Hazards

Risk rat ing

Controls

(High, Med, Low)

Any liquid that may fall onto the sound mixing board may ruin it and cause it not to work.

High

Make sure no one takes food or drinks into the production room , this would help with all the equipment from getting ruined and stop working

Make sure the volumes are kept at an appropriate level , as it can get too loud

Med

Make sure that the volume is known at what rate is the highest and also mark out the points in which it will go too loud. Also I can make sure that I know where the maximum mark is by marking it out.

The wires around the room can lead to making people fall over and also unplug wires

Med

Make sure every one is aware of all the wires in the room, the wires should also be put away neatly and not be all over the place.

Any phone signals can interfere with the equipment (sound board) and cause a load beeping sound.

Low

Make sure that all the phones are switched off and collected at the start of the LIVE day and give it back when the program has ended.

Low

Keep a regular check on the microphones before the show goes on air and make sure they is stable and do not have a chance to unplug or fall out.

The microphone on the presenters can be a taken out or moved which will cause the microphones not to work. Overheating of the soundboard may cause it to stop working.

Make sure that you do not make the mics are not too loud. This can make the microphones bust , this can also bust in someone’s ear which will cause health and safety hazard and also replacing the mic’s

Low

Low

Make sure that nothing is kept on top of the soundboard because this will decrease air flow , and also that it is switched off when not needed because this leads to over heating and unnecessary electric use. We will make sure that the mics are not to loud , by checking the sound levels before we go on air. I will have all the presenters and guests check beforehand if their mics are at the right level.

Med The sound board’s wire should not be taken out all the time.

This might lead to electric shocks , which can harm people and cause other health and safety hazard. This is why the wires will be secured in and not taken out. Low

The sound board may accidently be touched by someone , or someone’s hands may accidently slip on a control

This will lead to controls going wrong , also may lead to the volume’s getting to high or too low which means the show would be ruined. This is why I will make sure there is not a crowd around the sound board. Low

If something is placed next to the soundboard which can fall onto the sound board and ruin the controls.

The area near the soundboard will be clear and also nothing big (equipment) will be placed near it.
