REVOLUTIONARY DEVICE FOR WORKING AT HEIGHT The unique Harken PowerSeat™ has revolutionized working at height, providing the worker with the ability to ascend quickly, stay in position longer, and work in comfort. The PowerSeat provides quality, convenience, safety and the best solution for completing a task on time.

Speed Control

The unit is operated using a fail-safe dead man’s switch to control ascent speed, up to 15 m/min (49.2 ft/min).

Brake

The brake system offers complete security against free fall. The encapsulating jaw cover protects against snagging fingers and clothing in the winch.

Ergonomically Design

The PowerSeat is designed to stay in an upright position, eliminating wasted energy maintaining an upright position.

Durability

Stainless steel load-carrying gears and pins provide strength and durability. Sealed gearbox and high-load ball bearings reduce friction under load, are corrosion resistant, and do not require lubrication.

FAQs Q: Is the PowerSeat just a mechanical ascender? A: The durability and certification of the PowerSeat allows it to be used as a powered ascender for access, as well as rigged to assist with hauling and pulling applications. For example, cliff rescue (when anchored to a strong point), or in conjunction with a tripod for confined space/winching operations. Q: Is the PowerSeat only rated for single person use? A: No, the PowerSeat can be utilized in tandem rescue situations to a maximum working load of 273 kg (601.9 lb). Q: How long does the fuel tank allow for use? A: A full tank of fuel (0.6 l) will allow around 1200 m (3937 ft) climb distance at 273 kg (601.9 lb). Q: What is the ascent speed? A: Rate of climb is 15 m per minute at 120 kg (49.2 ft per minute at 265.6 lb), 11 m per minute at 273 kg (36.09 ft per minute at 601.9 lb). Q: What training is required? Can anyone use the PowerSeat? A: Use of the PowerSeat is restricted to those certified for temporary work at height, with access and positioning systems using ropes according to the current regulations of the nation and industry in which the device is used. This is not PPE equipment: Use in conjunction with a full fall arrest system at all times. WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS. The user must follow the manufacturer’s instructions for each component of the system. These instructions must be provided to the user of this equipment. ELECTRIC The PowerSeat™ Electric unveils new possibilities in enclosed and confined space rope access & rescue. The PowerSeat™ Electric quietly delivers a powerful 300 kilogram (661.4 lb) hoist capability with the controlled sensitivity to perform the most delicate rescues, or precise maneuvering of materials and components for installation or maintenance. Developed as a requirement in industry, it provides a lightweight, prolonged usage, powered ascender and utility winch. With the ability to operate comfortably and confidently in oxygen and ventilation starved environments it provides a level of operator safety and comfort that directly increases productivity and efficiency. Suitable for blade cleaning, confined space, and indoor rope access and rescue applications.

Certification

The Harken Electric PowerSeat is awaiting CE certification at time of printing, it will also be independently verified by Bureau Veritas. This version will be available in January, 2014. R
