ORIENTATION ACTIVITIES
KEY TERMS
Academic Sessions = Incoming students will be assigned to a specific academic session where full-time faculty will lead discussions on various topics including the summer reading, transitioning to college, and expectation of college level work. Social Events = Students are invited to all the social events during the week. The purpose of these events is to facilitate interaction with other new students in a fun and exciting setting. ORIENTATION ACTIVITIES NEW STUDENT CHECK-IN (REQUIRED EVENT)
Students can get Student ID Cards made, pick up mailbox key, turn in Health Services form, and get Disney Trip t-shirt.
PARKING DECAL PROCESSING
STUDENT ACCOUNTS MEETINGS Students and parents will have time to meet with Student Accounts to address any issues or concerns with their financial status.
PARENT ORIENTATION- SESSION 1 (STUDENTS DO NOT ATTEND) There are two identical Parent Orientation sessions scheduled today, pick only one session. Parents will hear from the Administration about the College in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Parents are invited to mingle in the lobby after the session to network with other Flagler parents and the Administration.
PARENT ORIENTATION - SESSION 2 (STUDENTS DO NOT ATTEND) This is an identical Parent Orientation session as in the morning.
FINAL ROOM VISIT AND DINNER
The administration will be available to answer any additional questions and there will be an opportunity to make one last trip to your students room before dinner.
CROSSING THE LINE (REQUIRED EVENT) An introduction to Title IX, Campus SAVE Act, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and sexual harassment.
RESIDENCE HALL MEETINGS (REQUIRED EVENT) CASINO NIGHT - PRIZES
Come and try your hand at blackjack, poker, roulette, and Texas Hold’em. We will provide the chips and you can win the prizes! There will also be video games, crafts, and karaoke.
