Scan Me We are delighted to announce that Christchurch Rotary Club is busily preparing for the third consecutive Christchurch Living Advent Calendar. Now an established Christmas Event in the town, the event has raised more than £40,000 for local charities over the past two years. By popular demand in 2023, each event has been extended from a 30 minute to a 1 hour long session, allowing the surprise performers to entertain us for 40 minutes each time. My thanks go to our principal sponsor, The Primrose Charitable Trust, and to the huge number of local venues, performers, charities, local sponsors and supporters who provide their time and services for free. Huge thanks too to the CLAC team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the event to you and, last but not least, to you, our audience, without whom none of this would be possible. So, do come along and join us again this December and enjoy the fun! Jan Banks, Chair of CLAC Organising Committee, Rotary Club of Christchurch

Christchurch Rotary Christchurch Rotary is a group of about 40 men and women who meet on most Tuesday evenings. We are part of Rotary International, which has about 1.2 million members worldwide, in some 200 countries, and whose motto is “service above self”. We have also adopted an additional motto, namely “having fun while serving others”, which reflects our busy social programme, but more importantly the wide range of events and activities which we organise to provide services and to raise funds for local and international good causes.

For example, you will see from this CLAC programme that we support many local charities, and help to provide links with local businesses, and, on the international front, we have for many years contributed to Rotary’s brilliant campaign to wipe out Polio worldwide. These activities form part of

Rotary International’s many actions to serve the community both at home and abroad, and to promote international goodwill, understanding and peace. We welcome enquiries from people who would like to know more about Rotary or who might like to investigate the possibility of joining.

Principle Sponsor The Primrose Trust was established in 2017 by Kelvin and Pippa Medley-Jones in memory of Kelvin’s late mum, Mrs Primrose (Prim) George. Based in Christchurch, The Trust priority is to support small local charities that benefit children and adults in most need – through disability, age, serious physical or mental illness, or financial deprivation.
