3 INTRO For this assignment I wanted to look at Droog’s idea of making an anti-statement. Many of their pieces are more about sculpture and the user’s interaction with the object. I too wanted to look at this interation or rather lack there of. The piece I ended up taking into CAD looks at groups interactions with the furniture around their homes and how much of those pieces end up piled with junk only shoved aside for meals or when guests come around. Keeping this in mind I designed a table which put a much more central look at the family dynamic around dinner time. A time that, in most families, is used to discuss events of the day. It is an essential experience which too often gets overlooked. With this table you are forced to think about meals as the table is useless other than during meal times.

Founded in 1993 by Renny Ramakers in Holland’s vibrant capital, Amsterdam. Droog’s following in the design world was one of the early adapters to DoIt-Yourself feeling furniture.

Meaning Dry in Dutch, Droog brought its designs to the world stage with their no nonsense philosphys aiming to make an anti- statement, have a respect for the existing, less is more and to design with a strong identity to its context and relevance.

Their most well known designs and designers are those who have been around since near or before the collective’s conception.

1 2 REFLECTION ON SKILLS If I were to do this project again I would pick a more consistent theme between the pieces and sketches and try to design around or for that theme. I would start modelling the CAD aspect of the assignment much earlier even if it were only iterations of the models. Desipite this retrospct I feel that the assignment turned out well. I am happy wih the designs and sketches I came up with and how I brought it into my chosen CAD software.
