Why Denmark is the happiest nation in the world?

Denmark to be rated high on happiness Denmark has time and again been chosen as one of the happiest countries in the world and is therefore a favorite destination for immigrants. The country has many features in common with the other developed nations such as high GDP per capita, stable democratic leadership and high life expectancy. However the nation outshines all nations when it comes to happiness. The Danes have been ranked as having the highest level of happiness in the world happiness survey. We explore the reasons for Denmark to be rated high on happiness.

1. The Danish people are focused on the family Immigrants from India will find the same culture around family in Denmark as it is in India. The Danes have very close knit families and the family culture is recognized and honored by the government as well. Immigrants as well as residents in Denmark are entitled to 52 weeks of maternity leave out of which the mother gets 18 weeks fully paid leave and the father gets 2 weeks off at full pay. The rest can be used as and when the family desires. Immigrants to Denmark find that cost of child care and education is also very low which allows the mother to return to work faster. This leads to more happiness as the people get to experience the perfect work-life balance
