Welcome to the Pleasure Edit: Midnights on Madison Ave Edition

Everyone has a unique love affair with New York. For us, New York has always been the city that inspires us to transform. Taking cues from the ever expanding offering of the New York manicure membership we launched The Leisure Club, Majesty’s Pleasure very own membership club in 2023. Our latest inspiration comes in the form of a brand new venue, Majesty’s Pleasure Flatiron New York. The city continues to be dotted by new private members clubs focused on socializing, dining and entertainment. And so we went and did it, and brought to New York, the very first Social Beauty Club.

Upon entering the brand new Majesty’s Pleasure Flatiron, you’re immersed in the world of the Social Beauty Club, where self-care and pleasure are the common goal and luxury is paramount. Inspired by the ambiance of a contemporary and feminine vibe, the space is multi-layered with colors of cream, rose and blush with brass accents to combine a moment of serenity with a luxurious moment of romance. There’s a feminine feeling of romance, socializing, and sophistication. We’ve doubled down on comfort with the Leisure Lounge, a brand new VIP section dedicated to lay down manicures, pedicure and LED facials, complete with an amenity menu straight out of business class.

And so it’s fitting that we’re dedicating this issue of Pleasure Edit, to New York, with the theme: Midnights on Madison Ave. While the brough colors of summer will always be there, we’re inspired by those hot summer nights, a moment when you know that things are obviously happening as you pass popping clubs and restaurants every few blocks, but you also feel a sense of tranquility when you walk down those sleepy tree-lined streets. NYC nights effortlessly combine romance, luxury, and serenity — qualities that are essential to pleasure.

In this edition, we’ll explore this season’s hottest nail, hair, and fashion trends; explore how people actually make friends in this city; and uncover the best way to do your makeup in the back of an Uber. We’ll guide you through the city’s hottest spots, as told by an NYC native, and hear a few words from It-Girls Ella Rose McFadin and Grace Kim.

Join us as we celebrate the opening of Majesty’s Pleasure Flatiron and take time to indulge in self-care and pleasure. Summer evenings await.

A Local’s Guide to the Best of the Best in NYC

If you’re visiting New York, chances are, the locals can tell; you’re likely beelining for the Empire State Building and practically waiting for someone to shout, “Hey, I’m walkin’ here!” The spirit of New York is alive and well, yet amidst its boundless energy, it’s easy to overlook the city’s hidden gems. Let this list, curated by a native New Yorker, guide you through the best places to eat, sip, and shop in NYC. If you blink, you might miss it!

Grabbing a drink at night?

In the city that never sleeps, neither do we. Whether you’re grabbing a drink with a friend or trying to impress a date, these spots are sure to get the job done. If you find yourself by the Roxy Hotel, be sure to check out its underground jazz club, The Django. This subterranean gem is sure to get you into the New York groove with handcrafted cocktails accompanied by a live jazz performance. The Parisian architecture takes you, momentarily, out of New York’s urban landscape, with a cavelike structure and brick exposed walls. Dante is a classic, but for good reason – the iconic space has been standing since 1915, though recently bought out by new owners. The Instagram-worthy interior is made better only by the refreshing Italian cocktails served at the bar. I’d also recommend Jean’s – that is, if you can snag a table. After some light bites, head down to the cocktail bar in the basement, which is only “occasionally open,” adorned with a disco ball and a checkered floor.

The Django, TriBeCa, at Roxy Hotel Dante, West Village

Best Wine Bars

If you’re looking for a classier sip, head over to one of the many wine bars in New York. On the Lower East Side you’ll find a petite wine bar called Le Dive, which is a hub for the self-proclaimed sommeliers of Dimes Square. Le Dive also serves small bites, like oysters and charcuterie, which could make for a cute work postgame (though, take off your pumps – you’ll be waiting an hour before you’re seated.) You should also check out James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem’s The Four Horsemen, a quaint spot in Brooklyn with an extensive natural wine list and delectable small plates. Gem Wine is also always a crowd-favorite, boasting a comfortable and homey atmosphere, good wine, and some seasonal dishes that wouldn’t hurt digging into.

Daytime Hangout

If you’re tuckered out from all the drinking I’ve assigned you thus far, here’s your chance to sit down and smell the roses… or, more frankly, the roasted nuts stand on the corner. Relax and debrief your night over matcha at Sorate, a Japanese teahouse that sources their product from a family-owned farm in Kyoto. Matchaful, a female-founded café with a delectable (and sustainable!) matcha. Maman is a must-go, if you’re a fan of charming decor and buttery pastries.

Best Plant-Based Places

For anyone looking for some vegan spots in the city, and I’m sure there’s a lot of you, Spicy Moon is at the top of my list. This vegan szechuan option boasts Dan-Dan Sichuan noodles that are to-die-for. Le Petit Monstre, a patisserie in Brooklyn, offers vegan options of pastries, cakes, and more. Lastly, Le Botaniste, the first organic, plant-based, and carbon-neutral restaurant in the city, has a versatile wine and food menu. The spot is dedicated to sustainability and clean recipes.

Dinner Spots

After grabbing a traditional New York slice, head out for some less traditional, but equally delectable, meals. The Odeon, a beloved city staple since 1980, is a classic spot for group dinners and, with its classic neon sign, an elegant reminder of NY’s past. The steak tartare is a favorite, but make sure you get the Cosmopolitan – it was invented here. Indochine is another fun group pick, especially by the fashionforward crowd. The French-Vietnamese food is far less interesting than the scene that Indochine attracts, but both are memorable. Dinner for two? Check out Lucien, the artsy French bistro in the East Village. Its walls are adorned with signed photographs from its famous clientele, an homage to its allure amongst New Yorkers. Scalinatella is my family’s, and Jimmy Fallon’s, personal favorite. Past its unassuming exterior and down a small flight of steps lies the authentic and intimate Italian bistro.

Hotels for Staycations with a Lover

If you’re anything like me, you may want to get out of the city without going through the process of actually getting out of the city. Located in the heart of TriBeCa, The Greenwich Hotel is home to 88 luxurious rooms and suites, of which no two are alike. Amenities like its Shibui spa make the gorgeous hotel tenfold more appealing. For the minimalist, in what used to be a bank lies Nine Orchard, a new, well-designed hotel offering unmatched views of the city. Not only are the rooms – which are cutely labeled like a NYC apartment building – beautiful, but the food and drink scene here is wonderful on its own.

Best Place to Shop in Flatiron

I may be biased, but I think Flatiron has some of the best shopping in the city. Treat yourself to a shopping spree, because, well, you deserve it! Be sure to check out Aesop, a luxury brand with an extensive collection of plant-based skincare, haircare, fragrance, and travel kits. If you’re a fiend for a good deal, and you don’t mind waiting in a line around the block, go to 260 Sample, which offers large percentages off designer brands weekly.

PLEASURE RITUAL

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

Every day looks so different for me, but here is an ideal day:

7am wake up

8am drink a mineral water and answer immediate emails

10am dog walk and coffee

11am breakfast, right now it is coconut yogurt, granola & berries

12pm workout: hot yoga, pilates, 12-3-30, strength

training or Time Under Tension App

1pm sauna & cold plunge

2pm back to admin & computer work

3pm shoot and post any content or brand deals

5pm plan dinner or go grab easy groceries from Marlow & Daughters, take Crispy to dog park

6pm eat dinner with my boyfriend

7pm answer a few more emails or get final work done for the day

8pm watch a show and cuddle my pup

10pm bed time

HOW DO YOU SEEK PLEASURE FOR YOURSELF? I live for a sauna session to clear my head and sweat. I always leave feeling ready to tackle my to-do list and the rest of the day. I also love a long cuddle with my dog, Crispy, on the couch. Balance!

WHAT IS YOUR COCKTAIL OF THE MOMENT? I am actually loving a cucumber gimlet style mocktail at the moment. I think it works as a great cocktail replacement on nights you are channeling your inner wellness girlie and avoiding a hangover.

WHAT IS YOUR DAILY SKINCARE + BEAUTY ROUTINE? I keep my skincare pretty simple. I wash my face AM & PM and use Clearstem Skincare! It has no pore clogging ingredients and doesn’t irritate my perioral dermatitis. I also love my Therabody LED mask whenever I have the time. For daily makeup - my go to is also simple. Concealer, brow gel, bronzer, blush, lip oil and curling my lashes. Clean beauty is big for me, so brand’s like my own, Skin by Ella, and Saie are my favorites, but I do love trying new products and playing around with makeup.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF SELF-CARE? As an influencer and business owner, my day to day schedule is always different. Some days are glued to my computer on emails and calls, other days are spent at events, running errands or Alo gym sessions. I try to move my body as much as I can during the week as it always makes me feel better and more energized. I also love being a home body so I think that + a good night’s sleep every night is the true (& simple) definition of self-care for me personally. well-being. So, to me, self-care is putting first the tasks in your life that are necessary to feel your best whether that’s meal prepping, reading, going to bed early, time with family, etc.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO/MOST EXCITED ABOUT WITH MAJESTY’S PLEASURE COMING TO NEW YORK? A place to spend a full day (& head to toe) of self care! Cannot wait for a girl’s day here.

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT OF BUILDING SKIN BY ELLA ROSE?

I don’t want to speak too soon. But I think it will happen towards the end of summer 2024! Building a brand isn’t easy (especially in clean beauty), but I really wanted to create products that are an extension of me and that I personally use day in and day out. I am so excited to get the new line in everyone’s hands.

WHAT WAS THE GAP YOU FOUND IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY AND WHY YOU FOUNDED THE BRAND SKIN BY ELLA ROSE? The main inspiration for the brand was that I was feeling intimidated by makeup. I watched girls online, and some friends, do their makeup routine and try new makeup looks and I never felt connected to it in that way or talented enough to participate. However, I did always love a simple routine and felt more confident wearing makeup that enhanced my features rather than ‘covering up’. Our products are simple, clean and help people feel confident in their day to day makeup routine without feeling overwhelmed by all the products on the market.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCTS FROM SKIN BY ELLA ROSE? Right now I am currently loving our eyebrow gel (I use it every single day) and our headbands. They are the best accessory and look so cute in the summer.

WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO PLACES IN NEW YORK?

Butler Coffee Shop (mainly for their pastries & dog treats)

Coat of Arms (for the best strawberry matcha of all time)

With Others (for a wine and snack)

Four Horsemen for dinner

Corepower Yoga Sculpt to tone and sweat

Akari for wellness activities (sauna & cold plunge)

WHAT IS YOUR DAILY SKINCARE + BEAUTY ROUTINE? I keep my skincare pretty simple. I wash my face AM & PM and use Clearstem Skincare! It has no pore clogging ingredients and doesn’t irritate my perioral dermatitis. I also love my Therabody LED mask whenever I have the time.

So, to me, self-care is putting first the tasks in your life that are necessary to feel your best whether that’s meal prepping, reading, going to bed early, time with family, etc.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Slow down, time is everything. good things take time, healing takes time.

“The main inspiration for the brand was feeling intimidated by makeup and never feeling confident using it the way I saw friends and beauty influencers. In recent years, I discovered that a more natural approach to makeup was exactly what I was looking for and suited me best. With the rise of clean beauty standards in the industry overall and having that entrepreneurial spirit within myself, I was inspired to create my everyday staples that I felt confident using and knew were clean. Building this brand has been years in the making and I could not be more thrilled to share Skin by Ella with all of you!”

Everyone In This City Does Their Makeup In An Uber

Here Are The Best Product Types To Store In Your Bag For On-The-Go Makeup

You spend a lot of time in order to look your best—you sign up for early-morning pilates classes, get your nails done every two weeks, and give yourself what is basically an at-home facial each night—all while making sure to get a solid eight hours of sleep. What’s more, since you live in the city, you’re doing it all between meetings, late-night dinners, and the endless stream of social events.

Some people make it look effortless to have a stacked schedule while still making time for things like a full makeup look—but know that they’re all just doing things when they can, whether it’s in a public restroom, on the train, or in the backseat of an Uber. These are basically the city’s unofficial makeup stations—it’s just that no one admits to it fully. In a city where every minute counts, mastering the art of on-the-go makeup can be a game-changer—here are some essentials to store in your bag.

Full Coverage Concealer

Multi-Use Products

When space and time are limited, multi-use products are a lifesaver. Look for anything that has 2-in-1 in its title, like a lip and cheek tint. Products like these not only save space in your bag but also simplify the application process, allowing you to achieve a cohesive look with minimal effort.

Whether you even opt for a full-coverage look or not doesn’t really matter—what you want most is a product that can cover up anything from a simple dark circle to an entire patch of hyperpigmentation. This can replace your need for foundation on days when you don’t have time to do your makeup at home.

Clear Lip Balm

This should be your desert island product—the one you carry if you have virtually no space in your bag for makeup. Not only does this act as a lip balm, but it can also tame stray brow hairs, add a highlight to your cheekbones, and work as a hand and elbow moisturizer.

NUDESTIX Nudies Cream Blush All-Over-Face Color
Tower 28 Beauty Swipe All-Over Hydrating Serum Concealer
NUDESTIX Hydrating Peptide Lip Butter

Cream Bronzer

Bonus points if it’s in a compact with a mirror. You’ll want to choose a bronzer that simply warms your complexion—nothing with chunks of glitter or a high-shine dewy finish. This will make using your bronzer as a contour a breeze, and, in a pinch, you can even swipe it onto your eyes for a bit of a contoured eyeshadow look.

Brow and Lash Serum

Of course, we’re not saying that you have to consolidate your brow serum and mascara—but if your bag is particularly crowded and only has space for one of these tubes, get a product that can work for both parts of the face. A light brown brow serum can lock your brow hairs in face while adding fluttery volume to your lashes.

AGENT NATEUR LASH & BROW SERUM

Setting Sprays

A hydrating setting spray is essential to keeping your makeup looking fresh all day. Choose a travelsized bottle that fits easily into your bag, and use it to spritz your face throughout the day whenever your makeup needs a pick-me-up.

FASHION

Fashion Report: Summer Trends to Watch

Lately, New York summers have brought an East Coast version of monsoon season, but that won’t stop fashion-forward individuals from dressing to impress as the temperatures rise. In recent seasons, we’ve witnessed a surge in eclectic styles, with people expressing their unique personalities by mixing and matching various TikTok micro trends rather than conforming to a single look dictated by high-end fashion houses. This summer is no different, and we’ve scoured the web to bring you the best trends that will make being a New York It-Girl a breeze.

One of the standout colors this summer is butter yellow, as seen on fashion icons like Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski. New York’s nightlife scene also influences this season’s fashion trends, with It-Girls like Linux, Lana Ja’Rae, Memphy, Emira D’Spain, and Angel Au making a name for themselves through their distinctive styles. They showcase a range of fashion-forward looks, from edgy leather ensembles and sleek, monochromatic outfits to whimsical prints and daring silhouettes.

When it comes to shopping for the perfect New York summer outfits, vintage stores are a go-to destination for fashion-savvy It-Girls. From Manhattan to Brooklyn, the city is filled with hidden gems offering one-of-a-kind pieces that bring an air of individuality to your ensemble. So, whether you’re sipping mimosas at a bottomless brunch in SoHo or strolling through Central Park, embrace the energy and excitement of New York City this summer by incorporating these vibrant trends and bold fashion statements into your everyday look.

Harling Ross was onto something with her 2018 Instagram post that read, “My winter 2018 aesthetic is ‘stick of butter.’” While Ross made the prediction years ago, butter yellow is finally capturing the zeitgeist of 2024 summer fashion: things that bring soft and sunny warmth to your style. You can opt for butter yellow skirts, tailored linen blazers, or cute accessories like a mini bag or an oversized scrunchie—it’s the perfect hue for summer, offering a subtle brightness that honestly looks amazing on all skin tones.

Last year was all about the tomato girl—this year, we’re tapping into old-school Italian style again via polka dots. Polka dots are timeless, but the pattern is being re-imagined with various sizes and color that can slot into your current collection of summer clothes pretty easily. The best way to tap in is to get your hands on a black-and-white polka dot halter dress—if that’s too much for you, though, you can opt for a silky polka dot skirt or a structured polka dot sleeveless top with a cute boat neckline.

Butter Yellow
Polka Dots

Hamptons Core

Fashion has kind of always been about dressing like a rich person—but we’ve never been so blunt about it as in recent years. We’ve seen trends like quiet luxury, coastal grandma, and tennis core making appearances, and they all share one common theme: dressing like you belong to the most exclusive country club in the state. It’s no surprise that Hamptons core is on the rise, encapsulating the laid-back yet sophisticated style that says, “I’m headed out East this summer—and I’m not taking the Jitney.” This look relies on a preppy, coastal aesthetic rich in tailored shorts, lightweight sweaters, crisp white linens, nautical stripes, breezy silhouettes, and, (of course) classic boat shoes.

If you haven’t gotten over your love for Balletcore, know that the style is evolving a chicness that’s at the level of The Row. Mesh ballet flats are airy, breathable shoes that add a contemporary twist to the classic ballet flat, making them versatile enough to pair with dresses, skirts, and even jeans.

Mesh Ballet Flats

Flip Flops

Trust us on this: every single It-Girl we see on Substack, in the streets, and on Insta is suddenly on their Havaiana grind—and we’re so here for it. We’re seeing flip-flops paired with everything from maxi dresses to tailored trousers, adding a cute pop of color while still being extremely comfy. If you’re not into wearing rubber on your feet, choose flip-flops made with materials like leather.

Sheer Two-Piece Suits

The key to dressing for New York summer is wearing something that you can walk 20 blocks in and still not shed a single bead of sweat. Sheer two-piece suits, often crafted from delicate fabrics like chiffon or organza, are at a head this summer since they’re breezy and offer a glimpse of skin while still looking polished and chic. You can wear this over your favorite linen shorts and tank top, paired with chunky penny loafers and frilly socks—if you’re more daring, opt for mesh flats, your favorite lacy bra, and a pair of highwaisted, full-coverage panties.

SKINCARE

We Hear it All the Time, But What Does Pollution Actually Do To the Skin? And Can We Actually Protect Our Skin From Pollutants?

Pollution is everywhere—it’s in the city air, in our offices, and even in our apartments. While we often hear about the dangers of pollution, understanding its tangible effects on our skin is kind of weird since most of the information out there regarding smog is vague. As we come to NYC for the first time, we’re unpacking all the ways to defend against pollution and maintain a healthy glow in the middle of the city.

The Impact of Pollution on Skin

Bear with us, as this might get a bit science-y. To understand pollution’s effect on the skin, we first need to know what pollution even is. Pollution consists of a variety of harmful particles, including dirt, dust, and chemicals that can penetrate deep into the skin. The most concerning pollutants are particulate matter (PM), nitrogen dioxide, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). When these particles come into contact with our skin, they generate free radicals—unstable molecules that damage skin cells by stealing oxygen from the skin, triggering oxidative stress.

So, what does oxidative stress have to do with anything? Oxidative stress is a primary cause of premature aging—it breaks down collagen and elastin, which are essential proteins that keep skin firm and elastic. If that’s not enough to make you gasp in fear, pollution can also exacerbate inflammatory conditions like acne, eczema, and rosacea, causing flare-ups and worsening symptoms. The skin’s natural barrier can also become compromised, leading to increased sensitivity, dryness, and a dull, uneven complexion. Yes, this all can happen by just walking around in city air for long enough

Can We Actually Protect Our Skin From Pollutants?

The good news is, yes, we can protect our skin from the harmful effects of pollution through a combination of good skincare and lifestyle choices. Here’s how:

Cleansing Thoroughly: Proper cleansing is the first line of defense since it *literally* lifts pollutants from your skin. Use a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser to remove dirt, makeup, and pollutants without stripping the skin of its natural oils. Double cleansing, starting with an oil-based cleanser followed by a water-based one, can be particularly effective in thoroughly removing stubborn particles.

Antioxidant Protection: We can’t stop pollution from trying to grab a hold of oxygen molecules, but we can create a veil of oxygen molecules over our skin for free radicals to grab instead. Antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E, and niacinamide neutralize free radicals, offering their own oxygen molecules up to pollutants. Serums with high concentrations of these antioxidants can provide an extra layer of defense.

Barrier Repair: A robust barrier prevents pollutants from penetrating the skin and retains moisture, keeping your complexion resilient and hydrated. Strengthen your skin’s barrier with moisturizers rich in ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and fatty acids.

Sunscreen: Bestie, you have to use sunscreen in the city! UV rays can exacerbate the damaging effects of pollution, so protecting your skin from sun exposure is crucial. Look for sunscreens with additional antioxidant properties for enhanced protection.

Lifestyle Adjustments: Beyond skincare, lifestyle changes can also help. Avoiding smoking, reducing exposure to indoor pollutants (hi, air purifiers), and maintaining a healthy diet rich in antioxidants can support your skin’s health from the inside out.

BEAUTY

Summer Beauty Edit

We find a lot of pleasure in waxing poetic about beauty trends — we can yap forever about things like sunset blush, Aperol spritz nails, or revolving your entire summer look around a vibrant Brat Green (we love you, Charli). Here’s the thing, though — no person in this city is like the next, and things can become sticky when trying to prescribe a few products to a bunch of people whose vibes are poles apart.

In this edit, we’re tailoring products that cater to the multifaceted lives of NYC girlies, helping you look and feel your best, no matter your routine.

Summer Hair Cut + Color Trends

One of the most New York things about New York is that you can easily walk a simple few blocks and experience a vibe shift that makes you feel like you’re in a new world. The Lower East Side can make you nostalgic for the gritty punk artists of decades past, whereas the West Village can make you feel like you’re in rom-com that was exclusively filmed at midnight, lit by string lights. As we enter the summer season, we can’t help but compare the contradicting hair trends to New York’s never-ending sea of different styles, and we’re so excited to celebrate them all, seeing this New Yorkstyle abundance of trends. From fairytale-inspired tresses to classic bobs, here are the cuts and colors that will reign supreme this season.

HAIR

FAIRYTAIL HAIR

If you’re dabbling in the milkmaid fashion trend this summer, chances are you’re already rocking a version of fairytale hair. This style is all about whimsy—think: long waves, huge layers, and a few stringy braids dispersed throughout. It’s the perfect hairstyle for days when you want to look put-together but don’t have the time: just spritz in a volumizing texture stray, and have fun with scattering things like braids, bows, and clips throughout your strands.

SUNFLOWER BLONDE

Sunflower blonde is a warm, sunny take on classic blonde, reminiscent of golden sunflower fields. This shade features a blend of honey, caramel, and buttery tones, creating a radiant, natural-looking finish. Perfect for brightening your complexion, Sunflower Blonde works well with various cuts, from long layers to chic lobs, adding a sun-kissed glow.

CLEAN GIRL BRUNETTE

If you thought we were done with clean girl vibes, think again. Clean girl brunette embraces a minimalist, polished aesthetic. This trend focuses on medium brown tones with verryyyyy subtle highlights that aren’t there to look chunky, but just to enhance the hair’s natural shine and body. It’s all about healthy, glossy locks that look effortlessly chic. Paired with sleek, straight styles or smooth waves, this look plays off those women who basically look like they have perfect virgin hair 24/7.

CHARCOAL HAIR

If you want to dabble in a darker style but don’t want something that’ll force you to change your entire look to “edgy,” consider charcoal hair. This deep, smoky brown-black color is versatile, complementing both cool and warm undertones. It works particularly well asymmetrical cuts or sleek, straight styles, but can also work well with your standard layered blowout look. Charcoal hair is the creme de la creme for anyone who’s after hair that can either stand out or just enhance your sun kissed features this summer.

AMELIE BOB

Funny enough, lots of New York style depends heavily on Parisian-chic vibes, so it’s no surprise that a cute French bob is back in style. Inspired by the iconic French film, the Amelie Bob is a timeless cut with a modern twist—it boasts a chin-length bob with soft, blunt edges and can be worn straight or with your natural curls. It’s versatile and chic, and ideal for people who just want to air-dry their hair in the morning and head out the door.

PLEASURE RITUAL

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

6/7am: wakeup

8am: get coffee

9-3pm: work

5/6pm: usually grab dinner with friends as I live alone 9pm: workout

WHAT IS YOUR COCKTAIL OF THE MOMENT?

Mezcal Negroni 100%

WHAT IS YOUR DAILY SKINCARE + BEAUTY ROUTINE?

I mostly focus on my nighttime skincare routine rather than morning. I make sure to remove any impurities and makeup throughout the day thoroughly using oil based cleanser and make sure to include 4 step Korean night time routine. My current skincare products at the moment is Revive Skincare & Superegg.

HOW DO YOU SEEK PLEASURE FOR YOURSELF? My dose of pleasure daily is definitely my coffee routine. Though it’s incredibly expensive in New York, I love to discover new places. It’s one of my “guilty” pleasure for sure.

WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO PLACES IN NEW YORK?

For exercising: Y7 Studio, Rumble, Barrys, Solidcore

Favourite bars: Monkey Bar, Raouls, and Veronika Favourite coffee shops: Ralph Coffee, Fellini, Sip & Co.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT VISITING MAJESTY’S PLEASURE? WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE NEW YORK LOCATION?

Having a relaxing full experience of self-care (coffee + drinks) rather than a chop shop feel. I also love sharing the experience by treating family and friends. I’m so excited my favourite nail salon is finally coming to my city!

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR STYLE AND FASHION EVERY DAY? The New York attitude really inspires me. Being unapologetically ourselves, the hustle bustle culture, and embracing diversity.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Live so that when your children think of love, truth and integrity, they think of you.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF SELF-CARE? Anything that involves activities that involve putting myself first. I love to treat my body with healthy food, exercising at least 3/4 times a week, and making sure my nails, hair and skin always look 10/10.

Aries

East Village – March 21-April 19: Some people try to escape the bustle, but you thrive in places full of energy. East Village has the perfect balance of old-school punk grit and chic restaurants to keep you on your toes.

Taurus

Upper West Side – April 20-May 20: Think: Charlotte York’s apartment that she received in her divorce settlement. You basically just want to live somewhere that can feel like you’re retired in style—with its Old Money air and cozy pre-war buildings, the Upper West Side will be your go-to place for napping while wrapped in an Hermès blanket.

Gemini

Williamsburg – May 21-June 20: We’re talking about the part of Williamsburg not riddled with tourists, of course. Williamsburg is full of art galleries, trendy shops, and chic dining options, making it perfect for your social and vibe-y personality.

Cancer

Brooklyn Heights – June 21-July 22: The reason you live in NYC is because you don’t want to live in the suburbs — but you still want to be somewhere that feels cozy. Brooklyn Heights is perfect for Cancers since it has all the vibes of living in a city (and, TBH, one of the best views of lower Manhattan) with the quiet greenery you crave for a sense of privacy and relaxation.

Leo

Flatiron – July 23-August 22: Leo, you want to be wherever it’s the chicest and most happening—and Flatiron will deliver. You’re just a stone’s throw away from practically any part of NYC thanks to the many Subway lines that pass through, and you’re amongst buildings, spaces, and people that exude luxury.

Virgo

Carroll Gardens – August 23-September 22: If you can only pick two things in life, we’d wager that they’d be organization and a sense of community — and this hidden gem just below DUMBO is the epitome of those two things. Carroll Gardens has an old-school Italian vibe where people still talk to their neighbours and the most perfectly manicured tree-lined streets you’ll see in NYC.

Libra

SoHo – September 23-October 22: You’re quiet about your luxurious side, but don’t get it twisted — you still love kicking your foot back in photos to show off a sliver of your red-bottom shoes. SoHo is essentially the neighbourhood version of you — its architecture is glam without being too in-your-face, and every corner is riddled with cute coffee shops and high-end stores.

Scorpio

Lower East Side – October 23-November 21: Scorp, you’re mysterious, artistic, and have a bit of party-girl energy to you—LES is your NYC equivalent. It’s one of the only places in the city where you can shop vintage stores, gallery-hop, and then hang out with friends at a super-luxe lounge, all within a five-block radius.

Sagittarius

West Village – November 22 - December 21: People will try to portray you as an adventurous spirit who can hop around the world with just a backpack and a credit card. While you may love travel, you’re also really fabulous and are probably packing heavy—after all, you never know what vibe you may have to bring during your Euro summer. With its cute brownstones and culturally diverse cuisine, West Village is a home base that’s as worldly and chic as you.

Capricorn

Financial District – December 22-January 19: Need we say more? Cap, you’re inspired by hustle and always follow the money—not for selfish reasons but rather to make life as enjoyable as possible for you and your loved ones. Why not live at the heart of all finance?

Aquarius

Fort Greene – January 20-February 18: Aquarius, you are sort of a chameleon when it comes to your interests, and it only makes sense for you to live somewhere at the center of it all. Fort Greene is close to every single neighborhood in Brooklyn, and it has its own charm, too, full of art, great restaurants, and a diverse community. Whether you want to make a last-minute day trip up to Bushwick or want to walk a mile for the best hot cocoa you’ll ever have (hi, Chocolate Room), you’re only a short jaunt from the coolest things.

Pisces

Bushwick – February 19-March 20: It’s popular to say that Pisceans are too eccentric for others to “get”—The truth? You’re simply the epitome of a Cool Girl™, and you’re not meant to be understood by everyone. You’re the first to do the cool things and wear the hottest trends, and there’s no better place for you to gain inspo than Bushwick. It’s teeming with nightlife, amazing food, and lots of artists, meaning you’ll never have a boring day.
