A lifetime love of American history and a deep passion for America's heartland have given Tom unique insight into riverine history and folklore. His program on the development of jazz and the career of Jelly Roll Morton is a guest favorite. In addition to providing daily performances from the "Great American Songbook" during cocktail hour, Tom also presents a program, entitled River of Song, featuring some of the great songs written about America's mighty rivers.

Todd brings tales of the patriots, fur traders, Indians, and explorers of America to life through his artifacts, period clothing, and colorful presentations. He is a highly celebrated, river-running historian who shares his appreciation for the stamina, ingenuity, and character that existed in those who helped shape the history of America on the Columbia River. He provides an entertaining and historically accurate portrayal of Astoria and the Lewis and Clark expedition that took place here during the 1800s.

Katie earned a Master of Science Degree in Ecology from the University of California at Berkeley and spent most of her professional career working for the U.S. Forest Service. She has traveled around the world twice, visiting many remote sites looking for rare and endangered plants and birds. We enjoyed this cruise so much! Not just the educational aspect, but the whole experience was great. So much so, that we canceled a vacation to the Caribbean for next year and signed up, on board, for the Columbia River cruise. Barbara N., Avon, OH Lower Mississippi River Cruise

Special Theme Cruise

Delight in the sounds of jazz and blues that fill the air as we cruise the Mississippi River and pay tribute to the musicians and the regions that helped influence music in America. Learn about the importance of New Orleans to the birth of jazz and how Memphis played an instrumental role in the foundation and popularity of rock n' roll.

USS Kidd

Excursion Highlight

Stationed in Baton Rouge and known as the “Pirate of the Pacific, this Fletcher-class destroyer is a memorial to the men and women who served in the American armed forces. Step back in time on this amazing excursion as you witness original artifacts and aircraft from World War II.

The Victory Belles

Onboard Entertainment

The Victory Belles are a dynamic vocal trio, serenading audiences with music of the 1940s in rich, three-part harmony reminiscent of the Andrew Sisters. Music of this era brought hope and happiness to our GIs at home and abroad. The repertoire of the Victory Belles keeps this genre alive with all the popular tunes of the WWII era, plus patriotic classics including a musical salute to each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
