ABOUT THE
Pleasure Edit As the editorial arm of beauty and lifestyle brand, Majesty’s Pleasure, the Pleasure Edit highlights anything and everything described as pleasure. Whether it’s through a guilty pleasure like spending all day in bed with your lover or maybe the season’s colour palettes or latest fashion trends, we’re obsessed with how people interact with the things they find most enjoyable. After 10 years of being in the pleasure business, we’ve learned lots about guilty pleasures, beauty rituals, the pleasure benefits of socialization and life changing habits of alone time and self-care. We’ve created the Pleasure Edit to share with you the tips, tricks, life hacks and suggestions on how to bring more pleasure into your life. So, whether it’s through nail inspiration, a cocktail recipe, or the products in our pleasure rituals, we’re curating each season of the Pleasure Edit with a special theme on how pleasure can fit into your life. This season’s theme is Golden Hour. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it for you.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
Welcome to the Golden Hour issue of the Pleasure Edit — where every minute is as precious as gold. Everyone has a different relationship with gold. Some people immediately think of the chic jewelry they wear day in and day out; some see gold as a symbol for giving something their best effort; and some even remember their culture’s traditions where the metal plays a huge—and sometimes even spiritual—role. Of all the countless interpretations of gold though, there’s a few things that are certain, gold is a symbol of power, gold is a symbol of beauty and gold is one of the most precious elements on our planet. Think about it: when else do you feel like THAT girl than when you have the perfect manicure and you slip on that vintage gold ring that compliments the colour of your polish. Gold is a precious metal that’s valued for its history, rarity and beauty. It always feels great knowing you’re covered in super rare and ancient metals when you wear gold. It has the ability to elevate but at the same time bring a sense of groundedness. We’re obsessed with how gold can combine luxury with confidence, safety, and aesthetics— a few pillars that we believe prop up pleasure. Thus, we only thought it’d be natural to create this Pleasure Edit in collaboration with Canadian fine jewelry brand, Mejuri. Mejuri is breaking down the traditional barriers to owning gold jewelry by designing unique pieces at affordable prices with the hopes of inspiring women to invest in themselves, all the while focused on sustainability and inclusivity. And they’ve been hugely successful doing it. This issue, we are partnering with Mejuri to showcase our bespoke gold manicures paired with Mejuri’s standout pieces, providing inspiration to create your own golden moment. It’s to remind people that no matter what, they deserve to take time to be golden this season. Time is just as precious as gold and you deserve to value, cherish and give your time just like gold. So in this issue, we’ll be breaking down the best gold nail trends this season; highlighting the empowerment of being single during the holidays; unpacking which outfits will make you look hot at any type of holiday party; sharing our favourite champagne cocktails for the winter, including the Golden Hour Cocktail; scouring the country’s most luxurious cocktail bars; and speaking with our favourite It-Girls, Mejuri co-founder Noura Sakkijha, and our very own Sara Kardan.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
A DOSE OF NOURA SAKKIJHA When fine jewelry runs in the family, you learn about the industry’s notso-sparkly parts early on. Noura Sakkijha, founder of Mejuri and thirdgeneration jeweler, noticed that fine jewelry pieces, while they’re usually what you wear when you want to look your best, are typically purchased for gifting — and, of course, that’s traditionally from men to women. While Sakkijha loved learning about precious metals and jewelry-making techniques, she couldn’t see herself in an industry that pushed such an antiquated binary between the giftee and giver — it propelled her to start a career in engineering instead. Still, with entrepreneurship practically in her veins, she began building Mejuri as a place where people can invest in their own timeless pieces at a price that makes every day a special occasion. Sakkijha left her day job to run Mejuri full-time, and the rest is history. Still, we can only imagine how daunting it must have been to not only switch career paths but create a new definition for the industry your entire family is in. We caught up with her to see how she navigates it all, plus her favourite ways to maintain her pleasure rituals.

NOURA’S FAVOURITE MEJURI PIECES
PYRA DIAMOND TENNIS BRACELET
It’s hard to choose but I am currently coveting the Pyra Diamond Tennis Bracelet - the style and its flexibility is so unique but it will last a lifetime. Other favourites of mine are the Charlotte Bold Ring, which is currently stacked on top of my wedding ring for a bolder look, and the Micro-Pavé Diamond Rivière Choker, which I hardly take off. WHAT IS A FAVOURITE PLEASURE OF YOURS? HOW DO YOU SEEK PLEASURE AMIDST YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE?
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT MAJESTY’S PLEASURE? WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SERVICES?
More and more with my busy schedule and being a mom, I find true pleasure in finding moments of spontaneity. Having free time to do whatever I want has become increasingly rare, but amidst all the noise of my day to day, it is so important and usually means a trip to the spa, dinner with friends, doing a pottery class or a dance party with my girls.
Majesty’s Pleasure is absolutely my go-to place for my mani and pedi. What I love so much about it is that it never feels like a chore or something I have to check off my list. Getting my nails done at Majesty’s Pleasure feels like “me time” and like I’m pampering myself. That is definitely in large part due to the level of service and care - the team at Majesty’s Pleasure really takes the time to personalize the experience to you.
IF YOU WERE TO DESIGN A DAY OF SELF-CARE, WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?
If I am treating myself, I love the Ultimate Gel Manicure – it is so relaxing and the hydrating mask really soothes my hands. You can also never go wrong with the Signature Pedicure.
It would look like waking up at my own pace, having a slow morning without anything booked in my schedule, followed by working out and reading one of my favourite books. I’d top it off with a massage and going to dinner with friends and my family.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR LI F EST YLE
Golden Hour: The Perfect Time for Content Creation In nature, golden hour is the moment shortly after sunrise and before sunset, when the sun casts a bright orange hue in the sky. Much like the Golden Hour aesthetic, we want to uplift people who redefine what “cool” means. And much like the golden hour natural phenomenon, we want to illuminate all the ways you can bring pleasure into your life, even if just for a moment. Sure, you can remember moody MySpace pages or hark back on the Sad Girl vibes all over Tumblr — but no social media movement had a chokehold on our collective vibe quite like Instagram’s Golden Hour aesthetic. To capture a selfie during golden hour was like finding a golden nugget. Surprisingly, it was the moment that democratized the beauty and fashion corners of the Internet as we know it now. If this sounds like a reach, let us explain. OK, MySpace and Tumblr aesthetics are having a moment right now — but back when they first started, the platforms were either too personal blog-y or too alt for most beauty brands to take notice. While teens posted photos of their overdrawn eyeliner, brands pushed airbrushed photos, and there wasn’t a connection between the two. Fast forward to the mid 2010’s, though, and golden hour pictures were everywhere, whether you were looking at a simple photo of someone’s dinner or came across the hottest brand’s latest campaign. We must note that while brands have traditionally made the trend and people follow, the golden hour craze hit different. People were the ones to start posting golden hour pics first, and it was the first time in popular Internet history that brands took notes from their customers, aligning their professional feeds to people’s lives. Not to get mushy about it, but without past content creators who set the scene for what made a “cool” online presence for people and brands alike, today’s TikTok It-Girls wouldn’t hold as much power in the beauty, fashion, and wellness industries (bows were big on TikTok before they hit the runway, after all). It brought the power to the people, so to speak, and it all comes back to photos people took during golden hour. So this holiday season, you have so many reasons to be golden and so many opportunities to create your own golden hour moments. 44

Turn Happy Hour Into Golden Hour – Our Favourite Fancy Bars Across the Country There’s a saying that says – “Never stay in a hotel that isn’t better than your own home”. Well, we feel the same way about cocktail bars. For us, gone are the days of sitting in seedy pubs or dark and dank bars sipping on watered down cocktails. If we’re stepping out, we love to be seated in a place that reminds us of a vacation, or better, a dream. The entire experience of enjoying a cocktail alone, on a date, with friends or in celebration, starts with the ambiance and ends with the last sip. And everything in between is about design, decor, service, creativity, flavours, sights, sounds and more. We’re always willing to pay a little bit more for memorable moments rich in sensory delight. For this issue of the Pleasure Edit: Golden Hour, we’ve scoured the country to reveal the most glamorous cocktail bars to pull up a seat, or two, and enjoy a precious moment, basking in the wonderment of just being golden. We hope you enjoy, visit and tell us all about it.

Louix Louis ST. REGIS HOTEL – TORONTO
Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel in Toronto’s financial district, Louix Louis is a place for daily indulgence. The opulent design is meant to invoke the feeling of being inside a crystal whiskey glass. Every guest that enters the room seems to experience the same joy of sensory overload as the bar transports them to a place of pleasure. We recommend the Vesper Martini and the 18 layer chocolate cake.
1927 Lobby Lounge ROSEWOOD HOTEL GEORGIA – VANCOUVER
A tribute to the luxury hotel’s opening year, the 1927 Lobby Lounge is a time machine to the private clubs of the people who built the city, the owners of railroads, shipping companies, mining firms and politicians. Formerly the Casablanca Lounge, the bar was one of the first rooms in Vancouver to serve alcohol. We recommend the Hotel Georgia cocktail, a classic made with gin, orangeat, orange blossom water and egg whites.
Marcus Bar and Lounge FOUR SEASONS HOTEL – MONTREAL
We love that at Marcus there is a bar for every occasion, whether it’s celebrating at the circular bar, sampling appetisers and wine at the main cocktail bar, or partying late night in the Marcus Lounge sipping martinis next to the DJ booth. The warm woods and natural light at Marcus is only outdone by the pleasant celebratory noise from every nook and cranny of the venue, filled with people living life in the gold standard of hospitality.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
A DOSE OF SARA KARDAN Obtaining pleasure begins with discomfort. You’ve probably heard this a thousand times before, but as a refresher, you must change who you are right now to get to where you want to be. Hearing about people successfully shifting gears from one lifestyle to the next can feel like something that only happens to influencers on social media, far away from any of our actual lives. However, we actually have a story of change right here at our home — meet the co-founder of Majesty’s Pleasure, Sara Kardan. Sara has had a life full of changes starting at age 7, when she and her family moved from Tehran, Iran, to Canada. Being a new kid in any school is difficult, but Sara faced the obstacle of re-learning practically everything as a kid in a new culture. Despite this, Sara pushed through the discomfort and eventually obtained a master’s degree in Interior Design and Architecture. Her love of beautiful spaces brought her to her degree, but Sara knew that something was still missing. In Persian culture, a host doesn’t just want to make their guests feel welcome; they want to make their guests feel at home. Sara felt that this hospitality (that was so heavily engrained in her fabric) was missing from most wellness spaces. So, she took another leap in life and quit her full-time job as an architect to begin Majesty’s Pleasure. Here, she could finally marry her two passions: creating luxurious interiors while making people feel comfort and ease. There’s pleasure in accomplishing your goals, especially when looking back on all the hurdles you had to overcome. Still, those aren’t the only pleasures in life — we sat down with Sara to chat about how she taps into small pleasures every day.

WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
WHAT’S YOUR PLEASURE RITUAL? I absolutely love being able to start my day off with exercise. It makes me feel healthy, strong, focused and clear-headed. As a working mom of two kids, alone time is hard to come by, so being able to workout at home, alone and enjoy a healthy homemade breakfast in the morning means everything to me. I’m a better version of myself when I make this happen. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BEAUTY/SKINCARE PRODUCTS AT THE MOMENT? One of my favourite things to talk about is products and packaging, there is just so much innovation and creativity out there! I have a bunch on the go I’m loving right now, less makeup and more skincare, I would say: Cutie Cuticle Oil, Sidia Hand Cream, Nudeskin Hydra-Peptide Lip Butter, Agent Nateur Holi (Bright) REsurface Glass Face Mask, Nudeskin Nudescrean Daily Mineral Veil SPF 30 (nude), Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer, 111Skin Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Mask and the Nudeskin Lemon-aid Detox & Glow Micro Peel. WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO NAIL LOOKS? Since we’ve started offering GEL-X Nail Extensions, they’ve been my go-to service. I love the length and strength of them, plus they keep me feeling sexy and feminine. I love that when date night comes around or I have an important meeting, I have long beautiful nails, it feels like an extension of my personality. Right now my go-to colours are classic reds, metallics and of course, gold chrome for the holiday season. WHAT’S YOUR COCKTAIL OF THE MOMENT? Ever since turning 40, I’m enjoying bubbles more! I’ve been living by the phrase: “life is too short not to celebrate every moment”. So I reach for a glass of champagne or prosecco, anytime, breakfast, brunch or dinner. For cocktails, I love whiskey, so a whiskey sour or maybe a half-sweet old-fashioned at a beautiful cocktail bar sounds perfect.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
HOW DO YOU SEEK PLEASURE? I find pleasure in a lot of the research I do for the brand and business. I love being inspired by design, fashion, beauty, travel, and people. I find pleasure in being innovative, hopeful and thinking about the future, as strange as that may sound. I also really love products and packaging. With 2024 right around the corner, I’m excited for us to start sharing some of our ideas as we launch our own products here in Canada and the U.S. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR GUILTY PLEASURES? A bowl of truffle pasta, getting my hair dyed, a night out dancing with my girls, a nature walk with my family, a plane ride to a new place, falling asleep during a movie, Paris, to name a few. Though, I must say... I don’t think I feel as guilty enjoying these, because there’s nothing wrong with enjoying pleasure in different ways every now and then. WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS THIS YEAR? The team was recognized for Best Manicure in 2023 by BlogTO this year. I was super proud of that accomplishment and it’s a wonderful achievement for our hard working artists. For personal achievements, I think committing to our expansionary efforts, signing a lease in New York and making further offers in other U.S cities is something I’m very proud of. On top of that we’ve done so much this year within the business, such as launching this magazine, the Pleasure Edit. It’s an amazing culmination of our curation efforts with nails, beauty, lifestyle and all things pleasure. It’s an incredible extension of our brand and just another amenity to enjoy with your service. And lastly, the launch of The Leisure Club, our exclusive membership offering. An Unlimited Gel Manicure membership, is such incredible value with an exciting club. None of this has been possible without the amazing people around me and we have so much more to come!

Holiday Gift Guide No matter how well you know your giftee inside and out, buying gifts for loved ones is daunting. Today, anyone can order anything for themselves, and people’s styles are constantly evolving — so it’s almost impossible to pin down the best gifts for your besties. The fool-proof route? Gifting an experience instead of a product, which obviously includes a trip to Majesty’s Pleasure. We know, shameless plug — but we truly think they’ll enjoy the space, whether they’re coming in for a cocktail and blowout or want to unwind with a massage. You can purchase a gift card by service (i.e., get them a gift card for a brow tinting service or a gift card for a full day of services) or by amount — this way, they can delve into any pleasure they want when they stop by. If your giftee isn’t in the neighborhood, there are still tons of products that make perfect gifts. Instead of categorizing these products to emphasize what you’ll be buying, we wanted to highlight who you’ll buy for. Ahead, a candid gift guide for everyone, from the person who only buys things because they look pretty to the person who will spend all winter inside their abode.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
For the Bed Dweller
We all know someone who stays in all winter long — these tools will help them ignite pleasure while lounging indoors.
DAME POM VIBRATOR ($125)
Because everyone has different buttons that push them over the edge — and no one knows one’s body better than themselves. This vibrator is an excellent gift since it’s all about external stimulation; they can either use this to ease into pleasure that doesn’t involve penetration (it’s not for everyone) or use this as an add on during partner play. FUR BATH DROPS ($51)
If your friend also is into a lazy girl routine, these bath drops will moisturize the skin without a single thought necessary. All they have to do is drop two or three of these seaweed-encased drops into their bath and allow the antioxidantrich oil blend seep into their skin. SIDIA SOAKED CANDLE ($68)
Getting out of bed feels like a nightmare when it’s cold outside — but even the hibernation girlies have to get up and get out every once in a while. This candle is perfect for creating an invigorating atmosphere in the morning — with pine and cedar notes, it’s very winter-y while still smelling like the lobby of a chic hotel. all products available at majestyspleasure.com 58
WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
For the It Girl
Whether she’s your sister, friend, or distant cousin, you probably have that one person who seems too chic to buy gifts for. Any of these gifts will fill her “IYKYK” needs — and they’ll make you the best gift-giver this year.
EMI JAY BIG EFFING CLIP IN CHERRY KISS ($45)
Red is everywhere this season, and there’s no better way to incorporate the color than with accessories. Emi Jay is well-loved by It-Girls like Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner — but the best part? They keep hair in place for hours and last for what feels like forever. IIISKIN THE JETSETTER KIT ($50)
This set was basically made for the girl who always gets all the add-ons during dinner tastings. It’s luxe, it’s chic, and it’s got a variety of eye masks to choose from, from a celeb-loved black diamond contouring mask to a sub-zero depuffing mask. JINSOON NIFTY POLISH ($22.50)
The holidays are prime time for fun metallic pieces. Still, the girlies may be tired of constantly wearing the same glitzy dresses in a different color year after year. This nail polish will help them wear something reflective and fun without turning themselves into walking disco balls (no shade, though).

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
For the Hydration Obsessed
Glazed skin is still everything, but it’s hard to come by when temps are below freezing. Your giftee can enjoy some mid-winter hydration with these goodies.
GROWN ALCHEMIST HYDRA + BODY KIT ($49)
Bodycare is skincare, too, and this kit is a nofrills way to get smooth, glowing skin from head to toe. The body cream melts into the skin like butter, leaving behind mandarin and rosemary leaf to nourish the skin. The hand cream creates a similar silky texture in the skin, moisturizes the cuticles, and smells like yummy orange creamsicle with both vanilla and orange peel inside. SKIN GYM HOLIDAY GUA SHA & OIL SET ($58)
Gua sha is having a moment on #SkinTok right now, (even though it’s been around for ages a la TCM), and there’s no using a gua sha stone without a good face oil. This rose quartz stone is perfect for moving stagnant lymph and sculpting the face, while rose oil amps up glow while minimizing inflammation. LE PARADIS JAMAICA LIP BALM ($32)
Banana may seem like a divisive scent at first, but it lives at the center of everything, whether your friend is into sweet, rich, or fruity fragrances. This creates pillowy, soft lips with sweet almond oil and shea butter and will remind them of a tropical getaway while they’re in the throes of winter. all products available at majestyspleasure.com 60

For the One Who Loves Aesthetics
You know that one person who doesn’t care about the products inside but is all about displaying pretty packaging? Well, these products are the best of both worlds — they’ll look great on any bedside table or vanity while *actually* delivering excellent results. MAISON LOUIS MARIE NO 03 LETANG NOIR ($45)
While simmer pots are fun to do during the holidays, they’re honestly a hassle to do on a daily schedule. This chic candle looks amazing on any bath ledge, mantle, or desk, and combines warm, wintery scents like vanilla, tobacco, anise, nutmeg, and clove. FRENCH GIRL LAVANDE SEA SOAK ($29)
Today’s “hot or not” lists switch out on an almost daily basis — where today’s nepo blonde hair color may be everything, tomorrow it can become old news to the point of being cringe. This simple-yetelegant salt soak will stand the test of time and go with any decor — and help your friend unwind with a soothing lavender scent. NUDEBODY PEPTIDE CREME ($48)
Is it me, or do people hold onto their body creams forever? Help your bestie replace her old creams with this one, which comes in a chic little pink and black jar. It’s full of alpha-hydroxy acids to exfoliate the skin, while coconut oil moisturizes, and yuzu, bergamot, and lavender create a serene olfactory moment. all products available at majestyspleasure.com 61

Why Being Single Is Your Superpower This Holiday Season
@selenagomez
@mindykaling
With the holidays comes the pressure to arrive as your “best.” Whether that’s casually showing up to a family function in Prada or explaining your laundry list of professional achievements to friends, the holidays are like an end-of-year celebration where everyone looks back on (and gloats over) what they’ve done. This can be all fun and games — until someone asks why you’re still single.

WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
If you thought it was just from the sweet grandmother who’d “like to see greatgrandbabies soon,” you’re wrong. It’s also from the freshly-engaged cousin who reminds you that “your time will come;” it’s from your friend who tries to set you up with their single sibling because “you’ve always been like a sister, anyway;” and it’s especially from couples at holiday parties that cling onto other couples, as though they’re in some sort of relationship cult no one told you about. It sends the message that your many successes amount to nothing without a partner by your side. It begs the question: why do people try so hard to coerce singles into relationships? According to a 2006 research article published in the Current Directions in Psychological Science, “people who are single are targets of singlism: negative stereotypes and discrimination.” The researchers asked 1000 undergrad students how they perceive married vs. single people; while they generally said good things about married people, singles were regarded as “immature, maladjusted, and selfcentered.” (As if there aren’t immature, maladjusted, and self-centered people in relationships…) So, it can be as simple as loved ones wanting to protect you from these labels or as complex as people spewing hate because of issues they have within themselves. Regardless, these judgments are based more on people’s abstract perception of singlehood rather than the single people that they actually know IRL. You, however, know you’re a responsible, caring, and lovable person — and you’re honestly as precious as gold, whether or not you’re in a relationship. Of course, if being in a relationship is one of your life goals, we won’t vilify you for wanting to pair up — we just don’t want you to feel like you have to dull your shine simply because you’re doing the holidays solo this year. In the meantime, if people hit you with judgment this season, you can try out the following tips.
63
PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
SET BOUNDARIES This one’s self-explanatory, but you must let people know when certain topics are offlimits. You don’t have to be super righteous, per se — simply saying, I don’t want to talk about that, and then changing the subject should be enough.
FOCUS ON LOVED ONES The people who truly love you will always accept you — so take inventory of those who allow you to be yourself and spend time with them this year. Plus, it’ll be a great reminder that you don’t always have to feel romantic love to feel loved.
TREAT YOURSELF If you’re stuck in your hometown where everyone has an opinion on your love life, then take. the. day. Seriously, nothing is keeping you from leaving the house for a bit — go for a solo massage (we offer them, JSYK), sign up for a class, or take yourself out on a cute dinner date.
CREATE TRADITIONS Right down to the foods we eat and clothes we wear, the holidays are so heavily rooted in tradition. You can create your own by hosting a themed party with friends or running a yearly 5K for charity.
TAKE A HOLIDAY If going home for the holidays is too much, do what single people can freely do (and what everyone in relationships envy): travel. Trust us, you won’t care about anyone’s opinion when you’re sipping on a macchiato in the middle of Italy.

Fool-Proof Ways To Tap Into Cozy Pleasure This Winter
66
WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
Winter is all about cozying up, right? You stock up on chic blankets, cable-knit sweaters, and as many fuzzy socks as you can get your hands on. But…is that all? We’re often pushed this idea that as soon as the temperatures drop below freezing, all that’s left to do is stay inside, hibernate, and maybe make a stew or two until spring arrives. Sure, this sounds lovely at first, but doing nothing but bundling up and watching movies gets very old very quickly — instead of calming our nerves, it can leave us feeling cabin feverish or just straight-up bored. Think of it like pairing a could-be-moody all-black outfit with a STATEMENT (yes, statement and all caps) gold necklace; there’s just so much pleasure in having fun, especially in situations that could’ve otherwise been gloomy. Thus, here are a few ways to maintain both coziness and fun pleasure this winter.
MASTURBATION MEDITATION Because orgasms and pleasure go hand in hand. Masturbation meditation (or MM) is different from your average solo play. Instead of just focusing on masturbating to climax, this practice focuses more on using your touch to feel pleasure from your head to your toes. There aren’t any rules when it comes to MM, but here are a few pointers. Firstly, set the mood (hello, candles, pillow sprays, and binaural beats) and set aside about half an hour for your MM session. Then, starting at your hands and feet, massage yourself slowly, working your way to your heart. After that, you can begin to go south — we recommend implementing sex toys that stimulate the clitoris (like the Dame Pom Vibrator, $125). If you want to take it a step further, you can also opt for the Dame Arc Vibrator ($155) — its pointed tip works to stimulate your clitoris externally, while its curved handle works to stimulate your G-spot internally. One thing to note is that just like typical meditation, you’ll want to focus on your breath — so leave the raunchy p*rn out of this ( just this once!). Instead, use all your senses to experience yourself — feel the softness of your skin, smell the candles or incense in your room, and see how your body releases tension and relaxes as you continue to love on yourself.

PLEASURE EDIT – GOLDEN HOUR
SWEAT IT OUT There’s a TikTok trend for everything in life, whether you’re talking hair, nails, or fashion. The latest fitness trend is “cozy cardio,” which pushes easy cardio movements you can do in the comfort of your home. It’s great because during a season when you don’t want to go anywhere, it’s basically like pulling teeth to make the trek to the gym. Plus, winter almost fetishizes laying in bed all day — it’s great to have a trend that emphasizes getting up and moving around. TikTokers are tapping into using walking pads and under-desk ellipticals while they watch TV, scroll through social media, or even work at their standing desk. These machines are great if you have the space to store them — if you need something that doesn’t involve clunky equipment, though, you can try sign up for virtual HIIT or pilates classes to get your heart pumping.
EVERYTHING BATH You take an everything shower — why not extend the notion to your bath routine, too? Whereas an everything shower is perfect for getting every trace of grime off your hair and body, an everything bath is more about pampering every last part of you. First, you’ll want to throw your phone into the abyss because you deserve to have a bit of me-time without the constant ping of notifications. Then, use a moisturizing bath soak (the Agent Nateur Holi Rose Infused Calming Coconut Milk Bath, $85, is perf for this) paired with a detoxifying salt soak. Next, set up the ambiance to fit your mood. Are you more of a wine-and-Gilmore-Girls type of bather, or are you more into listening to nature sounds with a million lit candles and healing crystals around you? Whichever way you choose, create a pressure-free space with the things that’ll make you feel the most at ease (not what you think a “calming” evening should look like). Pro tip: Just remember to bring a carafe of water with you! Nothing is calming about getting out of your bath for a drink. Finally, mask every part of yourself that won’t be submerged in water. Wear a hair mask like the Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask ($37), plus your fave face mask that suits your skin’s needs. Et, voila, a bath so good, you’ll never want to get out. all products mentioned available at majestyspleasure.com 68

Here’s What (As A Hot Girl) You Can Wear To Any Holiday Party The holiday season is a nightmare for your cortisol levels — you’re planning gifts, preparing to host parties, and gearing up to see the family. On top of this, it’s also one of the only times during the year when you’ve got a celebration with family, friends, and work all around the same time. Dressing for holiday parties is tricky because what you wear with your family won’t be the same thing you wear out with your friends, and what you wear out with your friends certainly won’t be the same thing you wear with your coworkers. It can feel restrictive to your true Hot Girl style to go for more conservative outfits in certain social situations. Still, there’s a chance in every situation to feel unique and glam — just like gold. As they say, if there’s a will, there’s a way — ahead, a guide on dressing like your true hot-girl self while adhering to the unspoken holiday party dress codes.

WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
Dressing for a party back home is tricky because there’s always the chance that virtually nobody will understand the vibes. In the case that your favourite divisive leather Diesel skirt wouldn’t work for lunch at grandma’s, you’ll want to use a little bit for me, little bit for them outfit formula. First, invest in statement accessories (like hair bows, glitzy drop earrings, or patent leather kitten heels) that speak to your heart. It doesn’t matter how “out there” they are — these accessories are the “little bit for me” part of your outfit. For the “little bit for them” part, you can still opt for a “cool girl” dress, pantsuit, or skirt and top, you’ll just want to make sure that it’s in a holiday color palette. A flowy red dress with a long velvet hair bow is everything for a proper dinner. If your family is more chill, though, a freshwater pearl necklace will go great with any turtleneck-and-skirt outfit.

TikTok gave a second breath of life to Gisele Bündchen’s cameo in Devil Wears Prada, and almost every It Girl now dresses like they’re about to send a fax from their chic 9-5. Officewear (which many people say fits a “hot librarian” aesthetic) is everything right now, and we’re primarily seeing it pop up in brands like Miu Miu and on people like Bella Hadid and Devon Lee Carlson. Pinstripes are the easiest way to get this look — go for a simple navy and white pinstripe pant with a crisp white shirt for an authentic mid-2000s office vibe. If your office is relaxed, go the hotter — but still HR-appropriate — route and wear a Kate Moss-inspired mini wool blend dress (Reformation’s Willene Dress is perf for this). Either way, don’t forget to pair the look with a slicked-back bun, pointed-toe heels or boots, and some rectangular reading glasses.

Here’s where things can get a little bit more fun. If you and your friends basically get together to let loose and have a great time, then the possibilities are endless when it comes to choosing your outfit for a night out. You can go for virtually anything that screams “going out” and reflects your personal style. For a stylish and versatile option, consider wearing a halter dress paired with a vibrant red corsage. This chic ensemble will make you stand out and feel confident whether you’re going out for a nice dinner, hitting the club, or even doing both in one night! On the other hand, if you and your friends prefer attending more sophisticated and upscale events, you can opt for anything silky and elegant. The smooth and luxurious fabric will add a touch of sophistication to your look, making you feel like the belle of the ball at any adult soiree you attend.

Our Top Gold Nail Polishes for this Holiday It’s ironic that despite being barren and cold, winter is the season of glitz. Though most literature classes will teach you that the winter often symbolizes dreary times, it’s *actually* the time of year where wearing glitter lipstick just seems normal, and almost everyone is off to some party wearing a feather-and-sequin mini dress. It’s why gold, though traditionally a summery hue, plays in perfectly to the already-lively mood during this time of year. To take it a step further, we believe that gold combines luxury with confidence and warmth, which are pillars for leading a pleasurable life. We’re dedicating this season’s manicures to the color — ahead are our favourite gilded nail polish colors.

Golden Hour Essie Good As Gold You want to know the best part about golden hour? It’s the light pink and baby blue cotton candy skies. If you’re into the idea of wearing a pastel polish but want to add glitz, then this nail polish’s faint gold color and reflective metallic sheen will bridge the gap.
Midas Touch Chanel Le Vernis Phénix OK, maybe not everything you touch turns to gold — but you can at least paint your nails as though it does? This is a great gold polish to go with those bold, glitzy holiday looks.
Gold Mine OPI Infinite Shine - Sleigh Bells Bling There’s something inspiring about finding gold in nature — despite it being raw and unpolished, it still bejewels us enough to seek it out. This nail polish is just like that; though it has a slightly earthy undertone, it’ll capture your attention indefinitely.
Gilded Nails CND Vinylux Get That Gold It’s almost impossible to get a chrome-like finish without a chrome powder, but this nail polish comes pretty close. If you want it to look like you’re wearing actual 24K on your fingertips, then dip into this.

Pale straw in colour, defined aromas of roasted nuts, rye bread toast and grapefruit; the palate is extra-dry with just-shy-of-medium body. One for you, two for me.
The Brunch, Lunch, I want to be a Star, Pick VEUVE CLICQUOT RICH - $99.95 The lesser known sweet cousin of the classic yellow jacket Veuve Clicquot, Rich is the perfect star for brunch, lunch or any version of day drinking coming up. The amazing thing about this crowd pleaser, other than its spectacular metallic bottle art and “rich” graphic design, is that it was designed to enjoy with food, in your glass! A proper Veuve Rich experience is to offer a buffet station of everything from berries and mangos to cucumber, green and red peppers and mint. Believe it or not, the veggies are the real stars - with cucumber and red pepper as a personal favourite, complementing the champagne’s natural pear, spiced nuts and sweet floral tones. So try this one out, but buy 2-3 bottles cause the crowd is going to want an encore or three. 82

From The Butterfly Blowout To The ‘90s Flip, Here Are 5 Blowouts To Try This Winter Life isn’t all about the grand events that happen every now and then — it’s the little pleasures that make life golden. Case in point: there’s almost nothing better than stepping out of the salon with a fresh blowout; you stand up straighter, perhaps turn a head or two, and enjoy looking and feeling chic. While getting a blowout provides the one-two punch of minimizing at-home hairstyling and feeling like you just went to a spa for your scalp, repeatedly going for the same blowout style is …a bit lackluster (the nice word for boring). But you’re not lackluster — you shine like gold. Ahead are the five top blowouts to try this winter*.

WISPY VOLUME AKA, hair that also looks like a Pam Anderson updo if it weren’t…an updo. This blowout has wispy pieces that give hair movement and a laissez-faire Pamapproved look, while overgrown curtain bangs frame the face beautifully. Plus, it’s volume is pretty replicable for most hair types. @onlybells_
NEW HOLLYWOOD It’s like an Old Hollywood blowout, but less Jessica Rabbit. Side parts have been circulating in and out of style for the past few years, but every time we see one, it’s slick. We’re dubbing this the “New Hollywood” style, as it has the same sideswept shape of a classic glamour blowout without all the weighty volume.
@haileybieber
90’s FLIP Which also just looks like New England prep school hair (hi, Rory Gilmore). This is great for people with fine hair, as it adds shape mainly at the ends, which shouldn’t run the risk of losing volume throughout the day. @jesshunt2 85

Butterfly Blowout Our FYP’s feed us new trends every week, and if a hairstyle stays popular for longer than a month, you know it’s a good one. It’s the case for the butterfly blowout, which calls for a modern-day rendition on a Farah Fawcett blowout. While Fawcett blowouts are more about creating flippy fluff, the butterfly blowout takes the same flippy shape with a sleeker finish. The result still boasts tons of volume, but just in a postturn-of-the-century way.
@haileesteinfeld
‘80s Après Fluff Was it some sort of secret that everyone who went skiing in the ‘80s needed this blowout? Regardless, this style is perfect for maximum movement and body while still looking somewhat natural. If your style is more Phoebe Philo than Céline, you’ll have a good time pairing this blowout with globby metallic earrings, a fitted cashmere sweater, and pleated pants. @matildadjerf

Bakhoor, Perfume Oil, Eau De Parfum — Here’s How To Layer Various Types of Scents

WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
When shopping for fragrances, you want to choose something that’ll become your signature. And by signature, we don’t just mean the perfume you’ll wear every day — it’s the scent that makes you as rare as gold. There’s something sexy and empowering about people knowing you’re in a room just by your smell alone. Still, getting them to sense your scent is challenging if you’re wearing the same fragrance as everyone else. But you don’t have to throw away your favourite viral body sprays or EDPs just yet. The trick to making your current fave your signature? It’s by layering with other scents. Ahead, an explanation of the do’s and don’ts of layering every type of fragrance.
CONSIDER SCENT NOTES Firstly, make sure the fragrances you layer are different in every way — it just doesn’t make sense to layer a vanilla perfume oil with a vanilla body spray. Do your research and figure out if your chosen fragrance falls under one of the four prominent scent families: fresh, floral, woody, or deep. (“Deep” means sweet, warm, or spicy scents. Its official name is “oriental,” but that was made years ago by a bunch of old white men and hasn’t been updated despite industry outrage. So we’re changing it to “deep” for this story.) Once you’ve figured out your base scent, accent your fragrance with ones from different scent families. To be even more nit-picky, each scent family has a delicate-to-complex spectrum, and pairing two heady scents can cause an overwhelming “what is that” reaction instead of a “who is that” one. You can easily make this mistake by pairing a “deep” resin scent with a “woody” tobacco. To avoid an overpowering scent cocktail, accent one deep scent with one or two lighter ones. This may sound like a lot, but bear with us — using three perfume oils can confuse your nose since they all share the same intensity. Instead, use various fragrance products that dissipate at different levels to make your bespoke scent last all day, and layer them from heaviest to lightest. Here’s the order in which you should apply your fragrance products:

Bakhoor: AKA scented wood chips that you use to smoke your hair. This technique is widely used in Arab countries but is making its way to the rest of the world at lightning speed. Scented smoke is pretty intense, so bakhoor is always a great places to start. Fragrance Creams: There’s a reason why all those holiday fragrance sets come with lotions, body sprays, and parfums — fragrance creams are a great way to create a full-body base scent for the rest of your fragrances. Perfume Oil: Perfume oil are like essential oils in that one drop is likely enough for an intense payoff. Lightly dab perfume oil onto your pulse points, like your neck, wrists, elbow creases, behind the ears, and behind the knees. Eau de Parfum: Or EDP, This is your standard “perfume” and a quick spritz on the pulse points should be enough to create a scent that lasts all day. Eau de Toilette: If you want to enjoy a more low-key day, you can swap out your EDP for this fresher fragrance type instead. The same rules apply here: just a few sprays on the pulse points should be enough. Body Spray: Finally, you can finish your entire scent cocktail with a quality body spray. To avoid smelling like you’ve just left a perfume counter, spray the air in front of you, step under the mist, and allow the droplets to settle onto your skin gently. And for the most critical fragrance layering tip: just have fun with it and love what you’ve got on. After all, the best way to make an impression on others is to have confidence in what you’re wearing. It may take a bit of trial and error, but you’ll get to your signature scent in no time.

GOLDEN HOUR ASTROLOGY
Virgo Lots of people peg Taurus as the cozy-loving sign, but you’re a close second, Virgo. The best way to feel like pure gold this season is by working hard and relaxing harder. After work or school (which, BTW, you will thrive in this season if you create clear goals), set up a wind-down routine full of candles, warm baths, and even some adult toys.
Libra You’re all about balance, Libra, so use this time indoors to bring some harmony to your relationships, romantic or otherwise. It won’t be easy — you’re going to have to deal with conflict, hurt feelings, and things that you may have thought would be left unsaid forever. But keep your head up — when you resolve these issues, you’ll be left with stronger connections for the rest of the season.
Scorpio The winter can be sexy, and if anyone knows that, it’s you, Scorpio. You have a knack for bringing passion to any situation, whether it’s pleasure, business, or a combination of the two. Use this energy to realllllly uncover the things that give you a sense of purpose in life — not just the things you think you should be doing.
Saggitarius Yeah, yeah, we know, plan a trip. Does everyone always only give Sags advice to travel? Whether or not there’s a trip on your winter plans, you should never limit your adventurous nature only to travel — extend your need to explore inward, too. This can be as fun as learning a new hobby or as healing as doing shadow work; the bottom line is that this is your season, and you’ll want to use this time to learn about yourself.
Capricorn Imagine how hard it is to stick to an ambitious New Year’s resolution despite EVERYTHING telling you to take a break — that’s what it’s like to be a Capricorn 24/7/365. The winter *is* when you typically flourish, and telling a Capricorn not to work is like telling gold not to glimmer — so, please, go forth with your 10,000 side hustles and rack in that coin. Consider finding hobbies that nourish your soul and don’t involve the phrase “passive income.”
Aquarius Other than bringing otherwordly ideas to any situation, you also bring bursts of energy that can liven anyone’s spirits. While everyone else is down with the winter blues, use your vibrant personality to ignite your friend group in a positive way. It can be as luxe as planning a girls trip or as chill as heading to the salon (wink, wink) for a group pampering.

WINTER 2023/2024 – ISSUE N O 2
Pisces Pisces, we assume you feel right at home during the cooler months. As the most spiritual, self-reflective sign in the zodiac, you can use this time to explore what true pleasure means to you. Is it fine-tuning your perfect morning routine? Or is it going out on dates with people who value the true you? You’ll only find out once you look within.
Aries Aries, you know you’re fiery because you begin the astrological calendar, right? The winter may make you want to curl up under the covers until signs of spring pop up, but don’t lose sight of your gilded nature — you’ll thrive the most this winter if you channel your energy into your goals and self-discovery.
Taurus OK, so you’re not a winter sign — but your leisure-loving nature definitely screams “cool weather,” Taurus. Prepare for the winter in the way you know best; by creating cozy and warm vibes in your space. It’ll help you recharge to focus on building things like relationships and new hobbies.
Gemini Gemini, you traditionally have two sides of you, and the cool weather may bring out the “hot and cold” parts of you. You can avoid coming off as too cold this winter by staying true to how you feel and communicating your needs unapologetically. Honesty really is the best policy during this season, so don’t feel the need to mask your truth.
Cancer Of all the astrological signs, you’re the most in touch with your emotions, Cancer. Unfortunately, this means that winter sadness might hit you especially hard — stay consistent with your self-care routines and keep your loved ones close for extra support.
Leo The best advice for you, golden Leo? Get out of town. Specifically, go somewhere where you can leave the house without a winter coat — as the sun of the zodiac, you’ll thrive during as many sun-filled getaways you can take this winter. If that’s not an option for you, though, make sure to go on a walk while the sun is in the sky and engage in creative activities to help you feed your fire.
