Editor’s Note
Welcome to the first issue of the all new version of Our Voice Magazine!
I have quite enjoyed getting Our Voice going again, attending meetings and parties to take some snapshots of proceedings and being with everybody. After the last couple of years with no Christmas parties at the Centre, getting back to normal, hanging out with people I thought it’d be nice to put together ‘The Centre Family Photo Album Christmas of 22’ for people to remember it all...
Coming back to The Centre feels great to be able to facilitate in my Clifftops Writing Workshop on Friday afternoon’s. My poster with all the details you need, if you’re interested, is on the Notice Boards.
Looking forward to happy and healthy 2023.

from Centre Members put forward at the AGM:
Computer Room
What can be done to do it up and to make it nicer and less like a School Computer Room and more inviting to adults who are used to using Coffee Shops and Cafes?
A new lino for the floor for easy cleaning and to make it more welcoming. Has been agreed and budgeted for...
Case workers?
Could there be more one to one ongoing support? More support group sessions?
Allganics?
After an empassioned presentation from Kaz the Allganics volunteer and extrustee.
There’s great news, it’s to be reestablished. A welcome return as it was unable to function through the lockdowns.
Allganics buys in wholesale food at bulk costs and sells it at cost price in a pop up shop. Details coming soon...
Games room?
There’s no space for one, although people play computer games and we have several board games in the main area.
The Centre helps people engage with the relevant support and group sessions are being run again, and when we have the staff and volunteers the time will be increased.
Volunteer Counselling organisations locally would have to be contacted to see if they have the ability to help.
Solar Energy?
Malcolm asked if there was a flat roof and if anyone had ever looked into installing solar panels on the roof for cheap elecricity moving forward? Lisa has contacting the council and they’ve now carried out an Energy Assessment for the building..? What does this mean? More details to follow.
Setting up before the big event

- Jenny Valentine, Broken Soup
Children’s entertainer - Potty the Pirate arrives!
Potty the Pirate’s roadies get his gear into the Party Room...
Paul gets to his Changing Room and gets his Father Christmas outfit ready for the party ...
On reception they were looking reading to burst into song!
“Christmas Crackers!”
“Do another one. What did I get? ”
Francesco waiting by the door with name badges as the party fills up and starts to get quite noisy!
Sue found a little squidger!
One little lady had her birthday on the very same day as the Children’s Christmas party and everyone sang happy Birthday to her...
...and wondered what her cake tasted like?
“Is that the B? No! It’s THERE!!!”
Mary Christmas gives the gifting session a big two thumbs up for job well done where each child’s present is chosen for them by Santa and his helpers.
Two little ladies give Santa’s beard a tug to find if it’s real or no..? :D
Christmas Dinner!
“Being gifted doesn’t mean you’ve been given something. It means, you have something to give...”
