In Memoriam: David C. Driskell June 7, 1931–April 1, 2020

“The artist has the dual responsibility of creating a new vision of the world by inventing and expanding upon what we see and by creating beauty as a desirable quality of life. The artist should be able to make us aware of the good life by asking for social justice for all.”

Hear what authors have been saying about us! “We can’t say enough positive things about Maine Authors Publishing. They are supportive, encouraging, and a truly valuable resource for the experienced (and particularly for the inexperienced) writer. Not only do they print and promote our books, they offer professional development opportunities and marketing as well. What success we had with our little children’s book is due in great part to Maine Authors Publishing and their professional team. Thank you to Jane Karker and her amazing staff.” —Angela Nickerson, author, and Bob Magnus, illustrator, Hector: The Adventure of a Little Bird Who Needs Glasses

I suppose you have heard the awful gossip about me, eh?

Most postcard collectors focus on the images of city and country scenery, but here’s a sampling of the messages themselves: humor, secret codes, unfamiliar vocabulary, and, most of all, the everyday details of life in the early 1900s—a way of life that’s long, long gone.
