POEMS RECITED IN THE CULTURAL WEEK WHEN SARAH SURFS THE INTERNET (2nd &3rd Cycles) When Sarah surfs the Internet she starts by checking mail. She answers all her messages from friends in great detail. She plays a game, or maybe two, and watches a cartoon, then chats with kids in places like Rwanda and Rangoon. She reads about her favorite bands. She buys an MP3. She downloads movie trailers and she looks for stuff for free. She reads about celebrities and dreams of wealth and fame, then watches music videos and plays another game. If you should say, "Your time is up. I need to use the Net," she always whines, "I haven't got my homework finished yet!" Kenn Nesbitt

BROCCOLI FOR BREAKFAST (1st, 2nd & 3rd Cycles) Broccoli for breakfast. Broccoli for lunch. Broccoli that's tender. Broccoli with crunch. Broccoli for dinner. Broccoli for snacks. Broccoli in boxes and baskets and sacks. Broccoli for weeks and for months and for years. It's up to my eyeballs. It's up to my ears! Kenn Nesbitt

Hello Neighbor, what do you say? (Children bow to each other) It's going to be a happy day. (Children clap hands together) So greet your neighbor, (Children give each other high fives) And boogie on down. (Children wiggle their hips) Give 'em a bump, (Children bump their hips together) and turn around. (Children turn around)
