Welcome to 2017 Ferndown Fete on the Field I am delighted that once again we will be organising the annual Fete on the Field - one of the highlights of the Ferndown community calendar. This fantastic and fun-filled day for all the family will be held on Saturday 24th June at King George V Fields from 11.00am until 5.00pm. The varied attractions will include:

• Classic and custom car show • Musical entertainment from solo artists, schools and groups • Model aeroplane flying displays • Dog show • Petting Zoo • Ten and 5 kilometre runs will start and finish on the field • Pram Race • 11 & under Fancy Dress Competition • Magician • Dorset Storm Troopers • Avenue of Fete Stalls • Bouncy castles and many fun stalls • Wide choice of refreshments or bring a picnic!

Entrance is FREE! All profits will go to local charities.

Skate Fest The ever popular Skate Fest will be run from 11am to 5pm during the Fete using the purpose-built KGV skate park. Bring your BMX, micro scooter or skates and take part in the competitions. Park in Cherry Grove car parks. Enjoy cold drinks and lunch from the many stalls at the Fete. Entrance is ÂŁ3. Contact Steve Cartwright at scartwright5@sky.com for more details!

Wimborne model aero club Wimborne Model Aero Club is a well respected club located in central Dorset on England’s south coast. We are a large flying club of more than 100 members many of whom have a lifetime of experience in model building and flying. Many having worked in the aircraft and support industry most of their life. All ages and abilities are catered for from novice to advanced pilot. Our membership includes two champions - National in Aerobatics and a three times Scale Jet World Champion. We actively encourage new members and provide training for those wishing to learn to fly. An added bonus is our airfield sits on a hilltop with views in all directions of Dorset’s glorious countryside. We hold regular events throughout the year including competitions, an annual Family Fun Day with BBQ, Scale Days, Open Events and Social meetings.

You can request a free trial flight alongside an instructor using dual control systems to get a real feel of remote control flying. Subject to weather, flights are normally carried out on Saturdays.

FERNDOWN

5K & 10K

24th June 2017 Following the success of last year’s runs, there will be a 10K and 5K run on Saturday 24th June 2017. The run will start at 11.30am from King George V Playing Fields. The multi terrain 5K and 10K runs will be registered and classified with England Athletics and will take place on Ferndown Roads and Ferndown Common.

MAKE A DAY OF IT! The Ferndown Fete on the Field, presented by Ferndown Rotary CIO, is available to all at the same location on King George V Playing Fields, Ferndown BH22 9EN. Gates open 10.30am – 5pm. All welcome.

classic & Custom car show We are pleased that Ferndown is holding another Classic Car Show this summer as part of Ferndown Rotary CIO’s Fete on the Fields 2017 fun day out. This is open to all Classic and Custom Cars, Motorbikes and Light Commercials. Most vehicles will be over 20 years old or be of special interest or customised if younger. Please bring your classic or custom vehicle and help make the show bigger and better than ever! If you don’t have one then do come and enjoy the spectacle. Register in advance to show your car for free. An optional commemorative plaque will be available at £2 each. Or turn up on the day for £2 inc. plaque. Email me for Club Stand information.
