Reflections, I (Don’t) Need You Makers and various groups of actors (from the Cornerstone Theatre Company in Los Angeles, the Utrecht Stut Theater and clients and staff from the Van der Hoeven Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry) went in search of answers to questions about identity. Who are they? Do they want to stay as they are? Do they want to help others or would they like help from others? VIA KANANA Stadsschouwburg Utrecht > 27 March Talented South African choreographer Gregory Maqoma searches for the road to the promised land for his ravaged nation. His dancers are specialized in pantsula, South African hip hop, to which he adds gumboots, tap and step.

BITCRUSHER Podium Hoge Woerd > 23 April The starting point of this dance performance is the ‘pixilation’ of the world: digital reality is increasingly taking over the analogue. What remains of our reality? An eager interaction between dance and music.

His lyrics are funny, his performance is exuberant and his music is a mix of folk, pop and garage rock. TIVOLIVREDENBURG > Brad Mehldau Trio [20:15] Brad Mehldau is one of the most important pianists of modern jazz. With his natural feel for harmony he manages to jump from one genre to another. This evening he’s bringing along double bass player Larry Grenadier and drummer Jeff Ballard. UTRECHT BOTANIC GARDENS FROM 1 MAR > Botanic Gardens The gardens, which are among the oldest university gardens in the Netherlands, are located in the heart of Utrecht Science Park around the 19th-century Fort Hoofddijk. They are home to some of the world’s most beautiful plants and flowers.

You can also put on a lab coat and carry out experiments, or investigate the differences between humans and animals. Have you ever seen an actual dragon or the skull of a unicorn? PERMANENT > Down to the bone At first sight, humans look very different than sharks, crocodiles or horses. But in what way are humans and animals similar? Discover the similarities and differences in this exhibition. PERMANENT > Fungi Lab Will you be sitting on a stool made out of fungus in the future?
