PORTAL HOTEL | Business accommodation Wrocław, Poland.
The task was to design a mid-sized hotel with a minimum of a four star standard in the center of the old town. As the site of the project was a small plot in the center of the city, it had to be decided on the selection of additional functions that will be included in such a complex theme like a hotel design. Therefore, it was given the business profile designing possible to rent office spaces and a small spa and wellnes center. Wrocław University of Technology, fourth-year project
Location | Wrocław University The portal hotel is located in the near neighbourhood of Wrocław University. A plot is almost triangular and contacts the blank wall of existing apartment houses. The main building of the university is a baroque architecture with an impressive portal. One of the contitions of the project was to expone the main portal by preserve the view axis.
Idea | Function The form of the hotel is very simple not to compete with the university architecture and was designed as a result of extraction of a shape of the plot.

The entrance zone was created bu substracting the portal view axis and an interior patio. To make the form more interesting and visible from the riverside the restaurant storey was protruded.

LA ALHAMBRA | Interpretation Center Granada, Spain.
“Everything here appears calculated to inspire kind and happy feelings, for everything is delicate and beautiful. The very light falls tenderly from above, through the lantern of a dome tinted and wrought as if by fairy hands. Washington Irving, Tales of the Alhambra The project was divided into three main parts called: point, line and plan and a pre-part that was the investigation and perceptive experimentation of place. The first excercise was to choose a strategic point location for a viewer, then to insert an artificial way from this place to the heart of Alhambra and finally to design the interpretation center inside. CEU San Pablo University, third-year project
Idea | Organization The idea of the Center of Interpratation was inspired by the structure of Alhambra walls and defense towers. The units of the designed project are connected with the same rules.
Relationship with the Alhambra | Entrance All the units of the center were arranged in the entrance zone of tha Alhambra to take advantage of the possibility to introduce the visitor in the story of the fortaleza roja. The are a lot of different paths to follow due to diverse needs of customers, but the main direction is indicated by water - the most subtle element of the Alhabra.

YOUTH HOSTAL | City shelter for 100 people, Wrocław, Poland.
Hostal is not equal to hotel. The most important principle in here is to share. The main task of the project was to create a shelter in the exact centre of the city for al least 100 people. It was necessary to design a building in an infill location what was one of the problem. The aim was to make the building a part of an urban fabric and at the same time to become intriguing and inviting tourist. Designed space is dedicated to the youthul spirit, who at any time of day or night could find here a bit of space for themself. Wrocław Univerity of Technology, 2nd year project.
Location | City Centre Project is located directly in the centre of Wrocław.The location was selected by the idea of filling the empty spaces in an urban fabric. Its main advantage is the proximity of the railway and bus stations. The disigned buiding closes the nort-eastern frontage of the quarter by Stawowa street. Hostel opens to the green inner couryard which was created in answer of the need of green space in the centre. The project contain the underground parking for 50 cars.
Idea | Form | Function The idea is to close the missing space of frontage of the Stawowa street. As the plot is very narrow it exacts the transversal divisions of exacts same lenght that the high of the storey. That created cubes vere moved relatively to each other to create the play of lights and shadows on the elevation.

Green roof | sleeping modules The last storey is composed of sharing sleeping space and a green roof. The sharing sleeping space is completed with dormitory modules which gives the opportunity to free arrangement of the interior. They can be used either inside of outside the hostel. Moving them outside on the green roof creates an idea of a camping in the middle of the city centre.

LIVING ON THE WATER | Housing unit on a dike, Wrocław, Poland.
What is a house? What kind of function do we need? Is this possible to live wherever? The aim of this project was to find the answer to that simple questions and to create an funcional housing unit for one person or a couple placed on a dike on the Oder river. The most important issue was to define all the functions human being need to live and their relationships with the surrounding, water in this case. The project was presented on eight panels 70cmx70cm, in a total dimension of 140cmx280cm in a scale 1:20. Wrocław Univerity of Technology, 1st year project.
Location | Oder Project is located on a stoned dike between Warsaw Bridge and a railway crossing the river. The dike is about 2 meters wide and it high depends on the level of water. It is and extension of the natural separation of the two riverbeds. The entrance to the dike is possible from the Warszawski Bridge by the staircase and from the south from the Oder bank.

function scheme
Idea | Function Any necessary home function was limited to one cube and planted in the stoned dike in the correct order so as to establish the principle of the areas more or less private. Then every zone was moved due to to the need for access to sunlight - living space is open to the southwest and te sleeping space is closed to the south but open to the north-east. In order not to restrict the passage on the surface of the dike entrance was organized with the enclosed to the side staircase.

YOUNG ARTISTS CENTER | Urban concept under the elevated crossroad, Szczecin, Poland.
The aim of the project was to find design solutions that enrich formally and operationally important and prominent place at the crossing of King Chrobry’s Terrace and the Szczecin Old Town, which is currently dominated by the elements of the communication infrastructure. After a deep analysis of the space development proposes a new concept of development of public space enclosing the rearrangement of streets and parking lots and the concept of the Centre Young Artists - a dynamic complex of creative people willing to act and share their passion with the city. Wrocław University of Technology, BSc Diploma Project
Location | In between space Project is located directly beneath the elevated road called Caste’s Route, in the exact center of the city, on the eastern edge of the left bank of Szczecin. The route is one of the four roads connecting the center with the right bank of the Szczecin. and also with the rest of Poland. From the bridge spread characteristic panorama view of Szczecin, the most beautiful and incomparable experience of entering into the city. Castle route is a clear extension of the Szczecin compositional spine called Golded Axis along which runs Golden Route, traditional pedestrian route of Szczecin and the most interesting tourist track. To the northeast of the Castle Route there is the King’s Chrobry Terrace with a National Museum and the Naval Academy. The King’s Chrobry Terrace is a beautiful green embankment of about 500 m lenght along the Oder, which offers a beautiful view of the river, where the skyline is decorated with shipyard cranes. To the southwest is the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes, Renaissance building situated on the hill. It is the historical home of the Griffin family, the rulers of the Duchy of Pomerania. Foot of the caste and at the same time in the immediate vicinity of the project area there is located the main square of reconstructed Old Town - Sienna market on which stands the Old Town Hall. The place is frequently visited by locals and tourists becouse of the great number of bars and restaurants.
project area current status
Crossing | No life area As the area of interes is located on the intersection of extensions of so many important routes it should create the continuity. The idea was to connect all those ways and to arrange the node space, that now is strongly dominated by transport infrastructure as elevated road columns and parking lots.

If architecture had nothing to do with art, it would be astonishingly easy to build houses, but the architect’s task - his most difficult task - is always that of selecting. Arne Jacobsen
