If you’re going to do it, do it to the very best of your ability. As a designer and as an artist in general, I’ve made it my personal mission to live by these words. Plenty of us share the same passion and possess the same abilities but it’s up to you to differentiate yourself from the whole. That was the hard part. It still is. But I’ve found that playing to your strengths and making it work is the only way to go. There’s no room for fear; You just have to do it. It’s about trying new things and failing, then trying again. That’s how you find where you belong. I’m still in the first stages of the process but I’ve found a place. It lies between where design and illustration meet. My interest lies in visual narration. Telling a story through design has given me the opportunity to test myself. The challenge always seems to be integrating the two effectively while maintaining a balance. Well, if there’s one thing I really like, it’s a challenge.

Choose Strong Charmin “Choose Strong” is a campaign that emphasizes the idea that toilet paper advertised as “strong” can also be gentle. A mascot by the name of StrongMan proves this by showing how gentle he can be, despite his name. He is pitted against the thin, flaky GentleMan, who does not live up to his name. A commercial shows participants playing the game StrongMan vs GentleMan, where they must choose between two friends: StrongMan or GentleMan. They find that the same qualities they look for in a friend are also the same qualities they look for when shopping for toilet paper. The product is “strong” but can also be gentle, dependable, and trustworthy.
