Since the 2020 start of the Covid-19 pandemic, life has been difficult for everyone. During this time Alcoholics Anonymous has seen a rise in people seeking help to stop drinking.
As the pressures of the pandemic ease, AA’s message is don’t suffer alone. Help and support is free and readily available to anyone who has a desire to stop drinking. Crucially, there are no waiting lists and no referrals needed. Local meetings take place daily in Bournemouth and surrounding areas, as well as across Dorset and the rest of the UK.
AA meetings include men and women of all backgrounds for whom drinking had become a
nightmare. Using a proven recovery programme and support of others who have stayed sober, they help the still-suffering drinker stop and stay stopped. Then they offer help and support to live a happy and contented life free from a dependence on alcohol.
If you or someone you know, is experiencing problems with alcohol and wants help, they can contact Alcoholics Anonymous today and speak to someone who has been where they are and is ready to help locally on 01202 296000 or the national helpline on 0800 9177 650, email: help@aamail.org or visit the Chat Now service at www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk
