Everyone has their own battle, so if you can be anything, be kind.
Kindness is always possible.
Be Patient – We are all learning, this experience belongs to all of us. Communicate with us, listen to us and let’s try to keep making things better.
Be Responsible – Know that the small things that you do can make a big difference. Come back with a passion to do your part to stay safe and keep those around us safe too.
Role of the Year Head
- Be the link between school and home – this relationship is highly valued
Work with you to make school as happy a place it can be for your child

- Work together on following the school rules and Code of Behaviour
- Talk to one another about any relevant issues
- Be solution-focused – how can we fix the problem
- Offer praise, reward students, provide ways for students to succeed

Difficulty in a subject e.g. Homework Club, Homework

Punctuality e.g. Earlier bus, Routine

Homework e.g. Learning Hub / Check the journal

Organisation e.g practice logins / Check the journal
Role of the Tutor
- Absence Notes (please communicate reasons for absence after two days prior to a phone call home)
- Phone calls home after 3 days of absence
- Lockers – organisation, responsibility, locker keys, appropriate locks, fairness at the lockers
- Note for leaving school early (this should only happen in emergency cases, please follow our procedures –note AND phone call, not a private phone call with your child)
- Signing the Attendance Pledge
- Signing the Code of Behaviour
- Signing the journal every Friday (the journals should be well used and very busy)
