Generations Of Glass Art The first glassworks at Målerås was founded in 1890, shortly after the first railways were constructed through the wild land in the north-eastern region of the Kronoberg county of Småland. This was the time when industrialism had seriously established itself in Sweden. Målerås became an important railway junction, where glass from many of the glassworks in the area was loaded or reloaded.
