The Messenger Happy New Year MBC!
Magnolia Baptist Church
"Every person a place to serve and a place to belong." January 2013
We serve an incredibly gracious God. He is the God of perfect jusce and righteousness. He is also the God of next chances. 2012 is gone. It can never be changed. There were many hardships that you endured…that our church endured. Time and me again, I was connually in worship over the graciousness of God to step into our lives in very real ways. 2013 is here. God hasn’t changed. My hope is that this is my best year following Jesus ever. That when I look at the end of this year I have grown closer to Jesus in trust and love; deeper with Jesus in knowledge of Word and walking in His way; and more like Jesus in my relaonships with others. So…Welcome to 2013! As the New Year rolls out, let me invite you to make this year your best year following Jesus yet! Following Jesus goes way beyond Sunday morning church! Living life in pursuit of truth, love, jusce, grace and beauty is living the Jesus way. It is an all-day, everyday way. In Mahew chapter 7, Jesus tells a large crowd about two builders: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” (Mahew 7:24-27 ESV) Living for Jesus 24:7 is living out 7:24. We live out our commitment to hear Jesus’ words and do them! Let’s grow together. Let’s be more like Jesus together. Step into the New Year! Come what may, we serve a great God! And that alone makes 2013 great already! Glad to be your pastor,
