Many people you will encounter in supermarkets, banks, stations, airports and government offices will most likely be able to converse fluently in English. As such you would not find it difficult to communicate with your co-workers on a day to day basis. Of course, a few of your co-workers may speak in German amongst themselves and you may find that you are missing out on the ‘water-cooler’ gossip.
