Arañat Cielüz was among the top 30 submissions for the international design competition Alternate Realities 2022 hosted by the Charette.
Arañat Cielüz is a fictional city that levitates above its home planet using naturally-occurring, magnetically charged crystals. The city and its subsequent nodes allow designers, artists, performers, and creators to explore the world in new ways. These unique experiences assist them in refining their craft and connecting them to the creative community. Arañat Cielüz exists within an unpublished science fiction novel my dad is currently authoring. A brief explanation and background about the city can be found on the final page of our submission. Through our collaboration over several months, we designed and conceptualized the design for one of the many locations defined in the story. At the end of January 2022, we entered our design submission to the competition. At the end of February, we were informed of our position among the top 30 entries.
