Michelle and Chris having been married for more than 25 years their dream has always been to open up a small business on the island of Malta. Travelling has always been their passion and it was on one of their forays in Asia that they realised about the importance of tea to this continent and beyond. Both where lovers of the traditional English Tea but when the extensive range of teas available in Asia was introduced to them there was no looking back. Fast forward to 2022 and here we are introducing our second Tea catalogue for 2022, with Teas coming from all over the Asian continent and Africa. Gunpowder Tea is a Chinese green tea. Its Chinese name actually means “Pearl Tea” and the English name most likely comes from the Chinese word for “freshly brewed” (gang pao de) and the fact that each leaf is rolled into a small, round pellet that resembles a black powder grain. Gunpowder green tea has a thick, strong and slightly smokey flavor, with a coppery aftertaste. Gunpowder has higher level of caffeine than normal green tea, which hence gives the extra energy boost whilst taking benefit of the green leaves.
