Tignes France
You’ll be on top of the world in Tignes. Whether you’re an inexperienced skier or an old pro, snow-sure slopes and terrain of all types will keep you occupied all week long. The Skiing
The Resort
If you enjoy spending plenty of time on the slopes, Tignes is for you. At an altitude of more than 2000 metres and with most runs high above the tree line, this resort offers about as good a guarantee of snow as you can get. What’s more, being in the famous Espace Killy ski area, Tignes provides a huge variety of terrain for skiers and boarders, from challenging off-piste powder to leisurely cruising runs.
With Tignes catering well for every standard of skier, the resort is a popular choice for families, groups of friends and singles and couples too. Boasting over 60 restaurants and more than 50 bars, Tignes offers plenty of places to relax after a hard day on the slopes. The cinema and ten-pin bowling alley are popular evening attractions too.
The magnificent Grande Motte glacier has excellent runs back down to resort. Also popular are the long runs down to Tignes-les-Brévières with its many restaurants perfect for lunch out on a terrace. Conveniently for beginners, our chalet hotels are located in the villages of Tignes Le Lac and Le Lavachet, two of the best spots, with wide open nursery slopes almost on the doorstep.
16
The impressive Lagon aquatic centre is well worth a visit, especially as Espace Killy lift pass holders are entitled to free entry. It has several pools, a racing slide and an invigorating adults-only wellness centre with stunning mountain views. Other winter attractions on offer in this busy little resort are an outdoor ice-skating rink on part of the lake, ice diving, dog-sledding, paragliding and riding the funicular up to the glacier.

Val d’Isère France
Once the challenge of a day on Val d’Isère’s reliably snowy slopes is over, there’s a lively nightlife to enjoy in this justifiably popular French resort. The Skiing
The Resort
It’s easy to see why Val d’Isère remains one of the best-loved French skiing destinations. It’s kept the charm and the feel of its rural village roots while growing into a modern resort with a lively atmosphere. Flaunt some fashion if you must, indulge in the crazy nightlife if you care to, but more importantly come for the skiing as there’s superb terrain and enough variety to suit everyone.
Val d’Isère is a popular family resort that provides entertainment and skiing for every age group. A family lift pass is excellent value and every 6-day Espace Killy pass gives free entry to the Centre Aquasportif with its swimming pools and wellness centre. There’s also a natural ice rink with a cosy restaurant for warming back up over hot chocolates.
The nursery slopes are in the middle of the resort and beginners can discover easy runs in breathtaking scenery above the tree line. Stronger skiers have the vast Espace Killy to explore, from the challenge of the Solaise bumps to the wide open pistes of the glacier at Fornet. Off-piste enthusiasts are spoiled for choice and it’s the perfect place to combine off-piste guiding and instruction.
22
Val d’Isère truly comes alive at night and there’s a wide variety of restaurants, live music and dancing into the early hours if you’re in the party mood. The Moris Pub is a popular spot among many other bars and clubs.

There’s good food too, served in the first-floor dining room with its views of the bustling town. We’ll set you up for the day with a cooked breakfast, and then welcome you home from the slopes in the afternoon with hot soup, bread and fresh home-made cakes. A hearty three-course evening meal is accompanied by a choice of wines. The bedrooms are simple but comfortable and there are plenty of single rooms available and even a quad room for groups of friends. Some of the rooms at the Moris are en-suite, with the remainder sharing facilities. The hotel is child-free for most of the season. In school holidays children 7 and up are welcome but no childcare is provided. Free WiFi.

Courchevel 1850 France
There’s no mistaking the fact that the most stylish place to ski in France is Courchevel 1850 with its almost inexhaustible skiing and glittering nightlife. The Skiing
The Resort
Courchevel offers access to an almost overwhelming 600km of perfect pistes shared with the Méribel and Val Thorens valleys, and our Chalet Hotel Dahu in Courchevel 1850 puts you in the perfect place to make the most of the action.
Courchevel 1850 prides itself on being a resort that offers something for everyone, whether you’re travelling as a couple, a family or with a group of friends. Known as the ‘St Tropez’ of winter sports, this exclusive resort is often in the headlines for its celebrity clientele but it’s more importantly renowned for its vast ski area and excellent lift system, which is virtually queue-free. In addition to the skiing, there’s a whole host of other activities on offer, some of which can be found at the Forum Centre, home to an indoor climbing wall, Olympic sized ice rink and a bowling alley. Plus don’t forget to try the famous 2k taboggan run.
After skiing out on the easy, perfectly groomed pistes that run through the centre of the resort, leisurely skiers can drop in on Courchevel 1650 for a relaxing lunch in the sun. Stronger and more adventurous skiers may head for the infamous couloirs at the top of the Saulire cable car or the powder fields of Mont Vallon. The forest above La Tania and Le Praz is just the spot for sheltered skiing in bad weather. Many will want to try the endto-end tour to the Maurienne valley (beyond Val Thorens) and back, which, thanks to the lift system, is comfortably possible in a day.
28
Courchevel 1850 is also renowned for its bars and restaurants. An impressive seven restaurants have been awarded Michelin stars, and there are a variety of luxury shops for a spot of browsing!

Méribel France
Spread your wings and explore the Three Valleys from either of our two properties, with excellent skiing for all levels, famous après ski in Méribel itself or a quieter life in Méribel Mottaret. The Skiing
The Resort
Discover, explore, have fun! Both Méribel and Méribel Mottaret, where our two timberclad properties nestle, are ideal bases for skiers who enjoy plenty of variety.
With plenty of skiing to suit all levels and a wide choice of other activities, it’s not hard to see why Méribel is a family favourite. You won’t win a medal at the Olympic Centre but there’s an indoor swimming pool, climbing wall, ice-skating rink, ten-pin bowling, Turkish baths and more. Take off from the altiport for a spectacular scenic helicopter flight in the mountains.
Intermediates especially will thrive on the 600km of well-kept pistes; you can ski all week and still leave plenty of runs untouched. In the two villages and higher up, beginners can cut their teeth on a wealth of uncrowded nursery slopes. Experts can tackle the infamous Courchevel couloirs and the Chanrossa bumps. If the weather closes in, the forest runs down the valley are the answer, while in sunny conditions, Val Thorens, Europe’s highest resort, is the place to head for.
32
Méribel is one of the livelier alpine resorts and has a good reputation for outstanding nights to match the excellent skiing, with bars and restaurants for every taste. Méribel Mottaret is a little more reserved but has a good choice of bars and restaurants, including Le Rastro, which always has a good buzz. And if you do fancy an evening in Méribel, it’s easily reached by the free resort bus service (from the Chalet Hotel Tarentaise only).

Inside, you’ll find charming home-from-home comforts. In the lounge, relax into the large leather armchairs and sofas in front of the roaring log fire, or enjoy a spot of pampering in the hotel’s beauty salon with sauna. You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to food; a full cooked breakfast in the dining room with its superb views, followed by afternoon tea with a selection of home-made cakes and a delicious three-course dinner chosen from the à la carte menu with complimentary wines. Most of the gorgeously comfy bedrooms have balconies with views, and have extra beds for children. Choose from a twin room right through to a mini

La Plagne France
Up, up and away! One of the highest resorts in the Alps, La Plagne offers a great variety of exciting high-altitude skiing that you’ll find hard to beat anywhere in Europe. The Skiing
The Resort
You’ll feel on top of the world in La Plagne, where most of the runs are between 2000m and 2700m, contributing to the resort’s snow-sure reputation. Beginners will love the generous nursery slopes right on the doorstep of our Chalet Hotel Christina. Book the special ‘Learn to ski’ package and you’ll soon graduate to the multitude of blue runs, which give second-week skiers the chance to spread their wings and discover the thrill of high-mileage skiing. Experts set their sights on the Bellecôte glacier with its superb long black pistes and untracked powder slopes – a rare opportunity to ski descents of more than 2000 vertical metres.
La Plagne enjoys an excellent reputation as a family ski destination, with lessons available for children from as young as 3 years. Our Chalet Hotel Christina, situated in Plagne Centre (1970m), is at the heart of the resort and occupies an ideal slope-side spot for a family or mixed-ability group holiday.
And there’s more! Take the spectacular double-decker Vanoise Express cable car to the Paradiski ski area of La Plagne and Les Arcs to open up over 425km of piste skiing.
38
Our own Scotty’s Bar with its large sun terrace at the foot of the slopes is a popular destination among the many bars and restaurants. For the more adventurous there’s always the chance to try your hand at night-time superluge sledging – a 7km run on closed pistes – or perhaps some moonlight skiing. There’s even a bobsleigh track built for the 1992 Olympics, with three different experiences including bob rafts.

This large, welcoming chalet hotel with its wonderfully relaxed atmosphere is a real hit with families. Best of all is the location – just take a look outside and you’ll see the piste right in front of you, with the lifts directly opposite the hotel and the ski schools 150 metres away. Our staff take good care of you from the moment you arrive to the time you leave, carrying your bags to your room on arrival and offering a renowned childcare service including ski classes for children from as young as 3 years in the fun-filled Snowman Kindergarten. The spacious restaurant and lounge are warm, wooden and bright - the perfect place for socialising with fellow guests. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available anytime during your stay, so you can stretch out on the fabulous first-floor sun terrace and keep an eye on your children playing in the snow below.
Dining in the restaurant is mainly served on large shared tables, although you’re perfectly free to choose a more private dining option if you wish. There’s plenty of delicious food, from full cooked breakfast and three-course dinners to a hearty afternoon tea with a choice of freshly baked cakes, breads and hot soup. If you want to enjoy an early evening or after-dinner drink, relax in the hotel bar or for a spot of après-ski fun, pop into Scotty’s Bar & Restaurant just below. The comfortable bedrooms can be configured to suit your individual needs, and many can take an extra cot or bed. All bedrooms have an en-suite bath or shower room. Free WiFi.

Les Deux Alpes France
Cool for beginners, experts and those crazy freestylers, Les Deux Alpes is lively, colourful and a great place to catch the skiing bug. The Skiing
The Resort
You won’t just like it, you’ll love it! With an impressive snow record and aboveaverage sunshine to put you in the mood, Les Deux Alpes has over 200km of pistes and areas to suit all levels of skier and snowboarder.
Les Deux Alpes is known as a family resort and our Chalet Hotel Bérangère has excellent, spacious accommodation for all the family. The resort positively encourages children by providing five free button lifts in the village and there’s a kids’ freestyle area too. Popular attractions include the outdoor ice rink and two sports centres.
The spacious nursery slopes at village level and an excellent array of easy runs on the glacier provide plenty of variety for beginners. Intermediates can enjoy the versatility of the resort with both sunny skiing and long runs in the trees down to picturesque villages below. Thumbs up for the resort’s efficient lift system which allows experts to chase the abundant and demanding off-piste action. The Snowpark for snowboarders and freestylers is a top attraction and the ‘showtime kicker’, at nearly 4 metres, provides the ultimate challenge.
42
Les Deux Alpes is a lively village and one of the oldest resorts in France. For singles, couples and families you’ll find there’s a wide choice of bars and restaurants along the resort’s main street that will suit all pockets and tastes – including the La Porte d’à Côté, the Tribeca Bar & Restaurant and The Windsor Pub.

An amazing location alongside the piste and the ski schools makes this chalet hotel an alluring choice in one of France’s oldest and most prestigious ski resorts. Nestled at the foot of the slopes and facing south, with a superb uninterrupted view of the mountains, the Bérangère has a large sunny terrace and balconied rooms allowing you to make the most of the sparkling sunshine during good weather. In the evenings, if you fancy a spot of après ski, there are plenty of seats in the lounge and bar - the perfect spot to chat to fellow guests about skiing while relaxing with a warming glass of mulled wine. On the lower ground floor, you’ll find a sauna, steam room and heated indoor swimming pool to soothe those tired muscles, and if you want to pamper yourself even more, try one of the fabulously indulgent beauty treatments and massages.
The sunny bedrooms are tastefully decorated with comfy beds and most have balconies too. There are plenty of room options from singles to family suites, and whether you come on your own, as a family or a couple, you’ll find everything you need. Children are catered for with their own clubs, offering plenty of structured activities, and our qualified childcare staff will take them to and from ski schools for you. Meals are hearty and include a full cooked or continental breakfast, afternoon tea with freshly baked cakes, steaming hot soup and a choice of teas and juices, plus a three-course evening meal with a choice of complimentary wines. Free WiFi.

Courmayeur Italy
A very Italian job! Long lunches, a stylish setting and stunning scenery combine well with great snow and varied terrain to make Courmayeur a memorable skiing experience. The Skiing
The Resort
Spectacular views of the Mont Blanc massif and the magical atmosphere of the car-free, cobbled village make Courmayeur a fabulous place to ski. The resort has an excellent snow record, aided by a very impressive snow-making system. The ski area has a variety of easy and intermediate runs liberally sprinkled with inviting huts, each with a panoramic sundeck and spectacular view. Skis and boots can be left overnight in our ski shop at the base of the cable car. The nursery slopes are just at the top of the cable car for beginners to enjoy.
Relax – in Courmayeur, skiing is only half the story. Delicious lunches are to be enjoyed and savoured (though some may prefer the empty slopes!) and early evenings are spent strolling around the stylish streets eyeing chic shops and simply people-watching.
For stronger skiers Courmayeur offers excellent opportunities, with famous off-piste runs such as the VallĂŠe Blanche into Chamonix and the Toula Glacier in the shadow of Mont Blanc. This is a great resort to hitch up with a guide and try some of the best value heli-skiing in Europe.
46
When the family comes off the slopes, the multi-sport centre, the Palasport, has ten-pin bowling, a climbing wall and other activities. The more adventurous might try a spectacular hot-air balloon trip. Our Courmayeur chalet hotel is an adult-only affair outside school holidays. Kids over 7 are welcome in the school holidays but no childcare is available.

Looking good! Traditional charm, a splendid location and serious nightlife are the backdrop for big skiing, freeriding and the chance of some world-class off-piste action. The Skiing
The Resort
The village centre is as eye-catching as the skiing. A wonderful mix of old and new architecture and car-free too, St Anton is well known as a resort for experienced skiers and snowboarders.
There’s plenty to occupy the family beyond the many skiing possibilities. In addition to the perennial resort favourites of ice skating and tobogganing, there’s a wonderful wellness centre with indoor and outdoor heated pools, children’s pool, sauna, whirlpool and massage. You can also take a sleigh ride together.
If you are a beginner, fear not. There are handy nursery slopes on the edge of the village and 24 easier runs to conquer. Intermediates will find plenty of friendly runs across Gampen, Rendl and St Christoph. For a change of scenery and perfectly groomed pistes, head over to Lech and Zürs, easily reached by bus. For the adventurous, the high-speed Galzig lift takes you from the resort centre to the magnificent unpisted bowls and gullies. Try the long blast down to Stuben, where the chairlifts serve a vast area of uncrowded north-facing powder fields.
50
By day St Anton is a quaint and peaceful town, but when evening comes the legendary après-ski scene takes over. There’s a great atmosphere in the bars at the foot of the slopes and later you can join the partying in the pubs and clubs, many with live music and visiting DJs, including the legendary Krazy Kanguruh, the renowned Moosewirt or our very own Scottys Bar.

Tyrolean charm abounds and a sociable atmosphere reigns in this chalet hotel in the heart of a resort known for its skiing and après ski. You’ll love the location of the Chalet Hotel Rosanna – it’s just off the pedestrianised main street and only a five-minute walk from the ski schools and the main lifts. Inside this traditional chaletstyle building you’ll find plenty of Tyrolean charm, with ornately carved wooden ceilings and typically Austrian solid wooden furniture. This hotel is adult-only outside the school holidays. The welcoming lounge with its private bar is a great place to socialise with fellow guests, as is Scotty’s Bar right next door, which has a lively, fun atmosphere and serves delicious pizzas too. Meals are served in a charming dining room. Stoke yourself up for the day with a hearty cooked
breakfast or an appetising continental option with fresh pastries. And we make sure there’s plenty of home-baked cakes and warming soup available for high tea when you come in from the slopes, and in the evening, a delicious three-course meal accompanied by a choice of complimentary wines The well-styled bedrooms have a contemporary feel and en-suite bathrooms. Choose from twin or Austrian twin rooms (with two twins pushed together or a king-size with two single mattresses), many with their own balcony . The hotel is child-free for most of the season. In school holidays kids aged 7 and up are welcome but no childcare is provided. Free WiFi.

Zell am See Austria
Picture-postcard views, a pretty lakeside town and access to both the Schmittenhöhe ski area and Kitzsteinhorn glacier ensure this charming winter sports location has something for everyone. The Skiing
The Resort
Perched on a small peninsula jutting out into a sparkling lake surrounded by breathtaking mountains, Zell forms a gateway to the Schmittenhöhe ski area above, where you’ll find slopes perfect for beginners and families and a vast fun park for all. The main ski lift (City Express Gondola) is a couple of minutes walk from our Mountain Lake Resort and the resort runs also finish here.
The origins of this traffic free, medieval town, live on in the weekly market stalls in the central square, while regional food and vibrant après ski abound in more than 100 restaurants, inns, chalets and pubs in the town and mountains. Cosy huts offer calmer après ski in the form of Kasnocken (pasta dumplings) and mulled wine accompanied by valley views, or the Kitzsteinhorn’s Ice Camp igloo complex has a vodka ice-bar and its Gipfelwelt 3000 offers the highest viewing platforms in Salzburg province and a mountain cinema.
The neighbouring resort of Kaprun, included on your lift pass and a short bus ride away gives you access to the vast snowfields on the Kilzsteinhorn glacier. Popular among freeriders and freestylers with more advanced skiing up to 3000m and guaranteed snow. Getting from mountain to mountain couldn’t be easier, with the shuttle free of charge to ski-pass holders.
54
Other treats include tobogganing, riding the Maisiflitzer Alpine Coaster and lake ice-skating. And Zell’s leisure centre, within easy walking distance of the apartments, has an indoor pool with waterslide, kids’ pool with pirate ship, ice rink, bowling and a new indoor–outdoor sauna complex.

they’ll advise you on the ski area, arrange groups together, reserve tables at the best lunch stops and join you for lunch.

We recommend that you book ski school before you travel, especially during busy school holiday periods. Our children’s clubs Baby Club 4 to 11 months
Toddler Club 1 to 2 years
Mini Club 3 to 5 years
Our Baby Clubs provide a warm, homely and secure environment. We provide a keyworker so the little ones are soon settled and contented. Your baby’s day is organised to fit in with their needs and, wherever possible, to your times for naps and feeds. So when your holiday’s over, you’ll hopefully be able to slip back into your normal routine.
Our Toddler Club is perfectly set up for this most lively minded age group. Throughout the day our nannies provide a busy programme of games, stories, music and art to keep toddlers amused. Weather permitting, there are buggy outings and snow play for the older toddlers. Where possible, we try to ensure that children have the same keyworker all week, and we do our utmost to adapt to your child’s usual daily routine.
Our Mini Club is pure fun! Children will enjoy sledging, snowman building and exciting cable car rides – often with a stop-off for a cup of hot chocolate. The action continues indoors, with a full programme that includes arts and crafts, face painting and games. If you’ve a 4 or 5 year old who’d like to combine activities with learning to ski, we can arrange half-day ski school* with drop-off and collection by our nannies. In La Plagne, the Snowman Kindergarten ski school, is provided especially for 3 year olds.

Kidz Club 6 to 12 years In the Kidz Club it’s all about action, with the emphasis on having fun in the snow. And if your children also want to ski, they’re still welcome to join. Our nannies can take them to and from ski school* and bring them back for lunch with the others from the Kidz Club. For non-skiers there’s a packed programme of entertainment from sledging, snow sculptures, face painting, games and treasure hunts. Our energetic nannies also supervise excursions such as bowling and ice skating for which there’s a small extra charge.
Let our childcare staff do the ski school run Children off to ski school? Our childcare staff will drop the children off and pick them up when it’s over. They’ll ensure they’re settled into their class and collect them for lunch back at the chalet hotel. At the end of the day, it’s back to the chalet hotel for tea.

Learning to ski Whichever resort you choose, we offer excellent ski schools for children. We take great care to choose the best in order to make learning as much fun as possible. All the instructors are English speaking and skilled at teaching children, so your child will settle in quickly and enjoy their lessons. Ski schools usually take children from 4 years and class sizes are usually no more than 10, and often smaller, so everyone gets plenty of individual attention. We’ve places reserved in all our recommended ski schools but these spaces are limited due to small class sizes, so it’s essential to book early – especially for the school holidays.

Step 1 Book your lessons in advance with our Reservations staff, ideally when you book your holiday to secure a place. Step 2 A ski school representative, will visit your chalet hotel on arrival day to discuss which class is best for your child. Depending on the resort and your child’s age, classes are either half or full days. Step 3 Lessons are lightly structured with an emphasis on learning by copying and having fun. At the end of the week each child is presented with an award and a certificate to celebrate their achievements on the mountain.
Ski from 3 years Being little doesn’t mean missing out on the ski fun. The Snowman Kindergarten in La Plagne is the perfect way to get 3 year olds started. In the ski playground your child will have a wonderful time under the watchful eye of an English-speaking instructor. When they’re feeling confident in the snow, they’ll move on to the little draglift and ski down the gentle nursery slope.
Childcare
Leave it to us Travelling with children means there’s a lot to think about, so we’ve tried to do some of the thinking for you. Hopefully we’ve covered most things below, but if you’ve any other questions, don’t hesitate to call us; our specialist childcare team are only too happy to help. Children’s equipment At all our chalet hotels offering childcare, we supply travel cots and cot bedding, steam sterilisers, nappy changing facilities, baby baths and potties. Nappies, processed baby foods and powdered milk can all be bought locally, but if your child is used to a particular brand, it’s best to bring your own supplies. Please also bring a small rucksack (labelled with your child’s name) for your child’s belongings during the day. Children’s beds Children aged two and over will have a bed. If you need a bed ‘side’ to prevent them falling out, please request this via our After Sales department on 0844 884 3806.
Illness Should your child become ill, we ask you to take over your child’s care to reduce the risk of spreading infection. Once an exclusion period has applied, re-admission will be at the discretion of the Childcare Manager. Children with special needs If your child has special needs we’ll do our best to accommodate them. We simply ask you to call us before booking your holiday to discuss what arrangements we might need to make and to ensure that we are able to help you on your chosen departure date. Private nannies Unfortunately we can’t allow informal supervision in our children’s clubs by nannies not employed by Mark Warner as this may lead to problems with accountability and legal responsibility.
Breakfast: Children to be supervised by parents. Lunch: Children booked into children’s clubs and lunching at the chalet hotel are supervised by the childcare team. High Tea: At 5pm a high tea is served to the younger children. Early Dinner: During school holidays, an early dinner is served at 7pm. At all mealtimes we ask that you supervise your children, unless they are booked into our children’s clubs where a member of the childcare team will supervise. Children who have early dinner or high tea are not expected to attend dinner later, as this is an essentially grown-up occasion.

Please read clause 6 of our booking conditions for more details. During the season it may be necessary on certain dates to purchase extra flights and/or coach capacity. We will endeavour to assist if we can. Once we have issued the confirmation invoice, there will be a charge of £35 per person per occasion a change is made (if the change can be made) except as set out below. Amendment may result in the recalculation of the holiday price and the loss of previously applicable discounts or other special offers if the amendment means the conditions applicable to the previous calculation or a discount or other offer are no longer met (for example, because the number travelling has fallen below the minimum required) or the basis on which the price was calculated has changed (for example, because only one person is occupying a twin or double room).Changes made within 10 weeks of departure and any change of holiday dates will be treated as a cancellation of the original arrangements by you and cancellation charges will apply, please see clauses 4 and 5 in our booking conditions for further details (note that these cancellation charges apply to all pre-booked elements of your holiday). However, if the change is to increase the number of persons booked (without any other change), no amendment fee or cancellation charges will be payable (although you will of course have to pay any increase in the total holiday cost). Subject to meeting the conditions set out in clause 5 of our booking conditions, no amendment fee or cancellation charges will apply for a name change where the holiday arrangements otherwise remain exactly as originally booked unless flight tickets have been issued. In this case, an amendment
fee of £35 per name change will be payable if on charter flights. In this situation, full cancellation charges will apply. Accordingly, you must provide us with all information we ask you for when we ask for it. Where you make your own flight arrangements, you are responsible for providing API to the airline, if booking direct, or to your travel agent, when requested to do so. If within 7 days of our issuing the reminder we have not received full payment, we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking and we will retain the deposit paid. If we do not cancel straight away because you have promised to make payment, you must pay the cancellation charges shown in clause 5 depending on the date we reasonably treat your booking as cancelled. Except for flight inclusive bookings, all monies you pay to one of our authorised travel agents for your holiday with us will be held by the agent on your behalf until a contract between us comes into existence. After that point, your agent will hold the monies on our behalf until they are paid to us. The exchange rate is Euro 1. 39 We reserve the right to make changes to and/ or correct errors in advertised prices at any time before your holiday is confirmed. We will advise you of any change or correction of which we are aware and of the then applicable price at the time of booking.
Once the price of your chosen holiday has been confirmed at the time of booking, we will only increase or decrease it in the following circumstances. Price increases or decreases after booking will be passed on by way of a surcharge or refund. A surcharge or refund (as applicable) will be payable, subject to the conditions set out in this clause, in the event of changes in transportation costs (e.g. fuel, scheduled airfares and any other airline surcharges which are part of the Please note all payments made by contract between airlines (and their credit card incur a handling fee (not agents) and the tour operator) and/ applicable to debit cards) which is or in any dues, taxes or fees payable shown on our website and will be for services such as landing taxes or advised at the time of booking embarkation or disembarkation fees at Please carefully read your confirmation ports or airports and/or where our costs invoice, tickets and all other documents increase or decrease as a result of any changes in the exchange rates which we send you as soon as you receive have been used to calculate the cost of them. Any surcharge must be paid with the balance of the cost of the holiday or within 14 days of the issue date printed on the surcharge invoice, whichever is the later. We promise not to levy a surcharge within 30 days of departure. No refund will be made during this period either. Please note, changes and errors occasionally occur. You must check the price of your chosen holiday at the time of booking. 4 Amendments by the client All amendments to bookings must be requested by telephone to the After Sales Department on 0844 884 3806 (and confirmed in writing if requested by the After Sales Department) or by e-mail to administration@markwarner. co.uk or if you have booked through one of our authorised travel agents, through the agent. If we are able to accept the change we will charge an amendment fee of £35 per person per occasion a change is made. Amendment may result in the recalculation of the holiday price and the loss of previously applicable discounts or other special offers if the amendment means the conditions applicable to the previous calculation or a discount or other offer are no longer met (for example, because the number travelling has fallen below the minimum required) or the basis on which the price was calculated has changed (for example, because only one person is occupying a twin or double room). Changes made within 10 weeks of departure and any change of holiday dates will be treated as a cancellation of the original arrangements by you and cancellation charges will apply as shown in clause 5. However, if the change is to increase the number of persons booked (without any other change) no amendment fee or cancellation charges will apply (although you will of course have to pay any increase in the total holiday cost). Subject to your meeting the conditions set out in clause 5 no amendment fee or cancellation charges will apply for a name change where the holiday arrangements otherwise remain exactly as originally booked unless flight tickets have been issued. In this case, a £35 per person amendment fee is payable. In addition, scheduled airlines may treat any change (including a name change) made to a scheduled flight after tickets have been issued as a cancellation of the original booking and impose 100% cancellation charges. In order to make such a change in this situation, the full cost of the flight(s) affected must be paid again, in addition to the amendment fee of £35 per person. Please also see clause 5 below. 5 Cancellation by the client Cancellation shall take effect only when written notification from the first named person on the booking is received by us or your travel agent. In all cases of cancellation the deposit and any amendment charges will be forfeited. If the booking is cancelled 10 weeks or less before departure the

We must receive this information from you or your travel agent as applicable at least 14 days before the start of the holiday. (b) Please see clause 4 for details of any amendment fees and other charges/ costs which may be payable. Any part of the booking not transferred and/or subsequently cancelled will be subject to cancellation charges as detailed above. (c) Everyone who goes on holiday in place of anyone who was originally due to travel must agree to these Booking Conditions and any other requirements which apply to the holiday before the change can be finalised. If the full price should have been paid when the change is requested but hasn’t been, this must also be paid before the change can be finalised. 6 Alteration/Cancellation by Mark Warner Arrangements for the holidays featured on our website and in our brochure are made many months in advance. All details of our programme cannot be fully confirmed before publication of the relevant brochure. Occasionally, we have to make changes to and correct errors in website and/or brochure and other details before and after bookings have been confirmed or cancel confirmed bookings. Whilst we always endeavour to avoid changes and cancellations, we must reserve the right to do so. The possibility of such changes (which may be significant) is greater for those bookings made prior to publication of the brochure. However, in no case will we cancel your confirmed holiday less than ten weeks before departure except where we are forced to do so as a result of
‘force majeure’ (as defined in clause 8) or failure on your part to comply with any requirement of these Booking Conditions entitling us to cancel (such as paying on time). Most changes are minor. Occasionally, we have to make a significant change. A significant change is a change made before departure which, taking account of the information you give us at the time of booking and which we can reasonably be expected to know as a tour operator, we can reasonably expect will have a major effect on your holiday. A minor change is any other change. The following changes when made before departure are examples of significant changes: • a change of your UK departure airport to one which, in our reasonable opinion, is more inconvenient for you. A change from one London airport to another will not be a significant change (London airports are Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted)), • a change of scheduled UK departure time by 12 hours or more (not including flight delays), • a change of accommodation for the whole or a substantial proportion of your holiday. Please note, a change in flight time of less than 12 hours, carrier, type of aircraft (if advised), destination airport (see also clause 9 below) or resort transfer arrangements will not constitute a significant change but will be treated as a minor change except where otherwise stated in these conditions. If we have to make a significant change or cancel before departure, we will advise you or your travel agent as soon as we reasonably can and give you the choice of the following options if there is time to do so before departure: (a) (for significant changes) accepting the changed arrangements or (b) purchasing an alternative holiday from us, of a similar standard as originally booked if available (if the alternative offered is less expensive, you will receive a refund but if it is more expensive, you will not usually be asked to pay any more) or (c) cancelling or accepting the cancellation in which case you will receive a prompt and full refund of all monies paid to us. If we have to make a significant change or cancel, we will, where compensation is appropriate, pay you the compensation amounts set out in the table below as a minimum. Payment of any compensation in the event of a significant change or cancellation is subject to the following general exceptions. Compensation is not payable in relation to any Advance Registration bookings taken prior to the publication of this brochure which are changed or cancelled when the programme is confirmed on brochure publication or where we notify you of a change or cancellation more than 100 days prior to your scheduled departure. Compensation will not be payable and no liability beyond offering the above mentioned choices can be accepted where we are forced to make a change or cancel as a result of unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which we could not have avoided even with all due care. No compensation will be payable and the above mentioned
options will not be available if we cancel as a result of your failure to comply with any requirement of these Booking Conditions entitling us to cancel (such as paying on time) or if the change made is a minor one. No compensation is payable for children aged 2 or under. Period before departure when we notify you or your travel agent between 70 & 100 days between 28 & 70 days between 14 & 27 days 14 days or less
Minimum compensation per person £20 £30 £40 £50
Very rarely, we may be forced to change or terminate your holiday after departure but before the scheduled end of your time away as a result of ‘force majeure’ (see clause 8). In this very unusual situation, we regret we cannot make any refunds (except where these are obtained from suppliers) or pay any compensation or be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by you as a result. If, after departure, we are unable to provide a significant proportion of the services we had agreed to provide as part of our contract with you, we will do our very best to make suitable alternative arrangements. If we cannot do so or you refuse to accept these for good reasons, we will arrange to fly you back to your UK departure airport (if your holiday includes flights) or to transport you to the point our contracted services commenced (if elsewhere than your hotel) as soon as we reasonably can. Except as set out above, you will in addition be entitled to compensation where appropriate. 7 Denied Boarding Regulations If your flight is cancelled or delayed, your flight ticket is downgraded or boarding is denied by your airline, depending on the circumstances, the airline may be required to pay you compensation, refund the cost of your flight and/or provide you with accommodation and/or refreshments under EC Regulation No 261/2004 - the Denied Boarding Regulations 2004. Where applicable, you must pursue the airline for the compensation or other payment due to you. All sums you receive or are entitled to receive from the airline concerned by virtue of these Regulations represent the full amount of your entitlement to compensation or any other payment arising from such cancellation, delay, downgrading or denied boarding. This includes any disappointment, distress, inconvenience or effect on any other arrangements. The fact a delay may entitle you to cancel your flight does not automatically entitle you to cancel any other arrangements even where those arrangements have been made in conjunction with your flight. We have no liability to make any payment to you in relation to the Denied Boarding Regulations or in respect of any flight cancellation or delay, downgrading of any flight ticket or denial of any boarding as the full amount of your entitlement to any compensation or other payment (as dealt with above) is covered by the airline’s obligations under the Denied Boarding Regulations. If, for any reason, we make any payment to

In these Booking Conditions ‘force majeure’ means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events are likely to include (whether actual or threatened) war, civil strife, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, epidemics, volcanic eruption, airport, port or airspace closures, restrictions or congestion, flight restrictions imposed by any regulatory authority or other third party, technical problems with transport, adverse weather conditions and all similar events outside our control. 9 Travel In accordance with EU Directive (EC) No 2111/2005, we are required to bring to your attention the existence of a “Community list” which contains details of air carriers that are subject to an operating ban within the EU. The Community list is available for inspection at http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/ list_en.htm We are also required to advise you of the actual carrier(s) (or, if the actual carrier(s) is not known, the likely carrier(s)) that will operate your flight(s) at the time of booking. Where we are only able to inform you of the likely carrier(s) at the time of booking, we shall inform you of the identity of the actual carrier(s) as soon as we become aware of this. This will be the case even if the services did not comply with the laws and standards of the UK which would have applied had those services been provided in the UK. The exception to this is where the claim or complaint concerns the absence of a safety feature which might lead a reasonable holiday maker to refuse to take the holiday in question. Please note, however, our obligation is to exercise reasonable skill and care as referred to in clause 11(1). We do not make any representation or commitment that all services will comply with applicable local laws and standards and failure to comply does not automatically mean we have not exercised reasonable skill and care. Additionally we cannot accept liability for any claims, expenses or losses which relate to any business (including without limitation any loss of earnings incurred by any clients who are self employed). 12 Airlines and other carriers When you travel with any carrier, the conditions of carriage of that carrier will apply, some of which will limit or exclude their liability to you often in accordance with the applicable international convention or EU regulation (for examples, see clause 11(6)). Copies of the conditions of carriage are available from the carrier or ourselves. Our website and our brochure are our responsibility. They are not published on behalf of, and do not commit the airlines mentioned or any other airline whose services are used for any holiday. Please note that in accordance with Air Navigation Orders, for a child not to be allocated their own seat on an aircraft they must be under 2 years of age on the date of their return flight. 13 Insurance You must have insurance which provides cover that is suitable and adequate for your specific requirements. Please read your policy details carefully and take them on holiday with you. Please note that most travel insurance policies do not cover hazardous activities. If you intend to take part in any such activities, you must obtain appropriate specialist insurance cover. We do not check insurance policies. We do however act as an introducer for Citybond Suretravel who may be able to provide you with suitable travel insurance. Please see our brochure/website for further details. 14 Website and Brochure information and outside activities (a) The information contained on our website and in our brochure is correct to the best of our knowledge at the
time of publication. Our website and brochure descriptions often refer to other activities and/or excursions which are available outside the hotel and are bookable direct with the operator/centre concerned in resort. These activities and excursions are not run, controlled, endorsed or recommended in any way by Mark Warner. They do not form any part of your contract with Mark Warner even where we suggest particular operators/centres or other third parties and/or assist you in booking such activities and/or excursions in any way. Accordingly, we regret Mark Warner cannot accept any liability in relation to these outside activities and excursions and our acceptance of liability under clauses 6 and 11(1) of our Booking Conditions will not apply to them. We do not however exclude liability for the negligence of ourselves or our employees (providing they were at the time acting within the course of their employment with us) resulting in your death or personal injury. (b) Where we or your hotel make or take any booking for or from you in respect of any activity or excursion available outside the hotel, we or the hotel, as applicable, do so solely as booking agent. This is the case regardless of whether the activity or excursion is advertised or mentioned in our brochure, in resort, on our website or elsewhere. Your contract for any such activity or excursion will be with the supplier or operator of that activity or excursion. Mark Warner has no liability for any such activity or excursion or for any act(s) or omission(s) of the supplier or operator or for any of its/ their employees or agents or any other person(s) connected with the activity or excursion. If we or the hotel are found liable in any respect for any such activity or excursion (for example in our capacity as booking agent), that liability is limited to the cost of the particular activity or excursion concerned. We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence or that of our employees (providing they were at the time acting within the course of their employment with us). (c) Where your hotel makes or takes a booking for or from you in respect of an activity, facility or service provided by the hotel but which is not advertised in our brochure or on our website and we have not taken any payment from you for this activity, facility or service, your contract for that activity, facility or service is directly with the hotel and not Mark Warner. This contract will be subject to the hotel’s own terms and conditions. Mark Warner has no liability for any such activity facility or service or for any act(s) or omission(s) of the hotel or for any of its employees or agents or any other person(s) connected with the activity service or facility. If however Mark Warner is found liable in any respect for any such activity, service or facility that liability is limited to the price you paid for the particular activity, facility or service concerned. We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence or that of our employees (providing they were at the time acting within the course of their employment with us). (d) We cannot guarantee accuracy at all times of information given in relation
to any of the above activities and excursions or about the resorts generally (except where this concerns the services which will form part of your contract) or that any particular excursion or activity will take place or be available as these services are not under our control. If you feel that any of the activities or excursions mentioned are vital to the enjoyment of your holiday, write to us immediately and we will tell you the latest known situation. If we become aware of any material alterations to resort information and/or such activities or excursions which can reasonably be expected to affect your decision to book a holiday with us, we will pass on this information at the time of booking.
