An Introduction to Morocco

Creating your Dream Holiday
8-9
I am delighted to introduce our new winter 2015/16 and Summer 2016 Morocco Brochure. One of the great attractions of Morocco as a holiday destination, is its diversity. It has everything from beautiful sandy beaches, to breath-taking mountain scenery, fascinating and vibrant cities, and, of course, a treasure-trove of history to explore. Some of our most popular holidays are proving to be our multi-centre and tailor-made holidays, which allow you to combine many different experiences in one holiday. You could blend a stay in Marrakech with a trip to the High Atlas Mountains, for example, or throw in some time in one of the resorts of the Atlantic coast, or even a romantic desert trip, spending a night in a traditional desert camp. Whatever type of holiday you are looking for, in Morocco you will find many exciting holiday possibilities. Marrakech and Fez offer magical city breaks where you will feel as if you are taking a trip back in time to experience their well-preserved culture and history. Nature-lovers will find no better place than the Atlas Mountains for complete relaxation or to enjoy some mountain walks. Beach-lovers will be enchanted by the long beaches, and soft sand of Agadir and Essaouira. Morocco has a mild climate all-year round, making it a great place to visit at any time of year. The friendly hospitality of the local people is sure to be a highlight of your stay. For an authentic, yet luxurious experience, we have selected a number of traditional Riad and character hotels in Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, Essaouira, Agadir and Fez. We have a very experienced sales team, most of whom have been working with us for 10 years or more! Each of the team has visited all of our resorts and accommodation, and has excellent firsthand knowledge. Please make the most of this by calling them and asking for recommendations and advice - they are a very friendly team, who will be more than happy to answer your questions. Our resort team in Morocco is equally experienced, and ready to offer you personal service with attention to detail. Many of our clients return and tell us about their great holiday experiences – we hope that you will be one of them! We are looking forward to hearing from you on 0330 134 7814 or if you have anything you would prefer to discuss with me personally please feel free to call me direct on 0121 764 35 55.

Creating your
Dream Holiday We appreciate just how important it is to get your holiday right, after all holidays give us all so much to look forward to and memories to treasure once we have returned. It all starts with planning the right itinerary, getting the preferred balance of sightseeing and relaxation and so many other factors. So, whatever you want from your holiday let the specialist team at Anatolian Sky tailor-make a holiday experience especially for you.
Here at Anatolian Sky, ‘specialist’ is not a term which is used lightly. We take great pride in our knowledge of the destinations which we feature and in our expertise for planning holidays. Those who travel with us can certainly expect something more than just a package holiday. In fact, our aim is to create a holiday tailored especially to your wishes and requirements. We offer a number of different options in this brochure, to provide you with a holiday experience which will give you more of an insight into the unique culture and history of Morocco.
Flight Flexibility Our Tailor-made Holidays on pages 10-15 include flights in the holiday cost. Moroccan Holidays featured include flights but there are so many different flights operating to Morocco from all regional UK airports, we prefer to give you the flexibility of choosing from all available options on your chosen dates. The flight options and prices will be given to you when you contact us to make your booking, so that you can choose those most suited to your requirements. These will then be added on to your holiday cost to make a full package price.
Tailor-made Holidays & Touring Itineraries (pages 10-15 and 19) The following pages feature a range of tailor-made holidays in Morocco, which are either tours or multi centre options. The specific holiday itineraries are designed as examples of the types of holiday which we can offer. These combine stays in a number of different places, whether it is the Imperial cities or the High Atlas Mountains.
8
From prices are based on two people sharing a room for the specific itinerary shown and include all flights, transfers and tours as specified. Some of the tours listed in the itinerary are optional and, therefore, not included in the price – if you want to include them in your holiday just ask our tailor-made department for a revised itinerary. We also have a small group tour combining three of Morocco’s most fascinating cities (see page 19 for details). Many of our guests choose to book a holiday itinerary exactly as featured in the brochure. However, you can also feel free to change the itinerary to suit your own requirements. If you want to substitute a different hotel from that featured in the itinerary or if you want to add a new element to your holiday or vary the amount of time spent in each place then simply tell us your requirements and we will tailor a unique holiday to suit you.

Multi-centred holidays
Romantic Breaks & Honeymoons
Marrakech is a fascinating city break destination on its own, but can also be used as the starting point for one of our exciting new multi-centred holidays. You can combine Marrakech with a visit to the High Atlas Mountains, to merge two very different experiences and desinations in to one exciting holiday. Alternatively, use Marrakech as the starting point for a two centre beach holiday – spend a few days sightseeing in the bustling city and then relax in one of our charming Atlantic beach resorts, either Essaouira or Agadir.
Morocco is a perfect destination for a romantic break or honeymoon – exotic and romantic with stunning accommodation. You would expect your honeymoon to be nothing less than a dream holiday, so let the experts at Anatolian Sky plan it for you. We can arrange everything down to the smallest detail. We particularly recommend Les Borjs de la Kasbah in Marrakech (see page 23).
Activity holidays – walking in the High Atlas Mountains and cookery classes in Marrakech For those who want more from their holiday we have found two charmingly authentic hotels which can offer you a real insight into local culture and traditions. The Kasbah Angor (see page 26) has a programme of walking tours, and mule treks, organised by its own experienced guides. These will allow you to explore the beautiful countryside and visit historic sites, which will give you a taste of local Berber culture.
Or why not combine all 3 destinations and visit the High Atlas Mountains, Marrakech and the Atlantic coast.

Marrakech & High Atlas Mountains 3 nights Marrakech + 4 nights High Atlas Mountains 7 nights from £519
TA I L O R M A D E H O L I D AY S Morocco is a country of contrasts and visiting just one place really can’t give you the full experience. What could be better, then than to combine two such different destinations in one exciting holiday? Marrakech is one of Morocco’s most vibrant and exciting cities. It presents the visitor with a full-on assault to the senses – vibrant colours, a cacophony of noise, exotic aromas – as the ever-changing tableau of human activity unfolds before you. Jemaa el Fna Square is at the heart of the medina a hive of bustling activity, crammed with street vendors, stalls and entertainers. Snake-charmers, musicians and fortune-tellers vie for trade with those selling delicious local specialities to tempt your palate. The souq is a labyrinth of stalls and workshops where age-old traditional crafts are practised.
What could be better than to combine the hustle and bustle of the city, with the serene and tranquil beauty of the High Atlas Mountains. The contrast between the busy city and the dramatic mountain scenery could not be greater. Going from the narrow streets of the medina to the endless mountain vistas is an incredible experience – especially given the fact that it is only approximately an hour’s drive away. When in the mountains, you will have the opportunity to relax and soak up the sun with a good book or spend your time walking, rambling through the beautiful countryside and discovering the fascinating local Berber culture and history.
The price below is based on 3 nights in Marrakech at Ksar Anika (page 22) on bed and breakfast basis sharing a twin/ double room and 4 nights in the High Atlas Mountains at Tatfi de L’Atlas (page 27) also on bed & breakfast basis. It also includes all relevant transfers in a private air-conditioned car. Our tailor-made experts will be happy to provide a quotation based on different durations or accommodation combinations.
There are so many sights to see and places to visit that you may feel you are spoiled for choice. The constant hubbub of activity is exhilarating but also tiring, which is why it makes sense to plan to combine a little time for relaxing with your stay in Marrakech. That way you can have an exciting holiday but also return home refreshed with your batteries fully recharged.

an introduction to
Casablanca Casablanca – the very name is evocative of Oriental glamour. These days, however, it is Morocco’s largest city and primary port, a lively metropolis set on the northern Atlantic coast. Though no longer the capital, the city is modern and distinctly European in feel, offering a wide array of accommodation, and restaurants considered to be among the country’s finest. Choose from local eateries serving tantalising Moroccan cuisine and up-market establishments with a more international take on the traditional fare. It comes as a surprise to many visitors that the city was founded as late as 1906, which means that Casablanca’s sites carry cultural rather than historical significance in the main. Highlights include the imposing Sacre Coeur Cathedral; the Rialto Cinema, an iconic Art Deco edifice built in the 1930s; and the Hassan II Mosque, a stunning edifice reputedly costing some $800-million, boasting the world’s tallest minaret at 210 metres.
16
Casablanca, Rabat
The city’s New Town - typical of its time - was conceived by renowned French architect Henri Prost. The Old Medina too is worth a visit. Though nowhere near as impressive as that of Marrakech, its colonial clock tower and western walls have in recent years undergone careful restoration and there is still plenty of atmosphere to soak up as well as bargains to be had.
Rabat
Public transport in ‘Casa’, as the city is known affectionately, is very good, with a comprehensive network of buses and petits taxis in plentiful supply. For a change of scenery, head across to Ain Diab, a small yet popular seaside suburb famed for its buzzing beach clubs.
The history of Rabat is thought to date back to the third century BC when settlement was first made on the banks of the Oued Bou Regreg River. The Roman city of Sala Colonia lies on the outskirts, but a forum and triumphal arch are about the only identifiable remains. The site was subsequently used as a necropolis (Chellah Necropolis) by the Almohad dynasty in the 14th century. Though damaged significantly by the Lisbon earthquake in 1755, the complex is still a worthwhile diversion and is today a popular tourist attraction. Many of the artefacts found here, along with prehistoric finds from the surrounding area, can be viewed in Rabat’s impressive Archaeology Museum.
Morocco’s capital since 1912, Rabat is modern, laid-back and European in feel, with numerous parks, wide, tree-lined boulevards and a handful of decent beaches to head to when temperatures soar. The city is also home to the Royal Palace, official residence of King Mohamed VI.

including the 1,200 year-old Al-Karaouine, which stakes a claim to be the oldest university in the world, and the magnificent El Qaraouiyin Mosque, famed for its dazzling emerald-coloured tile roof.
Other must-see sites include the UNESCOrecognised Hassan Tower, an iconic, red sandstone minaret, part-finished owing to the death of Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour in 1199, when construction was promptly abandoned; the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, one of the country’s finest examples of modern Alaouite dynasty architecture, completed in 1971; and the Kasbah of the Udayas, home to Rabat’s oldest mosque, the 850 year-old Jami al-Atiq. Beaches of note to the south include Temara and Skirat. Head north to enjoy prime windsurfing conditions. Powerful tides however mean that conditions are not well suited to much more than paddling.

In fact, you could easily spend days exploring this labyrinthine district alone. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rumoured to have 9000 or so streets, and is equally impressive if not more so than the medina of Marrakech. It’s less touristy for one and its streets are narrower. You could wander here for days quite happily, simply soaking up the sights and sounds of the medina. Fez is famous for its tanneries, with their brightly coloured dyes and pigments, but the sights - and in particular the smells - of the leather souks and tanneries are not for the faint-hearted. Locals recommend that you take a sprig of fresh mint along to combat the pungent odours. an introduction to
Marrakech
A sun-drenched city, the ochre of its ancient city walls contrasting with vibrant bougainvillea and lush palms; dusty, narrow streets giving way to hidden courtyards and sumptuous riads
Marrakech is often the first port of call for any visitor to Morocco, its magnificent architecture off-set by the stunning backdrop of the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains. It is a great place to soak up the atmosphere of the country, bright colours, fragrant spices, the hustle and bustle of everyday life all combining to form a veritable symphony for the senses.
20
Founded in 1062, the city has played host to a succession of dynasties and rulers and has outlived them all. Its founders bequeathed it the astonishing legacy of the network of wells and pipes which draw spring waters underneath the city, together with the lush gardens and orchards, which have become such an important part of its very character. It is to the Saadians, who ruled the city in the 16th century, that it owes the vast El Badi Palace and magnificent necropolis, the Saadian tombs. In the 1920’s Marrakech became fashionable amongst the European elite, attracting artists, writers and bohemian types from around the world to its laidback lifestyle, and exotic ambience.
At the heart of the city, within the ancient city walls, recognised by UNESCO for its unique heritage as a living, breathing monument – is a vast open square, closed to traffic, filled with the hubbub of people engaged in every type of activity imaginable. Stalls and street-vendors jostle for space with snakecharmers, dancers and fortune-tellers. As the sun goes down, and the locals come out to enjoy the relative cool of the evening, it really comes into its own. The best way to enjoy the atmosphere is to take to one of the restaurant terraces overlooking the square, order a sweet glass of fresh mint tea and simply sit back and enjoy the unique human tableau unfolding in front of you.

London
If you tire of exploring on foot, take a ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage, which is a great way of getting around. For a complete change of atmosphere, take a trip around the Palmeraie, the lush gardens comprising over 100,000 trees, or make a tour of the city walls with their numerous gateways, known as ‘Bab’ in Arabic.
Marrakech
Keen shoppers – and even the more reluctant variety – cannot fail to be impressed by the souks of the old medina. Organised by trade , they are a labyrinth of tiny stalls and workshops, grouped into carpet-sellers, pottery, fine leatherware, copperware and so on. There has been a revival in traditional crafts of late as these are interpreted and reworked for contemporary taste. There are plenty of bargains to be found – and of course bargaining is all part of the experience. Those whose taste falls more towards designer goods, will not be disappointed by the elegant boutiques of Gueliz, one of the city’s most upmarket modern districts.

Its English/ Kuwaiti owners have lavished care and attention upon it, using gold- and silver-leaf in the furnishings to create a unique and opulent look. No two rooms look the same, and each has its own character, some with four-poster beds, others with fireplaces and cosy corners. Many of the rooms open out on to courtyards or on to the pool. In keeping with tradition, there are no televisions in the rooms to preserve the tranquillity of the experience, although those that like their mod cons will appreciate the ipod docks and usb internet connection in the central courtyard. The roof terrace has a number of private areas for sunbathing and relaxing. Les Borjs de la Kasbah - Marrakech Situated at the foot of the ancient Kasbah walls, 200 yds from the Royal Palace, this friendly, informal but most professionally run property boasts a fine restaurant, a spa and good sized pool.
Bed & Breakfast
A peacefully intimate riad-style hotel with just 18 bedrooms, Les Borjs is set around attractive flower-filled courtyards, more spacious and lighter than many other riads, its warm sandstone colours immediately creating a welcoming impression. There is a refined but friendly atmosphere here created by the mainly female staff, that really makes you feel at home.
The excellent Le Jasmin restaurant serves a variety of mainly French-inspired cuisine and vegetarian dishes as well as a range of classic Moroccan specialities. Breakfast is a generous buffet with fresh fruit, viennoiseries, local pancakes and eggs cooked to order. Surrounded by bougainvillea and palms, the swimming pool, at the foot of ancient city walls, is perfect for cooling off after a day spent exploring the hot, dusty city – unlike many in the medina, which are little more than plunge pools, this is 10 x 5 metres and heated in winter. The poolside snack bar serves refreshing drinks and light meals – great if you’re looking for a light lunch. Adjacent to the pool is the spa with its domed, marbled hammam and a range of treatments is available in the massage rooms at an additional charge. This is one of the few hotels in Marrakech to operate a no-smoking policy in enclosed spaces. In fact, Les Borjs applies a number of other policies to take account of its impact on the environment, in keeping with widely accepted standards relating to responsible tourism. It is not often that you can feel virtuous about staying somewhere so lovely!
MARRAKE CH
Under British-French ownership, Les Borjs was constructed from 6 town houses and one riad over a period of 4 years and designed and furnished in traditional Moorish Moroccan style with contemporary overtones in décor and furnishing, the work having been carried out by local craftsmen following age-old methods to ensure complete authenticity.
Facilities: outdoor heated pool with adjacent poolside snack bar, a spa with traditional hammam steam room, massage rooms and sauna; there is also a cocktail bar, restaurant patio and two other lounges plus an internet room with free wi-fi access. Facilities subject to charge include: massage and other spa treatments, babysitting and laundry services. Transfer and distances: Just 15 minutes’ walk from the Square of Jemaa el Fna and approximately 15 minutes transfer from the airport. Luxor Temple
With several ground floor rooms this property may be suitable for those with limited mobility. Rooms: 18 rooms including 3 Suites and 3 singles, two of them, plus 2 Standard rooms, being on ground level. Price differences reflect room sizes. Well sound-proofed, appointed and most attractively furnished and decorated, all rooms have: air conditioning, safe, minibar, widescreen (satellite) TV with numerous British channels, telephone, hairdryer and en suite bath or shower (in some cases both) with WC.

an introduction to
The High Atlas Mountains Dramatic mountain scenery, stunning natural beauty and endless opportunities for relaxation make for an idyllic holiday.
The High Atlas Mountains form the backdrop to Marrakech, some 40 miles away by road – and a world away in ambience. A holiday here is the perfect antidote to city life and to the fast pace of 21st century living. Many choose to spend their time simply relaxing by the pool with a good book, surrounded by beautiful scenery, others prefer to be out and about rambling through the countryside and enjoying long walks through the Ouirgane Valley. The mountain vistas are astonishing, and the way of life of the Berber people who inhabit this area is refreshing in its simplicity. A stay in the High Atlas Mountains can form a welcome counterpoint to a trip to Marrakech – see pages 10, 12-13 and 14 for details of multi-centre and tailor-made holidays offering this combination.

The Tinmel Mosque, dating from the 12th century is well worth a visit and a trip to a Berber village such as Imlil or Tikhfist provides an insight into local Berber village life. Stop off and share a glass of refreshingly sweet mint tea accompanied by tanourt, the local bread, freshly baked in a special clay oven. The weekly Berber markets are not to be missed – the market of Asni takes place on Saturdays, Talat n’Yacoub on Wednesdays and Ouirgane on Thursdays - and are a great opportunity to stock up on unusual souvenirs.
Spring is the best time to visit when the lush green of the mountains forms a sharp contrast with the distinctive rust-coloured soil, the flowers are in bloom and snow can still be seen on the peaks. Juniper, poplar, ash and pink oleander are typical of the region. Autumn is also popular, and even in summer the cool mountain air provides respite from the heat of Marrakech.

an introduction to
Essaouira
Golden sand, enchanting old medinas and a relaxed Moroccan ambience combine to create magical beach holidays
Essaouira Essaouira is a charming walled town, its port dominated by a fairytale fortress, its narrow streets, with their brightly painted buildings, home to artists and craftsmen. There are some great restaurants – and seafood is a particular speciality.
28
A thriving trading port since ancient times, and a gateway between Africa and the Occident, Essaouira was a prized conquest. It was the Portuguese who built the imposing Castello Real in 1506, and Sultan Mohamed Ben Abdellah who had the commercial port built in 1765. For the Romans it was the centre of the trade in a distinctive purple Tyrian dye, and since that time it has attracted craftsmen of international renown.
Today, it is renowned for its marquetry of the rare and beautiful wood Thuja, as well as jewellery, pottery, leather and weaving. The narrow streets of the medina and the souk are a great place to wander and browse at leisure for unusual souvenirs.

These days, Essaouira also attracts a more sporty crowd, drawn by its international reputation for excellent conditions for wind-surfing, surfing and kite-surfing. These same trade winds mean that the beach is really too blustery for relaxed sunbathing.
Essaouira
In the 1950s and ‘60s Essaouira began to attract bohemians, artists and musicians who were drawn to its laid-back atmosphere and alternative culture. Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley were frequent visitors. Their legacy is the Gnaoua World Music Festival which takes place in late June and attracts artists and guests from all over the world.

an introduction to
Agadir
Fine sandy beaches and over 300 days of sun per year, Agadir is one of Morocco’s best loved resorts.
Agadir
More reminiscent of the south of France, than traditionally Moroccan, it is a favourite with families and caters for guests of all ages. Those who like an active holiday won’t be disappointed – there are a number of golf courses nearby, and the long sandy beach is perfect for watersports, Quad biking, Camel and Horse riding.
32
London
With its wide palm-lined streets and laid-back beachfront bars and cafes, which stretch along the seafront promenade, Agadir is one of Morocco’s most modern resorts.
Although little remains of the original Kasbah, it is still one of the best vantage points from which to view the resort. Head up to the hill-top site for a stunning panorama of the city and bay. Agadir, is also one of Morocco’s busiest fishing and commercial ports, and its’ new marina is the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere.
Agadir
A holiday in Agadir is all about the beach – an astonishing 5 mile long stretch of fine, golden sand.

The local Soul Al Had is well worth a visit for stocking up on souvenirs and local handicrafts. This traditional marketplace is open Tuesday through to Sunday from sunrise to sunset and it is up to you to barter your way to the best bargain! The city’s location on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, near the foot of the Atlas Mountains, just north of the point where the Souss River flows into the ocean also makes Agadir the perfect base for nature-lovers. A visit to the nearby Souss Massa National park where, dependant on the time of year, you can spot pink flamingos, storks and the bald ibis is not to be missed.

Holidays should be exactly that, a holiday. Fingers crossed nothing bad will happen, but in the unfortunate event that something does go wrong, you want to be able to get all the help you need, when you need it. It is a requirement that all of our travellers have adequate travel insurance to protect you from unforeseen circumstances and we are pleased to recommend Cover-More Travel Insurance All you have to do is choose your policy - annual multi trip policies are perfect for individuals with multiple trips planned within the next year. We can offer maximum durations of 30, 45 and 60 days. Single trip policies are ideal for those one off trips so if you’re a student planning on travelling or taking a gap year this is the one for you. Whatever option you choose you can rest assured you will be protected both before and during your holiday. Make sure you’re covered from the word go.
Holiday Extras
Celebrating Something Special? If you are travelling on your Honeymoon or celebrating a special Anniversary or Birthday whilst you are away on holiday let us know at the time of booking and we can provide a quote for a little something extra, such as; Champagne, wine, chocolates, flowers or fresh fruit to be in your room on arrival.
And don’t forget your Holiday Insurance.. It is a requirement that all of our travellers have adequate holiday insurance, so why not take a look at our policy and get your holiday protected from the day you book with Anatolian Sky Holidays.

General Information Visas/ Passports
G EN ERAL I N F O RMAT I O N
- see also booking conditions on page 39. Visitors to Morocco require a passport valid for at least six months. You do not need to make a visa application in the United Kingdom in advance of your travel. When you arrive you need to acquire an entry visa at the airport. There is currently no charge for a visa for UK passport holders on arrival in Morocco (Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, Fez or Tangier) for stays of up to one month. All other nationalities should contact the Moroccan Consulate on 0207 724 0719 for details of visa requirements. Please note that it is your responsibility to have a valid passport and the correct visa for your holiday. Anatolian Sky cannot be held responsible if you do not travel because of incorrect visa or passport. Any name change through marriage must be notified immediately and before the tickets are issued.
Flight Information
We are delighted to offer our clients complete flexibility by offering a choice of regional airports and a full range of flight options which allows us to offer a bespoke service and enables us to personalise a package to suit your needs Please call our friendly reservations team who will be able to give you the most up to date information and find your perfect holiday. Please be aware flight supplements may apply. Here is a summary of some of the differences between the flights which we are able to offer. Scheduled flights These flights allow customers great levels of flexibility and a high standard of service. They include meals and most drinks are complimentary. Please ask at the time of booking about flight upgrades. Charter flights These are flights that may have restrictions in their durations and normally only offer 7 and 14 night options but they do enable us to offer direct flights from most UK airports. Please ask at the time of booking to confirm what is included in your flight, e.g. flight meals/luggage allowance. Low-cost airlines Low-cost airlines when booked in advance can often offer the most competitive prices. These airlines do not include in-flight meals or drinks and baggage will need to be pre-booked and paid in advance.
Private & Executive Transfers You will be transferred to/from the airport by car or minibus and on some occasions by coach, accompanied by our representative (for car or taxi transfer a representative is not always available). When a minibus or coach is used, it is always air-conditioned. We can also arrange private transfers (by car or taxi) on request. Those on a tailor-made or multi-centre holiday will usually be transferred by taxi with an English-speaking driver. Please note that the transfer times given on hotel pages are shown for guidance only and do not take into account the time it may take to drop off other guests at their accommodation en-route to your own.
Included in your Holiday Cost
• If your package is flight inclusive then you will be advised at the time of booking of whether in-flight meals and drinks are included and baggage weight allowances • Transfer from destination airport to hotel and return • Accommodation and meals as detailed in our brochure • Services of our local representative • Airport Taxes and UK departure tax (APD £5) • £1 to £3 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we pay to the CAA Please note: In the unlikely event of any significant future increase in fuel costs being passed on to us by the airline, we reserve the right pass it on to you as a fuel surcharge. Please see our booking conditions on page 58.
Not Included in your Holiday Cost
• Holiday insurance, which is a requirement and a condition of booking with us (See page 43) • Transport from your home to airport of departure • Optional Excursions • Drinks, extra meals & personal expenses • If you pay for your holiday by credit card then please note that the following charges will apply: Visa or Mastercard 2% American Express 4%. There is no charge for payment by debit cards • Any Flight supplements
Accommodation Accommodation should usually be vacated by 12.00 noon on the day of your departure. This applies even if you are leaving on a night-flight which may leave in the early hours of the following morning. It may be possible for you to arrange a late check-out if you wish to vacate your room after this time. This is at the discretion of the hotel and there will usually be an additional charge payable locally. In some accommodation air-conditioning is only in operation at certain times of the year and/or at set times of the day. Where a hotel is described as having Internet access, either wireless or through a fixed connection, this is usually for those guests travelling with their own laptop. Safety standards are as laid down by the country in question and their regulatory bodies. You should, therefore, take any necessary precautions. If you have any special dietary requirements then please inform us at the time of booking. Where possible we will try our very best to meet your request but please be aware that some hotels that we feature may not be able to provide these fully. We therefore recommend that any specific preferred foods are bought with you. If you should have any concerns regarding the accessibility to any of our properties or tours due to mobility restrictions, then please speak to a member of our team prior to booking, who will advise you accordingly.

Useful Tips
• It is vital that you drink plenty of water in a hot climate such as Morocco’s. Although the water in the hotels featured in this brochure has been filtered and purified, we recommended that you drink only bottled water. • It is useful to take a 2 pin, round pin plug adaptor with you when you visit Morocco where the voltage is 220 volts. • Driving in Morocco is on the right hand side of the road • Taxis in Morocco: There are two types of Taxis grand taxis and petite taxis, grand taxi hold up to 6 passengers and the cheaper petite taxis hold up to 3 passengers. It is advisable to check that the meter is on zero before you start your journey. Elsewhere if a taxi does not have a meter, make sure you agree on a price before you get in. • For self-drive holidays please note that wherever you park in Morocco, no matter for how short a time, upon returning you to your car a non-uniformed person will approach you for a small payment, this is government regulated. • Mosques are usually open all the time, although they do not usually admit visitors during prayer time. Prayer takes place early morning, lunchtime and early evening (dusk). Women are not usually admitted to mosques but if they are they should wear headscarves when visiting and all visitors should remove their shoes at the door, provision is usually made for their security. Both men and women should have their legs and shoulders covered - no shorts or vest-tops. • Naturism and topless sunbathing are not common in Morocco, and any kind of nudity in public is frowned upon. • If you intend to take a photograph of a local inhabitant, you must ask their permission. • Bargaining should be restricted to souvenir areas and not attempted in restaurants, supermarkets, etc. • Make sure that you take necessary precautions in the sun including wearing a high factor sunscreen. • At certain times of year you will benefit from taking insect repellent with you on holiday.

Winter Holidays Our Morocco programme operates all year round. Do bear in mind, however, that not all swimming pools are heated, and that some facilities such as open-air restaurants etc may not be open at certain times of the year. If this is important to you do check when booking.
Health Advice As health advice continually changes, for up to date information, immunisation and health matters you are advised to consult your doctor. The Department of Health provides a leaflet, ‘Health Advice for travellers’, which can be obtained by calling 0800 555 777. The same information is available on line at www.doh.gov.uk. The telephone number for travel advice is 0870 606 0290 or information can be found on line at www.fco.gov.uk.
Electricity/Water Public services in Morocco should not be expected to be of the same level as the U.K. Power and water shortages, unfortunately, do occur and are beyond our control. Although every effort is made by our accommodation owners to provide alternatives in the event of cuts in these services we cannot guarantee these occurrences will be prevented.
Brochure Images We are grateful to the Moroccan Tourist Board for the use of images from their image library, which are their property and for which they hold the copyright. We would also like to credit Alex Cassels and Graham Currey for the use of images taken for Anatolian Sky Holidays. Although we try to ensure that brochure pictures are as accurate as possible at the time of going to print, it is possible that changes will occur to the accommodation or surrounding area, which mean that they may look different by the time you travel. Interior shots, and especially those of individual rooms, are used for illustration purposes only. Rooms can differ quite considerably in aspect so you should not necessarily expect your room to look exactly the same as a room shown in the brochure.
Brochure Content and Publication Please note: The dates of Muslim festivals change annually to coincide with the timings of phases of the moon. Therefore the dates given are approximations. For further information, please contact the Moroccan Tourist Authority in London on 0207 437 0073.
Currency and Exchange Currency in Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham. You can either change money on arrival or in the UK prior to departure. Cashpoint machines are widely available in all major centres. Credit cards are accepted in hotels though not always in local shops and restaurants. Travellers’ cheques are not commonly used although most major banks will exchange them.
At the time of going to press (April 2015), we feel that we have presented a fair and accurate description of resorts and accommodation. Please bear in mind that many facilities e.g. courtesy bus service, entertainment in accommodation, are not under our direct control, and may well be withdrawn or reintroduced. © Copyright, Anatolian Sky Holidays. ATOL All the flights and flight-inclusive holidays in this brochure are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. IMPORTANT Some travel arrangements (e.g. contracted charter airlines flight tickets or flight tickets purchased from certain airlines and certain hotel bookings or holiday extras) may not be refundable or transferable after a reservation has been made. An alteration or cancellation request may incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that particular part of the holiday arrangement. 7. If we change or cancel your travel arrangements It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements, but we do plan the arrangements many months in advance. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. Most of these changes will be minor and we will advise you or your travel agent of them at the earliest possible date.We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may have to cancel it. However, we will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 12 weeks before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the final balance. If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements, you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value). If it is necessary to cancel your travel arrangements, we will pay to you compensation as set out below except where the cancellation arises due to reasons of force majeure: More than 84 days Nil 43 - 83 days £5 29 - 42 days £10 15 - 28 days £15 0 - 14 days £20 In accordance with EU Regulation 2111/2005 we are required to advise you of the actual carrier operating your flight/connecting flight/transfer. We will do this at the time of booking. Any changes to the actual airline after you have received your tickets will be notified to you as soon as possible and in all cases at check-in or at the boarding gate. Such a change is deemed to be a minor change. Other examples of minor changes include alteration of your outward/return flights by less than 12 hours, changes to aircraft type, change of accommodation to another of the same standard, changes of airport between Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted. If we make a major change to your holiday, we will inform you or your travel agent as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your booked holiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. In all cases, except where the major change arises due to reasons of force majeure, we will pay compensation as detailed below: More than 84 days Nil 43 - 83 days £5 29 - 42 days £10 15 - 28 days £15 0 - 14 days £20 The compensation that we offer does not exclude you from claiming more if you are entitled to do so. Advance registration. At the time of booking it may not be possible to confirm flight details, due to airline schedules not being finalised. Should this be the case, you will be informed at the time of booking and on your confirmation invoice. The deposit paid will confirm your accommodation only. If your chosen flights are not confirmed or a suitable alternative offered, a full refund of any money received by us will be given. Force Majeure: This means that we will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control. These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions. 8. If You Have A Complaint If you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. your hotelier) and our resort representative immediately who will endeavour to put things right. If the problem cannot be resolved you must obtain a Client Comment Form from the representative for completion. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to our Customer Services Department at Anatolian House, 81 Warwick Road, Solihull,West Midlands, B92 7HP giving your booking reference and all other relevant information. Please request a Client Dissatisfaction Form which the party leader must complete with full and final details of any dissatisfaction. If you fail to follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst you were in resort and this may affect your rights under this contract.
9. Our liability to you If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed by us or our suppliers we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of your travel arrangements. However we will not be liable where any failure in the performance of the contract is due to: you; or a third party unconnected with the provision of the travel arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall. Our liability, except in cases involving death, injury or illness, shall be limited to a maximum of three times the cost of your travel arrangements. Our liability will also be limited in accordance with and/ or in an identical manner to (a) The contractual terms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements. These terms are incorporated into this contract; and (b) Any relevant international convention, for example the Montreal Convention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respect of travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and the Paris Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, which limit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury, delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage. We are to be regarded as having all benefit of any limitation of compensation contained in these or any conventions. You can ask for copies of the transport companies’ contractual terms, or the international conventions, from our offices: Anatolian House, 81 Warwick Road, Solihull, West Midlands, B92 7HP, Tel: 08448 75 76 73. Under EU law (Regulation 261/2004) you have rights in some circumstances to refunds and/or compensation from your airline in cases of denied boarding, cancellation or delay to flights. Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and will also be available from airlines. However reimbursement in such cases will not automatically entitle you to a refund of your holiday cost from us. Your right to a refund and/or compensation from us is set out in clause 6. If any payments to you are due from us, any payment made to you by the airline will be deducted from this amount. Complaints against airlines should be lodged by calling the CAA’s Consumer Advice line on 0207 7453 6888 10. Prompt assistance in resort If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed as a result of failures attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall, and you suffer an injury or other material loss, we will offer you such prompt assistance as is reasonable in the circumstances. 11. Passport, Visa and Immigration Requirements Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements. Non British passport holders must refer to the embassy of the country they wish to visit to establish what (if any) visas they require. We recommend that you check passport and visa entry requirements before booking your holiday. 12. Force Majeure We will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control. These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, epidemics and pandemics, unavoidable technical problems with transport. 13. Excursions Excursions or other tours that you may choose to book or pay for whilst you are on holiday are not part of your package holiday provided by us. Your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us; in this case, we are not responsible for the provision of the excursion or tour or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the excursion operator. 14. Your responsibility • Check in for both outward and return flights is at least 2 hours prior to the departure times shown on the travel documents. The company can accept no responsibility for clients who arrive late for the check in and miss their flight as a result, nor can we accept responsibility for any loss by you of your holiday/flight travel tickets, vouchers or coupons. • If you have booked flight only it is very important that you reconfirm your return flight at least 48 hours before departure. The company can accept no responsibility for clients who fail to meet this requirement and as a result miss their return transfer/flight due to a time change or similar circumstances. • All clients undertake to behave with propriety and in such a manner as in no way to cause or be likely to cause damage, distress, danger or annoyance to other clients, property and/or any third party. Please note that we reserve the right to terminate without notice the holiday arrangements of any client who, in our absolute discretion, behaves in a way which is disruptive and affects the enjoyment of other holidaymakers, or in a way which threatens to cause or does cause distress, annoyance, damage, or danger to Anatolian Sky staff, customers or to our suppliers. In the event of such termination no compensation will be paid and the client will be liable for any costs incurred as a result of their behaviour or of the termination of this contract. Airlines have the right to refuse to carry, at the absolute discretion of the captain, any passenger who they feel for whatever reason may be disruptive to fellow passengers or airline staff. 15. Flight delays If there is a significant flight delay, the airline should provide you with refreshments according to the time of day. Travel insurance does offer cover against extensive delays and it is a condition of booking that you purchase such cover.

1. Your holiday contract When you make a booking you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept the terms of these booking conditions on behalf of your party. As soon as we accept your deposit or payment and issue our confirmation invoice, a contract exists between us. These booking conditions along with other information in this brochure set out the terms and conditions of the contract between us. We reserve the right to refuse any booking. Conditions No variations to these conditions shall be valid unless agreed by us in writing. Anatolian Sky is a trading name of World Sky Travel Ltd., (administrative offices: Anatolian House, 81 Warwick Road, Solihull,West Midlands, B92 7HP) and are members of ABTA. It is agreed by all parties that this contract is deemed to have been made at our administrative offices and that disputes arising from the contract will be heard in the English courts, unless the customer chooses Scotland or Northern Ireland. 2. Your financial protection We provide full financial protection for our package holidays, by way of our Air Travel Organiser’s Licence number 2672. When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists the flight, accommodation, car hire and/or other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. We will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where we aren’t able do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable). We provide full financial protection for our package holidays that do not include a flight, by way of a bond held by ABTA The Travel Association (V4937). 3. ABTA We are a Member of ABTA, membership number G4234/V4937. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. We can also offer you an arbitration scheme for the resolution of disputes arising out of this contract. The scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently. It is a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you for costs. The upper limit on claims is £5,000 per person and £25,000 per booking form. The scheme doesn’t apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences. It can however deal with claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,500 on the amount the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. Your request for arbitration must be received by ABTA within eighteen months of the date of return from holiday. For injury and illness claims, you can request the ABTA Mediation Procedure and we have the option to agree to mediation. Further information on the Code and ABTA’s assistance in resolving disputes can be found on www.abta.com 4. Your holiday price (i) We reserve the right to alter the prices of any of the holidays shown in our brochure. You will be advised of the current price of the holiday that you wish to book before your contract is confirmed. ii) To confirm your holiday you will be required to pay the appropriate deposit and any other applicable supplements due at the time of booking. For example: when we need to pay a hotel in advance. The balance of the price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 12 weeks before your departure date. Full payment is required for all bookings made no later than 12 weeks of departure. If the deposit and/or balance is not paid in time, we shall cancel your travel arrangements. If the balance is not paid in time we shall retain your deposit. Please note that all payments made by visa or mastercard for your final balance payment (this excludes your deposit payment) will be subject to a 2% surcharge. American Express is subject to a 4% surcharge. All monies you pay to the travel agent are held by them on our behalf at all times. (iii) Changes in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes, embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports and exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. However, there will be no change within 30 days of your departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £1.00 per person together with an amount to cover agents’ commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price) or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on your final invoice. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place. 5. If you change your booking Once your booking has been confirmed, if you wish to change your travel arrangements, we will do our best to meet your requirements where it is possible for us to do so. If we can make the required alteration e.g. to departure airport, date or duration, there will be an administration charge which we will advise you of prior to the amendment being confirmed. You should be aware that such charges may increase significantly as you get closer to your departure date so it is best to contact us as soon as possible. No charge will be made, however, for amendments which involve solely the addition of car hire, insurance or additional arrangements if extra clients are travelling on the same holiday. All amendments must be notified to us in writing by the person who made the booking or your travel agent. If the number of persons booked changes, the holiday price will be recalculated on the basis of the new party size. IMPORTANT Some travel arrangements (e.g. contracted charter airlines flight tickets or flight tickets purchased from certain airlines and certain hotel bookings) may not be refundable or transferable after a reservation has been made. An alteration request may incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that particular part of the holiday arrangement.
16. This brochure This brochure is our responsibility, as your tour operator. It is not issued on behalf of, and does not commit the airlines mentioned herein or any airline whose services are used in the course of your travel arrangements. We have taken every care in ensuring that the information in the brochure is correct at the time of publication. However, we are sure you will appreciate that subsequently minor alteration may arise. In such cases and if we are forewarned we will make every effort to advise you as soon as reasonably possible. This brochure was published in April 2015 and the prices within are valid from 1st November 2015 until the publication of any revised edition. Holidays in this brochure operate from 1st November 2015 until 31st October 2017.
