Welcome to the San Diego Business Journal’s 2023 Book of Lists, the premier resource guide to companies, industries and executives in San Diego County.

As the San Diego community of business recovers from the lingering effects of the pandemic, it has continued to face new challenges in supply chains, inflation and staffing.

Our mission at the San Diego Business Journal is to provide our business community hope and optimism as we face these challenges together. The companies that have earned their spot onto The Lists continue to thrive and succeed with strong leadership, business acumen and high workplace standards.

The Business Journal compiles this information all year long through electronic surveys sent to businesses in our database. The research team conducts follow-up phone calls and sends emails to companies to verify the data. The majority of the companies are ranked by metrics such as local revenue, the number of local employees, or by the number of local employees in a specific segment. We also compile additional information from reputable third-party sources.

There is no cost to be included in our lists published in our weekly print edition or this annual Book of Lists. Companies interested in being added to our database can email sdbjlists@sdbj. com for additional information. Feedback is welcome, including suggestions for new lists and bringing companies to our attention to be included.

Our business began here in 1914, which means that we’ve been in continuous operation for 108 years and counting. Our main office in La Jolla has been in the same location for over 60 years.
