An artist out of Miami, Florida is using his life’s testimony

to create reality-music he hopes will inspire others. After

fighting for his life in a hospital bed, the rap artist known as B.L.I.N.D. realized the value of his life. Song tracks from his newest album titled “Faith. Love + Hardwork,” give a

glimpse into his journey. It will be available on streaming platforms March 18, 2021. B.L.I.N.D. often reflects on the scope of his life and the importance of sharing it with others. On Father’s Day 2020 he debuted the video for “Daddy Sorry.” The track was

initially released in 2011 and received airplay on WEDR 99JAMZ, Hot105 and V103 FM (Atlanta). V103FM plays the song track every Father’s Day. He decided to re-release the track after fans of the song asked him to. The song is an open-letter apologizing to his children for being an absent father. “I was chasing money and women and there were times that I should’ve been there for my kids but I wasn’t,” admits BLIND. “I had to apologize to my kids for that.”

The music video features the rapper’s own father who was also in and out of his son’s life. In the video BLIND’s father admits his faults. BLIND, sitting next to his father, offers understanding and forgiveness. These days, BLIND is a better father to his 6 children. Raised by a Haitian mother, BLIND was taught to prioritize his school work and to walk the straight line. However BLIND’s father battled a drug addiction and didn’t provide much reinforcement to his son. Irvin Aboite recalls being young, carefree, and outright hard-headed. At age 13 he endured a seizure caused by a blot clot on his brain. He was in a coma for 2 weeks. Doctors told his mother that she had two choices—to unplug his life support or to wait it out with the odds that he’d be a vegetable. His mother chose to wait on his recovery, a testament to his life.

“My mom prayed so hard during that time,” BLIND shares. “She was there every step of the way. She’d get off of work at the bank and be right back at the hospital by my side.” A customer at the bank prophesized to his mother and gave her comfort to know he would pull through and fully recover. But as BLIND grew older, he gave his mom even more grief. He made a long list of bad choices—skipping class and becoming an absentee father in his teen years. “I started being a follower just trying to fit in and belong to something,” admits BLIND. “After I kept hitting wall to wall, I knew I needed to change some things I was doing.”

BLIND began attending church with his cousin, something the rebel once dreaded after being made to go by his mom when he was younger. He enjoyed the message the Pastor shared and in 2010 he was baptized. The transformation made him realize he had “Been Lost—I’m Now Delivered” which inspired the name B.L.I.N.D. “My music is a gift from God,” says BLIND. “You have to allow the gift to make room for you.” Wendell Ford of WEDR 99JAMZ says that BLIND is an energetic artist that young people and kids gravitate to. He has watched him perform a couple of times. “He’s a blessing to those who get to see him perform,” says Ford, on-air personality and host of a Gospel Sunday show. “He’s very exciting and energetic.”

“BLIND doesn’t consider himself a gospel

artist. Instead, he is a world music artist telling his story through many different genres. He wants to continue to make music that will impact the world without being put in a box. His newest single, “Go Get It,” is a go-getter’s anthem that encourages everyone to go after their dreams. “Whether that goal is marriage, a house, or money, you can have it,” says BLIND, who founded Get B.I.G. Entertainment, a record label. “You have to get out there and do whatever it takes to make it happen for yourself.”
