Jez Avery

Stunt Show

An amazing show on 4 wheels, 2 wheels, 1 wheel, no wheels and the ROLLOVER QUAD! Jez Avery is born from the original era of two-wheeled stunt riding. A world class pro BMX, trials and mountain bike rider turned stunt show performer.

The show includes wheelies, stoppies, two wheel driving, drifting, doughnuts and precision driving.

Jez performs all his own stunts while delivering his famous commentary, keeping the whole family on the edge of their seats and laughing along. With numerous Guiness World Records under his belt throughout his inspiring career and endless TV and magazine appearances, Jez Avery will amaze any audience.

Interview with Ian Drummond, Do you ride special bikes? “Our bikes are set up for what we do, 3SIXTY founder and manager What do Team 3SIXTY do? “We showcase the sport of bike trials which involves riding over obstacles without any outside aids, no ramps, no suspension.”

Who are team 3SIXTY? “We have 6 full time riders under the 3SIXTY banner, plus about 30 guys we can call upon from all over the UK when needed.”

Where do you perform? “We spend most of our summer weekends performing at village fetes, festivals and galas, often we perform for sponsors abroad during the winter.”

they have very low frames for better manoeuvrability and we roughen up the wheel rims to make the brakes really bite but otherwise they are very simple machines.”

Is it a hard sport to get into?

“No, you can start on any bike, everything is about balance so just get on a bike and try different balance moves, then you move on to harder moves.”

You seem to have no fear, does it take a certain mentality to do bike trials?

“We’re constantly terrified! Actually, you have to be very composed when riding, not aggressive and unsteady. It doesn’t take any sort of special mentality to get good but you need to be able to stick in and push yourself when taking a few knocks.”

Choose the

1.

right variety(ies)

CHARACTERISTICS TO CONSIDER: • Heat level. • Plant growth habit • Culinary type (spice or vegetable type)

16

• Colour • Earliness • Yield

2.

3. Do not

out Sow early prick too

Chillies need a long growing season so should be started early in the year. Sow the seeds sometime between January and mid-March. Go for the earlier date for the slower growing habanero (Capsicum chinense) varieties.

early

Seedlings should have at least two true leaves when pricked out. They should be handled with great care, and in particular, the roots and stems must not be damaged.

4. Provide plenty

of

light

Light makes plants grow, and chillies need a lot of it. Generally, the more sunshine a chilli plant has, the earlier, bushier and healthier it will be. Low light levels result in thin, spindly plants.

8. Control 6. aphids Maintain fertility

levels

Chillies need high levels of nutrients to produce a good crop.

7.

9.

Water

diligently Provide

Germinating seeds must never be allowed to dry out. Older plants need regular watering, particularly in sunny weather.

5.

Aphids, also know as greenfly, are the most serious pest of chillies. If your plant gets infested they must be controlled. For details on control see our website.

support

Tall-growing varieties and those with large fruit need some sort of support to hold them upright and stop the stem and branches from breaking.

Keep the temperature high

Chillies are tropical plants with an uncompromising need for heat at all stages of their life. Artificial heat should be provided for germination and during transplant production; mature plants should be kept indoors in the warmth of a polytunnel, greenhouse or conservatory.

10.

Harvest

regularly

The more you harvest, the more fruit the plants will produce. To get the best yields the chillies should be picked off the plants regularly.
