Good start of the season

Giorgio Roda's season begins with a good sixth place in the LMP2 PRO/AM class with Proton Competition's Oreca 07 Gibson at the Barcelona circuit. In the inaugural round of the European Le Mans Series, the driver from Como hit the second position in qualifying with a great lap, but a series of misfortunes led the team composed of Roda, Gimmi Bruni and Jonas Ried to finish the race only in sixth in class and close to the top 10 overall. Already before the start, a small error of inexperience on the part of the German team pushing the car into its pit lane leads to a penalty with a drive through that compromises the first phase of the race. Roda made a good comeback with several overtakes against his direct rivals with Bruni and Ried completing a recovering race. "I feel satisfied because the race pace was among the best and we could have aimed for the podium. - commented Giorgio Roda at the end of the 4 hours of Barcelona - Unfortunately, however, we had a bit of bad luck in the race and we have to settle for sixth place overall. This, however, does not discourage us and, on the contrary, leads us to watch with even more confidence for the continuation of the season. The opponents are, for sure, of great value and it is not easy to gain ground with cars that are all the same, but with a competitive car and teammates of the same level, we can have our say." The next appointment with the European Le Mans Series is scheduled for July 16 with the 4 hours of Le Castellet, after the postponement of the tricolor stage in Imola, postponed to a date to be planned.
