SLOTTED BREATHER BOLTS
If you purchased your RSD air cleaner prior to 2010 and notice any oil dripping from the bottom filter element, this FREE kit cleans up the pesky problem. We have found that some engines make excessive crankcase pressure causing them to spew a bit more oil than others up through the breathers. This retrofit consists of slotted-head breather bolts and injection molded rubber tubes that fit securely into the backing plate of your existing air cleaner. These parts help route any oil coming out of your breathers right back into your engine without spilling a drop.

WHEELS Our wheels begin with an aerospace quality, aluminum forgings that place the highest material strength in the same direction as the operating load, creating a light and strong wheel. From there we create the array of styles you see on our bikes throughout this catalog using CAD design software. Each wheel design must pass rigorous and intensive testing.
WHEEL TESTING TORSIONAL LOAD TESTING The torsional load testing machine simulates starting and stopping, as well as the occasional burn out. Load sensitive rams cycle back and forth replicating real world style torture in an attempt to rip the hub out of the rim. SIDE LOAD TESTING Side load testing replicates the incredible stress a wheel is subjected to during cornering. You can trust your RSD wheels will withstand those canyon roads and track days because they’ve come out of the simulated side load test unscathed. RADIAL LOAD TESTING The radial load testing machine simulates a load on a tire/wheel assembly while taking miles and miles of road with the occasional beating. The wheel is forced to endure countless rotations with one flaw sending the design back to the drawing board. IMPACT TESTING The massive impact testing unit simulates the pot holes and road hazards that a wheel is subjected to in the real world. Each and every wheel design is wrapped with a tire and a hard edge hit is replicated. The wheel must retain air pressure for a specific time in order to pass.

We shot a few pictures of her as a café racer and somewhere on the way to the beach we decided moto bars, dual purpose tires and a solo seat were a better fit and she was transformed into the Hurley Scrambler. It really goes to show what a versatile bike the sportster is and how easy it is to change a few parts and get something very different.

GAS CAPS, DUMMY CAPS & LED FUEL INDICATOR CAPS If you purchased your RSD air cleaner prior to 2010 and notice any oil dripping from the bottom filter element, this FREE kit cleans up the pesky problem. We have found that some engines make excessive crankcase pressure causing them to spew a bit more oil than others up through the breathers. This retrofit consists of slotted-head breather bolts and injection molded rubber tubes that fit securely into the backing plate of your existing air cleaner. These parts help route any oil coming out of your breathers right back into your engine without spilling a drop.

The Softail® chassis has long been a challenge to set up. The shocks are hidden under the frame which makes common adjustments difficult. Not anymore! Our engineering team over at Progressive have come up with a clever solution. We call it RAP (or Remote Adjustable Preload) and it combines our high performance shocks with a remote preload adjuster. Conveniently located behind the left passenger peg, the RAP system allows for easy tuning of the shocks to account for changing loads or the addition of a passenger. Packing a lot of gear for a big ride? Give the knob a few turns and the bike is set. Riding solo? A few rotations the other direction softens things up.

The 512 Series was the first aftermarket shock made specifically for Utility ATV’s. They have undergone extensive R&D to provide the finest possible suspension for your workhorse vehicle. We use improved spring rates for heavier load stability and handling over rough terrain as well as increased length for more travel and ground clearance. The ‘Original’ Progressive Rate Fork Springs soak up the small road bumps, yet are firm enough to absorb the molar-rattling ones. Spring rates have been chosen to reduce front end “dive” during braking, yet still provide excellent ride comfort. Better yet, we warranty our fork springs for life! Progressive Rate Fork Springs have several advantages over straight rate springs. A straight rate spring only offers linear resistance to compression and is a compromise. For example, if you have a 20lb straight rate spring, it will take 20lbs of force to compress the spring one inch. It will take 20 more lbs of force to compress it the next inch, and so on, until the end of the travel. A Progressive Rate Spring has the advantage of a rising rate resistance to compression. For example, a 15lb - 25lb Progressive Rate Spring will take 15lbs to compress it the first inch, 17lbs more the next inch, and so on, until the end of the travel, taking 25lbs more to compress it the last inch. The benefit of this is that the spring can be soft enough at the start of the travel to offer a “plush” ride, yet be firm enough at the end of the travel to soak up the big bumps.
