, crop tops don’t have to bare it all! (Unless you want to show them off) instead of more abs- flashing, showing a glimpse of skin or layer proposals for abbreviated skirts can look way sexier and you’ll get that barely- there sliver of exposed midriff.

Double Blue There’s one fashion rule that never fades out of fashion, and that is your denim! Denim is sure one of the must- have for our wardrobe, and I can’t think of anyone that does not own a pair of denim jeans? I call it the ‘without so much effort’ look but yet, still look stylist and chic. Girls, look at the latest lineups from labels like Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Christopher Kane, Jason Wu and Jean Paul Gaultier brimmed with casual yet cultivated, light washed denim looks. Where to start? Try black darker blue jeans/ skirt and a blue denim jacket is a good place to start when experimenting with double denim. The change in colour from top to bottom means you will get a subtle double denim look that most people won’t even realize. Or, if you’re feeling a bit adventurous you can match the acid wash jeans with an acid wash jacket so you wear the same kind of colour palette head to toe. To finish off, match it with a pair of pointy high heels and there you go! - An effortless weekend look!

Print illusion Working prints in the colder months is a fantastic way to put a spring in your step, and there is a clever but simple way to make them relevant to the rest of your winter wardrobe: look out for prints on darker backgrounds. This could be black, navy, olive green, burgundy red - whichever colours you feel good in – then just go for the brightest (or most subtle!) designs you like. You can try different abundance graphic and bold print for Resort 2014, exciting to try mixing different scales of prints in one ensemble. Fear about prints that would make your body looks too big or too small? Here’s the theory for wearing print: Small makes you big and big prints makes you small. For example, you can wear a small repetitive prints top to emphasis your curves (because small prints can make a part of your body look larger as more prints fit onto one area). Also, it can maximize your assets and balance out a larger lower half. In the other hand, larger prints will make your body look smaller – so why not use this to flatter an area in a bright, uplifting and feminine way? Of course, these guidelines are only theories – look for prints you love and try them out. Rules are made to be broken and if a print makes you feel good, it works!

Macau is walking itself in the fashion scene industry’s global competitive runways one little step at a time through the annual Macau Fashion Link (MFL) organized by Albergue SCM and co-organized by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM). Besides giving the opportunity to our local designers to cater their talents and viable but extraordinary pieces to the end consumer, it also helps in their internationalization among Asian Markets and Portuguese speaking countries creating an interchange between them and designers from regional countries like Portugal, Angola and Brazil. Started as a simple fashion event showcasing amateur designers from the city alone, it then boomed as one of the pageant of the local cultural creative industry, hence, the event called “The L Show” which was recently held last November 30 2013 at Albergue SCM. Macau Fashion Link 2013 is a unique initiative that aims to promote and encourage local talent and industry to develop their potential and opportunities in the fashion business both in Macau and throughout the Pearl River Delta. The show also aims to provide exposure and opportunities for our local designers and aspiring models.

澳門特別行政區政府近年銳意發展文化創意產業，而服裝的設計製作則是文創產業的重點項目。澳門生產力科技轉移中心 (CPTTM)作為這一領域的推動者，傳承了本澳成衣製造的歷史，又不斷轉型創新。中心和澳門仁慈堂婆仔屋舉辦“澳門時裝領薈”(MFL)，積極帶領本地時裝設計品牌走出澳門。舉辦澳門時裝領薈的宗旨是推廣及展示澳門時裝設計行業的發展機遇，協助本土服裝設計師與海外業務者合作交流，進而推動澳門產業多元化。除了給予本土設計師機會，滿足他們的才華，以及創造出非凡的作品給消費者，它也有助於增進亞洲市場和葡萄牙，安哥拉，巴西等葡語系國家設計師的心得交流。剛開始，澳門時裝領薈只是一個簡單的城市時尚活動，很快地它發展成地方文化創意產業的盛會之一。這個簡稱為“L展”的活動在2013年11月30號的仁慈堂婆仔屋舉行。特區政府致力於發展文化創意產業，擬透過時裝節專業展覽推廣澳門時裝設計，為澳門及珠三角地區有潛力的設計師與模特兒提供曝光機會，促進與海內外時裝業人才交流，吸收最新時尚訊息，協助本地時裝設計邁向亞洲，走向國際。

Macau Fashion Link does not merely produce a runway show but also includes fashion seminars from its fashion delegates. Last December 1, as part of their event, MFL also organized a style forum about fashion design methodologies of the 5 designers; China’s Nicole Lin & Victor Zhu, Mozambique’s Marinela Rodriques, Angola’s Louis de Gama and Portugal’s Sara Lamurias. The designers from 5 different backgrounds and countries shared their experiences in the industry and unique methods on the fashion design process. Now on it’s second year, 2013’s MFL was out of it’s comfort zones and presented both local and regional designs in a stylish pop-up shop format which is a popular practice of what is also known as a pop-up retail in Canada, The United Kingdom, Australia and The United States. Every designer had their own very personal touch when it comes to producing the garments that was used in the actual runway show. “My inspiration is the theme of spring and romance. I used mostly fabrics which have florals and pastel colors. I focus on working with the shades of pink, green and silver. However I add contrasting idea to further stand out. I used geographic lines, architecture shapes and lines.” Isabela Choi (Nega C) said. It was also somehow a way of showing the seasons of Macau has every year. All collections presented a certain season;Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall “My collection is about easy summer look. I worked on jerseys because they have the potential to create drapes and simple patterns like squares and triangles.” Carmen Leng (Common Coma) said. Basically, Pop-up shops is more on the commercial side of fashion which establishes the connections between the local design scene and the emerging market which demands products of high quality and unique style.

街道支柱澳門時裝領薈不僅僅是一個時裝秀，也包括時尚代表的時裝研討會。作為活動的一部份，去年12月1日，MFL整合了五位設計師，並舉辦一場探討不同風格時裝設計方法的論壇。這五位設計師分別是：中國的 Nicole Lin，Victor Zhu，莫桑比克的Marinela Rodriques，安哥拉的Louis de Gama以及葡萄牙的Sara Lamurias。這五位來自不同國家和背景的設計師，分享了他們的職業經驗以及在時裝設計過程中所運用到的獨特理念。邁入第二年，2013的MFL打破以往的常規，採用在美、加、英、澳等先進國家很流行的快閃店(POP-UP SHOP)，展示自己區域獨特的設計理念。當運用到實際的時裝秀時，每個設計師則皆有自己關於潮流的不同觸覺。 “我的靈感來自於春天所呈現出來的浪漫感作為主題，使用了大部份柔和的色彩，帶有花香的織物。專注在粉色，綠色和銀色之間的色調創作。添加對比調充的方法，使其更加突出。用地域和建築形狀線條來作襯裏。”Isabela Choi (Nega C) 說。這也在某程度上，表現出澳門四季的不同景象。每個系列呈現出春，夏，秋，冬的一定細節。 “我的系列是簡易的夏天風格。我創作素材多半是運動衫，因為它便於製造簾子和三角形和長方形等簡單花樣。Leng (Common Coma)說。實際上，快閃店對於時尚的商業面向有更多助益，確立了本地設計界和新興市場的需求，提供高品質和獨特風格的產品之間的鏈接。

The shop includes original stylish pieces from Macau’s BARBARA DIAZ, Av Atelie, Cocoberryeight, Lines Lab, Nega C, Common Coma, China’s VMAJOR Mozambique’s Marinela Rodrigues, Mozambique’s Marinela Rodrigues, Portugal’s AFOREST DESIGN and Angola’s Louis de Gama. During the days that these shops will be open, there will be a designer’s room day, dedicated to each designer where walk in audience can buy their creative garments with 25% discount.

While many of the people in Macau longs for more than just a onenight event fashion show, Macau has yet to prove itself for the more demanding and eventful FASHION WEEK like of that in Tokyo, New York and Milan. Though it is such a blur to picture out this possibility because it is hard to find the best fabric in Macau and also the lack of human resources to produce the pieces, thus having such Macau Fashion Week can attract buyers, businessmen and boutiques to come see our clothes and eventually improve the quality of market in Macau and factories will again be opened. Since 2006, The Macau Fashion Association is already a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association and had requested to enter the World Fashion Organization, to attract more tourists, hence also developing tourism and fashion at the same time.

If eating healthy is on your “to-do” list this holiday season, don’t worry. With planning and nutritional information, there are easy ways to eat healthy during the holidays, and still enjoy some of your favourite seasonal foods. Don’t panic! Help has arrived to give you those all essential tips not only get you through the Holiday Season but to prepare you for the new Year and the new You! This Issue will be covering three topics: The Food, The Drinking and The Exercise.

Now the Drinking, alcohol palces second but not by much! Here are the top tips you should follow: Sugar rush: Avoid sugar filled sprits. You don’t want to add extra calories to alcohol! Keep away from the Cocktails!; One at a time: Don’t drink alcohol during your meals. After you are full the ammount of alcohol you are able to drink are drastically reduced Pace youself: The night is long and you don’t want to be going home at the end of the dinner! Simple colors: Try not to mix alcohols, this is not because of the calories in them, but you will thank me the next day! Choose your Poison: • Beer: 182 Calories • Baileys: 121 Calories • Champagne: 91 calories • White wine: 89 Calories A great tip, and this is a “just IN CASE “ a big glass of water goes a long way. Make sure you go to bed hidrated and avoid the massive headache that can follow a holiday night out! Last but not least, The Exercise! Ladies, exercising the excess calories you ate for Christmas or drank for New Years is NOT 2 hour bouts at the Treadmill! To tone up and firm up you need to wake up those muscles! I will leave you with my Holiday Workout but before that here are my tips: Mix it up!: Get Cardio and weight Training in. Warm up with a 10 minute Cardio exercise (Treadmill, Eliptical or the Steps); Raise up the Heat: That means HIGH INTENSITY! Leave all iPads, Magazines and if you can, you phone in the Locker Room! The World won’t end if Facebook is left alone for an hour. You are there with a Goal, to Train..so Beast Mode Engaged! Breaking miths: Girls, Weights DO NOT make women huge, cupcakes do.

接下來是飲料的部份，下面是你該遵循的重點：糖：糖類充斥的烈酒是一項大忌。如果你不想在喝酒時額外增加卡路里，切記遠離雞尾酒遠一點！該喝酒時才喝酒：用餐時不要飲酒。當你肚子吃飽的時候酒量會急劇下降。調整自己：晚上的節目還是很豐富的，誰也不想在晚餐結束時就回家！儘量單一：不要混酒喝，這並不是因為它們帶來的熱量，尤其第二天醒來你會感謝我的！好吧，下面來看看你們的酒精熱量。 • 啤酒：182卡路里 • 百利：121卡路里 • 香檳：91卡路里 • 白葡萄酒：89卡路里還有一個重要建議，當然這只是“以防萬一”。派對後飲用一大杯水，這能避免第二天醒來的頭痛，並且讓你繼續在假日的夜晚保持活力！最後，值得一提的是：運動！女士們，要把聖誕假日內累積過多的卡路里減掉，絕對不是在跑步機上跑兩小時就可以的，想要真正達到效果你必須喚醒那些肌肉！因此在聖誕假期來臨前，我會留下一些小訣竅：混合鍛鍊：有氧運動和重量訓練。由10分鐘有氧運動熱身開始(利用跑步機或橢圓機等健身器材) 提高熱量消耗：意即提高你運動的強度！把你的 ipad，雜誌，如果可以的話，電話也鎖在儲物室里！就算沒上一小時Facebook世界也不會停止運行。你在這裡只有一個目標，那就是運動、減重！打破迷思：女孩們，記住！一個女人看起來很大隻並非完全是因為體重，但是跟杯子蛋糕絕對有關係！

It can be a challenge to maintain healthy habits during the holiday season. Balance indulgence at family gatherings and holiday parties by attempting to eat healthy the remainder of the time. Make sure your regular weekly meals include plenty of Protein, vegetables and Fruits and stock up on healthy snacks. In addition to making wise nutritional choices, remember to stay active and work some exercise into your busy holiday schedule. B: Dra. Rita Santos, can you summarize what represented to you these 10 years of the Forum Macau? R: This year is the 10th anniversary of the Forum Macau. I started at the Forum since his origins in March of 2003 where the “Gabinete de Apoio a Organização do Fórum para a Cooperação Comercial entre a China e os Países de Língua Portuguesa (Macau)” was created. Abbreviated these countries adopted the Forum Macau as common designator. Was created in 2003 to prepare the first Ministerial Conference where the Economic and Trade Cooperation Action Plan was signed by the participated countries. This Plan have several Cooperation Areas, such as: Intergovernmental, Trade and Investment, Comercial Cooperation, Agriculture, Infrastructures, Human Resources, etc. Also in this first Ministerial Conference was established that Macau will guarantee the logistic and financial support, being then created the “Secretariado Permanente”. B: How you embrace this ambitious and highly important project to Macau? R: When I was invited to the “Secretariado”, in a career point that I thought no new relevant projects will ever happen to me again, was incredible the value that China, also Macau, like the other seven Portuguese-Speaking Countries, shown to the Forum. Macau was definitely recognized as a platform between China and these seven countries, not only in the commercial field, but also in culture and so many other areas relevant for the relations between these countries. B: 2006 was an important year for the Forum. What the Ministerial Conference of 2006 brings new to the Forum? R: 2006 was in fact a very important year. The statement giving Macau the role as Platform between all these countries brings the importance to Macau that everyone knows, but was finally stated. Several agreements in the Media and Communication areas were also celebrated, namely with TDM and TDM-Radio, in programs exchange for instance. This also represents a new step into the cultural diversification between the countries.

博：請問您可以為成立十年的中國─葡語國家經貿合作論壇，作一個總結嗎？姗：今年是中國─葡語國家經貿合作論壇成立十周年的紀念年頭。論壇自2003年3月於澳門成立後，我便為其效力至今。創辦理念為了支持中國和葡語國家之間的經貿合作組織。簡單地說，葡語國家當時建議名為澳門論壇。論壇創建於2003年，首次的部長級會議中簽署了《經貿合作行動綱領》，當中包括了多個領域的合作：政府之間的合作、貿易、投資與企業間合作；農業與漁業合作；基礎設施建設合作；自然資源合作及人力資源合作等。在2003年的第一屆部長級會議中，通過後續機制，設立常設秘書處, 確定了澳門為論壇保證後勤和財政支持。博：請問這是您一項壯志雄心的職務項目以及對澳門高度重要的工作體現嗎？姗：最初當被要求參與秘書處之時，我才驚覺原來自己的職業生涯中已良久缺乏嶄新的推動力。對於中國，七個葡語國家及澳門而言，論壇的作用好比一個中國和葡語國家之間的平台, 不僅僅只為了商業利益，更多的是深化上述國家之間的聯繫, 如文化及其他諸多重要性的領域等等。 2006年可謂論壇的豐收年，當年的會議具備了什麼嶄新的改變呢？的而且確，2006年中，澳門首次被承認是中國與葡語國家的溝通平台，各葡語國亦逐漸意識到澳門橋樑的重要性。當中包括促成了媒體範疇中多項協議、各項電視台領域的協議以及澳門電台交流計劃，以上種種都意味著國家之間的關係正在不斷優化。

B: The Ministerial Conference of 2010 was the confirmation of this Forum as a main link for the relations between Macau, China and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries? R: Without doubts, 2010 was the best Ministerial Conference so far. With a Ministerial presence very strong from all the Countries. China Prime Minister announce some innovations, one of them the creation of the Forum Macau Cooperation Fund. Other innovation was the establishment of the Forum Macau Formation Centre in Macau. Meaning that Macau has two new roles: Consolidate the Macau role as Platform for services between China and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries and also Macau as “Centro de Formação do Fórum Macau”. B: Can you summarize what this Forum achieved in these 10 years? R: During these 10 years many things were done. Meetings, fairs, opportunities of investment presentations, for the investors from Macau and Mainland China in the PortugueseSpeaking Countries. With the Forum Macau, IPIM, other Public Services, every time we visit other country with this role of finding business and investment opportunities, we bring along a representative group of investors from our region. In all Official activities of this Forum Macau, we always build-up the PortugueseSpeaking Countries Pavilion, to well promote them. We went to the nine provinces, plus two, to promote these Countries and to develop the commercial and cultural

relations between China, Macau and these seven Portuguese-Speaking Countries. The 4th Conference was the highest point reached by the Forum Macau. Besides be the most participative one ever, mostly by Brazil with more than sixty individualities present, with inclusive the military airplane of Embraer landed in Macau! Angola and Cabo Verde, also with a strong participation; Portugal always strongly represented; and we need to take this opportunity to elevate Macau is this role. B: Any other agreements being planned? R: Still under study the creation of Convention and Exhibitions Centre, to give the opportunity to these Countries find a regular and stable place for them to organize thematic exhibitions to attract more countries internationally. The import of food products from the Portuguese-Speaking Countries has increased a lot, more specifically from Brazil and Portugal, and we hope that will grow also from the rest of the countries. B: What’s the future for the Forum? R: Macau still have a long way to improve and to grow. With the acceptance of this important role, from China and also from the PortugueseSpeaking Countries, Macau found already a new diversify for his Economy. I don’t want that our sons, and Grandsons, are only dependents of the Gaming sector. They were raised with Portuguese Culture and I hope they can continue spreading this “pluricultural” education that makes Macau this centre of economies but also of cultures.

博：論壇於 2 0 1 0 年所舉辦的部長級會議，在優化澳門、中國和葡語國家之間的關係中，起了何等程度的作用。姗：毫無疑問，2010年的會議比之前的更見出色。來自葡語國家的部長級代表可謂陣容強大。中國總理當時亦蒞臨澳門, 並宣布了多項創新的舉措──當中包括設立中葡合作發展基金和中葡論壇(澳門)培訓中心等。在中國與葡語國家兩大龐大組織的支持下，有利澳門可更易實現目標, 充分利用澳門的優勢, 而發揮服務平台角色。博：請問您能總結一下論壇在這10年以來的表現，以及對與會國家的作用嗎？姗：這10年間，有好幾件事項得以落實，如:會議、展覽會、推介會、促進澳門和前來澳門的投資者分別於中國和葡語國家的投資機會。通過中葡論壇(澳門)、貿促局及其他公共部門，組織代表團不斷有前往其他與會國家以進行投資或尋找商機，當地皆安排一群當地的商人隨我們同行，只要論壇所到訪之處，我們都會搭建一個與葡語國家對話交流平台。中國已有9個地區參加此論壇，而現時更增添了2個。這7個葡語國家、中國及澳門之間促進了貿易和文化的發展。第四屆中葡論壇部長級會議更攀登至高峰。是有史以來最多代表參與的一屆，當中巴西更率領以60人組成的代表團，並乘巴西航空工業公司的軍用飛機，降臨澳門一事最為觸目。安哥拉和佛得角具有重大的發展潛力，葡萄牙一直乃為最活潑的參與者。除此之外，我們有必要好好把握澳門這一個平台。

門，你對她的印象是什麼？對外來的旅客而言，也許是一座又一座奢華極致的酒店、五光十色的霓虹流曳、抑或南歐小調…總是精彩無限；然而對本地人來說，換上「現實生活」這副鏡框，也許映入眼簾是昔日的樸實人情被日漸濃厚的商業氣息取代，或者家門前後的街坊小巷被人聲鼎沸給淹沒。繁華中伴隨著衝突色彩，似乎替這座「昔日的純樸漁村、現代的東方拉城」下了註腳，然而還有一股代表在地生活美學的文創風潮，隨著古蹟活化利用與創意注入，延伸出一處處值得放慢腳步、細細探索的角落。

St. Lazarus Parish T

he historical building district of St. Lazarus Parish includes St. Lazarus Church, Calçada Da Igreja De S. Lázaro and Portuguese style residential area. Comparing to the world heritages, like the Fortaleza do Monte and the Ruins of St. Paul’s, it is much more peaceful and much less crowded. Or even to the Camp Street, which is densely covered with trendy clothes and shoes, the pace of life here is more leisure and ease. Walking along Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, you could see many Portuguese style ancient buildings, mostly built in the 20’s of last century. These buildings have been included in the government-protected culture property, which prevent people’s demolition to preserve the History of Macau. The government is investing on renovation and restoration of the old residences, like the Public Records Office, Social Security Funds Office and the Central Library. Stepping on the stone path in the alleys, the Calçada Da Igreja De S. Lázaro , which is intermixed with a row of Local and Portuguese style streetlight, attracts many culture and art organizations’ stationed. Like the old Albergue of the Macau Holy House of Mercy, Macau 10 Fantasia and so on. Today, local creative vitality makes the leprosarium that came into existence for 500 years a magnet to the young people who love culture and arts. Intricate to Calçada Da Igreja De S. Lázaro , it’s Rua de Eduardo Marques, another pathway filled with romance. The Estrada do Cemitério, facing the end of the road, comparing to the so-called western graveyard, it is not terrifying at all but more ensconcing. Muse for a short while, seems capable of understanding why foreign literary giants could get inspiration when they walk in the cemetery.

比起一個街區之隔的波鞋與潮牌服飾集散地水坑尾，這裡也多了一股悠閒氛圍。由荷蘭園大馬路走來，一棟棟葡式古建築大多建於上世紀20年代，現在因被列入「重點保護文化財產」而禁止居民拆毀，不少美麗的老住宅歷年來也斥資翻新維護，如歷史檔案館、社會保障基金、中央圖書館等。彎進巷弄，踩著狹小的石板路，與一整排歐式街燈的交錯的「瘋堂斜巷」，近年吸引多家文化藝術團體進駐，像「瘋堂10號」、「仁慈堂婆仔屋」等，本土創意活力讓500年前的痲瘋病院成為今日文藝青年流連忘返的地方。與瘋堂斜巷交錯的馬忌士街，是另一條洋溢浪漫氛圍的小路，盡頭面對的西墳馬路則比鄰俗稱「西洋墳場」的歐式墓園與聖堂，氣氛絲毫不恐怖反而更隱世，駐足沉思片刻，似乎也能理解為何國外的文豪詩人在墓園漫步時能萌生靈感了。

A trip along Hollywood Road and Lascar Row is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. There’s something for everyone be it a trinket for yourself, a gift that will travel well, a piece of art, an antique vase or horseman, or a piece of blackwood Chinese furniture. There’s also historical buildings, places to eat and watering holes, and glimpses into indigenous life. Hollywood Road begins at the Central Police Station and Victoria Prison, where popular after hours food and beverage-dominated Wyndham Street tails off. These buildings are reminiscent of the city’s past as a former British Crown Colony. The oldest part of the CPS building dates from 1864; and the building was used as the central headquarters of the Japanese during their occupation of Hong Kong (1941-45). In fact, the side streets and lanes off Hollywood Road walking westwards from Central to Sheung Wan, are certainly worth a pause, if not a peruse. With their iron gated, narrow residential blocks with mail sticking out of residents post slots; laundry strung over bamboo poles across their breadth; and elderly Chinese sitting in the sun, they afford authentic glimpses into indigenous life, as well as graffiti and street art that seem befitting for the area. One local artist, Grand So, has taken to the pavement , and can be seen working at his Chinese calligraphy amid his scroll paintings, which are for sale.

The temperatures plummet as January comes, but the city of Macau which locates in subtropical region will never have a snowy winter. Does the idea of “ winter with Snow” vibrate in your mind? Why not offer yourself an annually trip “Snow only for you”? Come to visit the white snow flying to Hokkaido! 隨著時序進入了1月，儘管氣溫偶爾驟降，但身在亞熱帶的澳門，總是少了些寒冬的氛圍。然而「好想看雪、玩雪的念頭！」卻不時在腦中迴盪嗎？前往早已一片白雪皚皚的北海道，替自己安排一年一度的「冬季限定」旅遊吧！

The 65th Sapporo Snow Festival is definitely a must-visit winter event for all traveler. Exit the New Chitose Airport and take the JR line of “Airport Express”, it takes only half an hour to Sapporo. Walk to the main avenue at Odori Park, the amazing and impressive artistic work of ice sculptures and snow statues are all around. The view conducted by icy and snow is incredible and fantastic despite the temperature is below zero and the shivering can’t help stop even wearing down coat, snow boots/UGG and fur hats. Sapporo Snow Festival presents its creations in 3 main avenues at Odori Park. And the total length of Odori Park is 1.5 km. In addition, all the “snow sculptures “look like huge architectonic project. Because the workers treat it as a house-building project, they need to use some large cranes and scaffolding to complete all the works. Last year, 250 piece of amazing snow sculptures were built, which included Bavarian State Opera, British Museum, the Greek Parthenon and other famous buildings. I suggest that you can walk around all the exhibitions again and again, this is the best way to feel the real snow winter. Because of the high latitude, Hokkaido’s winter arrives early. In my opinion, travellers should visit “The Sapporo TV Tower“ at this moment. Location of the tower can overlook the colourful night view of Odori Park. Besides, this huge building seems like an artery to penetrate Sapporo. So I sincerely hope that all of you should observe the snowy city quietly. 60

今年邁向第65個年頭的札幌雪祭，絕對是所有冬天造訪北海道的旅人必定朝聖的冬季盛事。從新千歲機場出關後乘著 JR「快速Airport」列車直達札幌不過半小時左右，再步行至主會場大通公園，震撼力十足的大型冰雕、雪像等藝術作品隨即鱗次櫛比地映入眼簾；儘管此刻置身在零下的氣溫中，身著羽絨衣、雪靴與毛帽仍不時直發抖，但放眼望去這片冰和雪構成的世界，實在夢幻地令人大嘆不可思議。札幌雪祭共有三大會場，橫貫札幌市中心、長達1.5公里的主會場大通公園展示的「大雪像」堪稱鬼斧神工，就像蓋房子一樣需要出動大型吊車、搭起鷹架並借助眾多人力才能完成，往年如德國巴伐利亞國立歌劇院、大英博物館、希臘帕特農神殿等知名建築都能真實呈現，加上其他多達 250座的晶瑩剔透冰雕沿著公園分佈，從頭到尾的一趟漫步，給人無限的雪國想像。因為緯度高，北海道的冬夜也來臨的早，此時推薦登上札幌地標的「電視塔」佔個好位置，可俯瞰深夜中五顏六色燈火點綴的大通公園，宛如貫穿札幌的一條大動脈，靜靜細數屬於雪祭才有的城市妝容。

After seeing the excellent snow creations, next step please move to the shopping malls, shops and pubs street downtown. You should visit the second exhibition hall which named “Susukino”. Walking on the snow is always a fun experience, but if you are afraid of the cold, I recommend you to take the rail. Or you can choose the romantic transportation: The streetcar. You should get on at “Central Hall” station of Odori Park, and drop off at “West Yonchome” station, then walk across to Tanukikoji Street, “Susukino” will be just in front of you. Not only Susukino provides both crabs, salmons and other seafood ice sculptures, but also the Dragon King, SAPPORO beer cups and other strange shapes in the ground which are full of creativity and vitality. Of course, once you are there, don’t try to go back home early, let’s go to one of the three major Japanese red light district, Susukino. In addition, turn a corner to the historical alley “Ramen Yokocho” (Since 60’s), I believe a bowl of piping hot Miso Ramen will become one of the unforgettable memories in your trip.

小空間大利用 Its easy to assume that a small space should be decorated with small furniture, right? Well, you’ll actually create an airier atmosphere by displaying one prominent item – from a statement sofa to a curved armchair – rather than putting a lot of small pieces everywhere.

在一般大眾的觀念裡，總會認為狹小空間的裝飾就該添置小型的家具，不是嗎？然而，其實你只需具備一項真正亮眼的家具當作整個房間的焦點──例如一張沙發或是曲線型的扶手椅──而不是讓家中充斥著大量的零碎物品。

Instinctively we feel that to make a room look bigger the larger pieces of furniture should be pushed against the wall, but sometimes a piece looks better at an angle or surrounded by space. Give your furniture breathing room, whether its angling the bed or floating the sofa in the living room with a narrow console table behind it.

為了使房間看起來更寬闊，人們的直覺總是認為家具應往牆壁靠攏，但有時放在某個角度似乎反而更好看，或是讓空間更加協調。不論是吊床或客廳裡的懸掛式沙發背後隱藏的收納會議桌，利用你的家具將房間點綴得更加亮麗吧!

When choosing furniture, invest in multipurpose pieces that serve several functions. The classic is a bed with storage space underneath for those spare linens and winter clothes. An ottoman with built-in storage can be used for books or spare nick-knacks and also makes a compact foot rest or extra seating in the living room.

Coordinate wall and furniture colours. Contrasting colours tend to break up a space. Pieces of furniture are less interrupting and tend to blend with the space if they’re coloured to match the wall colour.

Dining tables that can be made smaller or larger with removable or drop-down leaves let you make the most out of a combined living-dining area.

Adding mirrors and a little glass opens up an area and reflects light. Instead of buying a solid wood coffee table for example, look for one that has a glass centre. You take away the heavy look but there is still the soft look and feel from the wood detailing surrounds and the glass reflects light and makes the space feel bigger. An attractive rug underneath can be better seen and enjoyed too. Make your ceiling pop! Ceiling height will of course make a difference to the sense of space. I’m a big fan of open ceilings – any false ceilings I tend to remove immediately. Whilst most believe that a clean white ceiling will open up a space, giving a ceiling texture like a trellis or bright colours and fun fixtures, like a funky retro chandelier, will draw the view upward, creating the illusion of height in a room.

A fresh coat of paint even for a rental is worth the investment. Not only does it make the place feel fresh and clean, but the choice of colour will help you to enlarge your new home. Dark colours may seem design-friendly but they make a room look smaller. The lighter the shade is, the more open your space will appear, so stick to pale blues, greys, greens, yellows and creams. Expand a small room by painting the walls, trim and detailing in different shades of the same colour, such as white, off-white, and beige. Or pair a bright white with a white that’s tinted with yellow or blue so you can use the deeper hue on trim and detailing. Try to be creative when it comes to storage. Every inch of a small apartment will be used for some necessary purpose. Hang a broom and mop from wall hooks. Install shelving around the top of the walls for linens, extra bedding and out of season clothes. Avoid freestanding wardrobes if you can. If this is your own home and you plan on renovating, design it to have a walk in cupboard that is built as a small separate room, where clothes, suitcases, winter heaters, ironing board, ladders, even the washing machine – can all be stored. That way it leaves more space out in the living areas. Letting in the light, either by natural light or artificial lighting is the easiest and least expensive way of making a space feel brighter and bigger. Get rid of heavy curtains and open up the windows to let the light of the outdoors into the space. Leaving windows uncovered will trick your eyes into thinking that your home has depth.

If the view outside is not so attractive, place a medium size plant in a beautiful bowl on the windowsill. There’s still plenty of light coming in, but your eye will be drawn to the plant and not notice the ugly building next door! Using recessed lighting can make a room brighter. Even if you already have an overhead light, more light can be added in dark corners with recessed lighting, track lighting or wall sconces to avoid taking up precious space or making the room look too busy. Uplighting from side table lamps gives a much more cozy and convivial feel to a home. Get colour-coding! If you’re the kind of person that loves lots of nickknacks, a way to trick your mind into seeing a room that feels more spacious is to colour code. From the entrance; a mix and match of the natural wood pattern from shoe cabinet and the bright tiles brings you a visual excitement. The living room with an L-shape sofa is perfect for family gathering. With the direct day light coming into the apartment, a textured natural leaves tiles are used to wrap around a main column to show the major theme of the apartment. At the end of the living room, an irregular display cabinet used to display wines and collectibles from the owner; also the use of a lighter color separates this area from the major living room makimg this area brighter even with less sunlight.

Christmas in Our Hearts Sparkling lights, glittering decorations and joyous quotations about Christmas, are some of what is evidently seen throughout the holiday season and it is without a doubt “Christmas time in the city”. The most famous touristic spot in Macau, Senato Square never fails to impress tourists and locals alike especially with their flamboyant Christmas decorations every year. Walking to this downtown part of Macau will surely be a pleasure to the eyes as you pass by hanging glittering garlands. Even though the place is often crowded by tourists from all over the world there are lots of interesting places you can visit, the history and harmony of old and new are all mixed up into one giant bowl of uniqueness that only Senato Square can offer. We may all have different interpretation of what Christmas is all about. But one thing is for sure, Christmas will forever be about Jesus and how his birth changed our lives up to now. May we never forget the real essence of Christmas; Jesus in our hearts – CHRISTMAS IN OUR HEARTS.

This year’s massive crowd drew to approximately 12,000 or more people at the year ender concert jammed the crossroads of both local and from other neighboring countries with partygoers in multicolored top hats, all sorts of toy noise makers and sparkling 2014 glasses. The last 10 seconds of 2013 were yelled out loud by the audience together with the hosts of the concert, and so, 2014 had just begun.

除夕總是歡樂和幸福的。在拉斯維加斯，人們喜歡狂歡的慶祝活動，澳門是最好的地方讓大家可以像他們一樣迎接新年的除夕。切耳的冷風和拘束擁擠的人群並沒有分散掉成千上百人們對於狂歡倒數的熱情。人們在南灣湖畔前的澳門觀光塔聚集，本地及來自香港台灣的音樂狂熱分子舉辦的小型音樂會，熱情洋溢的歡迎著2014年的到來，煙花開始出現猶如五彩碎紙在空中出現。今年大規模的狂歡人群吸引了約12,000 以上來自年終演唱會的人，有本地的樂迷和其他國家的音樂粉絲帶著各種彩色的高頂禮帽和遍地可見閃耀著2014年字樣的牌子。在2013年最後10秒的時候，演唱會上的主辦方和聽眾一起高呼著倒數，於是，2014 年來到了。新年快樂！
