I love God, adore my family, prefer animals to most people but am greatfuly thankful for a handful of 'real' friends. "I am a descendant of Jan Harmensz Steenkamp, my 6th great-grandfather, coming from Nijkerk, Gelderland, Netherlands, first Steenkamp to arrive on the South African continent in the early 1700's, the owner of farm "Het Slot" in Drakenstein district. Our proud Steenkamp heritage includes being at the frontier in Kenya, starting the first NH (Dutch Hervormd) Church in Eldoret before moving to former Rhodesia and finally settling in South Africa.
