CAMERON WILLIAMS
7
My name is Cameron Williams. I am a second year graphic design student, continuing to my third year in 2018. My love of art and conceptualisation, merged with my love of technology, was the birthplace of my love for design.
Design is all about experimentation and not be afraid to push the boundaries of your designs. Not being afraid of criticism and being open to opinions is another important aspect to design. This allows you to grow as a designer and better yourself. I feel the need to constantly experiment and better my design skills. Playing around with texture, shape and form to perfect the design and make it look whole and finished. I love graphic design as it has merged my love for art and technology, to create a design passion that I’ve been drawn to. My designs are experimental, they reflect the battle of geometric vs organic shapes and textures. With the inclusion of contrasting colours from the spectrum, with a fun, friendly and light tone. Many of my design will emphasise direction and flow, to the draw the viewers eye on a visual journey through colour and expression.

RICO NIEZEN
Art and design have always played a significant role in my life, whether it be chaot ic doodles or massive fine-art projects. I always keep myself busy with some creative activity, but I’ve always preferred working with my hands. When it comes to almost any of my projects, I’ll always try to start on paper before moving to digital mediums.
I’m Rico, a young artist, and designer from the city of Pretoria, South Africa. I was born in 1997, into a modern take of a hippy family who has always supported my dream of becoming creative. A significant influence on my art is my grandfather. He too was a successful artist and designer during the 70’s. Other infl uences on my work include nature and the world around me. My illustration style is quite unique, as I pay close attention to detail. I believe it is the fi nal touches that bring a piece of art to life. I am a motivated and driven person by nature. I think it is of high importance that everything you do in life, should be done to the fullest extent, which I feel is well portrayed in my work and design project.

My personal interests include reading, writing, photography and music. I am hardworking and motivated and always ready to face any challenge coming my way. The one thing I have always believed from a young age, is that happiness is more important than money and if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life. My favourite part about being a graphic designer is to see how other designers think and how their insights and opinions are sometimes the only missing ingredient to a project.

My interest in graphic design came at a young age as I loved drawing and just being creative, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to music and enjoying life. I would describe myself as a down to earth person, understanding, respectful and friendly. After my studies I plan on working for some time to gain more experience in the industry then after I plan on travelling abroad to broaden my horizons and grab every opportunity that comes my way.

ANNABELLE LINDE
How on earth do I go about describing myself, in a way that makes even the least bit sense? Perhaps I should start by telling you what type of person I am. I am one of those peculiar people who hate sleeping because of how excited and curious I find life.
Fashion has become the medium in which I declare my passionate obsession with learning and translating the small details of life that most seem to overlook. I love people, aesthetics, understanding how things work and are put together (that which lies below the surface), I love design(ing) and I love helping. My greatest passion in life is design and people, which is evident in my journey through life and studying so far as I first began my journey in landscape architecture, then went on to fashion design and simultaneously did courses in counselling. I believe that all of these aspects have helped mould me into the woman that I am currently, and I also believe that this has given me an insight into fashion and design that is unique. What I enjoy the most in fashion design is the creative, conceptual aspect of the design process. I am very creative and although I might look at the same thing as someone else, I always have a very unique way of interpreting what I see.

In 2017 she led her team to a win in the same project under the most socially aware product category. These successes give an insight into the kind of designer she is. She seeks to express individuality in her designs and is always looking for ways to present something in a new way. She is fascinated by the mix of structured and soft elements, sometimes creating new and exciting silhouettes that give the illusion of a distorted body. At the same time she seeks to grow a brand that is synonymous with social awareness, bold style and rebel chic.

AMY TAYLER It’s very nice to meet you. We should probably get to know each other a little better... I am a twenty-something-year-old Ideation student from Cape Town. (If you’re not sure what Ideation or Design Thinking is, you are welcome to turn to the next page. Don’t worry, I’ll wait...)
I happen to love living in Cape Town, along with Gardening, Reading, Cooking and exploring new places. I’m also a half-decent writer in my spare time. So welcome to my Portfolio. While it may seem like just a book full of projects and deadlines, it is actually a culmination of three long years of late-nights, computer crashes and yelling “I give up!” at a blank Macbook screen. After six-hundred-and-ninety-three days of working towards a degree, I have summed up the best of them in this Portfolio. I hope you have a wonderful experience looking through the work and I hope we can continue this conversation in person.

ANDORE VAN DER MERWE
Since I can remember I have been drawing, painting, building and creating. I have always experienced creativity as something that flows through my veins, that I can feel in my fingers and something that is more than a talent. I see creativity as a gift given to me to influence, inspire and make a mark.
This is my portfolio. As you turn the pages through my projects, you will see some of my very own handwritten fonts, sketches and patterns. My artistic thoughts are raw, they are chaos, but they are creative. I am passionate about making interior spaces come to life. I enjoy solving problems creatively and technically. I am skilled in draughting and detailing, and I love growing in these skills. I am a quick learner, and I enjoy learning new things. Designing and empowering the world visually has always been a part of who I am.

Throughout my college career, the courses I found most interesting were those revolving around subjects such as applied design, business, and technical drawings.
My internship included doing finishing schedules, apartment design, and going to view and analyse sites. From my course work and professional experiences, I have developed the technical, design and writing skills necessary to be a successful interior designer. In addition, I am aware of the long hours and hard work that is required of the role. I am ready to dedicate myself to Inscape in much the same way that I committed myself to being a varsity athlete.
