At age 17, and barely old enough to drive, the teenager from an Iraqi-American family talked his way into winning the bid to start a valet service at Sycuan Casino. Supreme Valet Service was born, and it still operates around San Diego as an amenity at clubs, restaurants and charity events. The valet service would later spawn another vehicle-related business, TLC Medical Transport, created to serve non-emergency situations. The transport business is still thriving today, he said. Abbo traces his business acumen to his father, and he anticipates that his 17-year-old son will follow in his footsteps. “My family has been in the retail business for years, and so has my partner’s family,” Abbo said. “In fact, my dad and his dad were business partners.” Almost three years ago Abbo and his business partner, Andy Hirmez of San Marcos-

for body flight, without ever having to jump out of an airplane. Indoor skydiving company iFLY San Diego held its grand opening in Mission Valley on March 4, and they did it with a bang. The Red Bull Air Force professional skydivers jumped out of a plane and
landed in the parking lot in front of invited guests, and then made their way inside the wind tunnel for a performance. The iFLY facility, located at 2385 Camino Del Rio North, is the third to open in Southern California. The other two are

rchitects for the Alexan Fashion Valley luxury apartment complex have finetuned their drawings after getting feedback from the Mission Valley Planning Group’s Design Advisory Board (DAB). The project is proposed for a triangular-shaped piece of land along the curve of Camino de la Reina at the Avenida del Rio entrance to Fashion Valley Mall. The 4.92-acre property at 123 Camino de la Reina currently consists of four office buildings occupied by Mission Valley News and its parent company, San Diego Community News Network, as well as Mueller College, Southern States University, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, San Diego Children’s Choir, Cloud 9 SuperShuttle, the NAI
