Kinson Christmas Fair 2022

Christmas is creeping into the air in Kinson. Once again, those businesses of Kinson who are members of the BH10/11 Business Association (you may know us as Kinson Business Forum) have been busy putting their plans into action to make our village a great place for the community and our local businesses – a great place to live, to visit, to shop, to eat and to meet friends.

On Saturday, 26th November 2022, Santa will be in his grotto at the Kinson Christmas Fair being held in Kinson Community Centre.

Santa will have free presents for all the children who visit him in his magical grotto. There will be elves and jugglers to get you in the mood. Adults have not been forgotten either; there will be Christmasthemed musical entertainment, hot and cold refreshments and an assortment of interesting stalls with creative and exciting ideas to kick start your Christmas shopping. Or if you want to get creative there will be a number of workshops to take part in. Christmas wreath making and gingerbread man decorating on the day – and if you pre-book, lantern making - ideal for taking to the carol service.

The Fair in the Community Centre opens at 11.00am and will continue until 3.30 pm. Then, to round off a perfect day, the celebrations will move to the Green for carols around the Christmas Tree, starting a 4.00 pm. A perfect end to a day for all the family to enjoy.

Jamie Jambo Children’s Entertainer Bournemouth has created magical memories for thousands of children and families across Dorset and the UK for over 15 years! Jamie is the first choice for children’s birthday party entertainment in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Dorset and beyond. His amazing skills include… Magic, Comedy, Juggling, Unicycling and Puppetry. Jamie has the unique ability to capture all ages ensuring everyone has a memorable time. He will be live on stage at 2pm!

The Amethyst Singers meet weekly at Kinson Masonic Hall on Wednesdays and Strouden Community Centre, on Thursdays. 10am until 11.30 only £6 Per session refreshments included.

Soundwaves Community Choir are a group of friendly people who LOVE to sing.

Wavelength A Cappella are an a cappella, women's harmony choir, based in Bournemouth.

Little Gizmo is a Children's entertainer who specialises in: Mascot Meet and Greet, Mascot hire, Mascot partys, Spider-Man partys, Spider-Man superheroes, superhero partys and childrens games.

Kinson Heritage Walk

There are so many things to be gained from this; the physical and mental health benefits of walking, exercising mindfulness, discovering the history of the area you live in and adding to your knowledge of it.

This is an inclusive self-guided walk. It follows mainly hard surfaces so it is suitable for families with young children in pushchairs as well as wheelchair users. It follows a loop, starting and ending at same place, Kinson Community Centre, Pelhams House. You can pick and choose how much you do in any one day and you can progress at the rate that suits you.

It has been set out so that the route takes in many of the historical sites of the area and it passes the small local shopping parades, community facilities and schools that you may not know, or even have heard of.

It can be enjoyed on many levels. With this booklet you can just simply enjoy the walk, or you can use your Smartphone with a QR reader app to read the QR codes to delve further into the information that is available, either as you walk, or later. See what you can discover about the history, culture and heritage of Kinson and the surrounding area!!

Kinson, and the local area has verymany beautiful green spaces toexplore, a plethora of history toinvestigate and many shops, bars andrestaurants to discover. A booklet hasbeen produced highlighting all thatthe area has to offer.

The walk booklet has been produced to support Home-Start a local charity, supporting young families, hence the small donation of £2 for the booklet.

This walk is the first of several interactive walks to allow you to discover the treasures of your local community.
