work, juggling several ventures day in and day out. He created “ROE Clothing” in 2013 as a way to gain brand recognition for his artistry. Roe was promoting a song-track titled “Work.” He often wears his brand in his music videos, entertainment interviews, on his G-Block Squad skit-show, and on podcasts he co-hosts. Roe upholds a “Respect. Ova. Everything” mantra by prioritizing quality over quantity in his creative process. His own experiences with poorlymade clothing gave him insight to elevate the standard of his brand. "I experienced so much wear and tear from clothing brands that were just below the standard,” says Roe. “When I create clothing I design it to be comfortable, with the best material so it can be worn much longer— and not just for the moment.”

BUDDY ROE IS ALWAYS SURE TO WEAR HIS CLOTHING BRAND IN HIS MUSIC VIDEOS. Naomi Bray, a model he often enlists for his line’s photoshoots, says she loves that she can wash the clothes several times without it shrinking or the design fading. “His clothing allows me to be cute but not sacrifice my comfort-ability,” she says about his V-neck tees, long-sleeve shirts, pull-over hoodies and newly launched hoodie dresses. Roe considers himself a “walking billboard” for his business. And the hundreds of people wearing “Bout Dat Work” are also billboards. “It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that people support and believe in what I do,” says Roe. “They show real love, support and value for me.” Bray says Roe’s genuine support of other hard-working creatives could

be the “recipe” for his success as fellow musicians also wear his clothing line. Roe is hands-on with the development of new looks for his apparel line. However he leans on Wichita graphic designer Chad Steele to make his ideas a reality. He takes an interesting approach when he wants to test a new concept. Roe consults with a group of people that “aren’t necessarily into fashion.” “A person who wears a lot of fashion and brands will critique fashion quite a bit,” he says. “But people who aren’t into fashion will give you a lot of insight into what they like and what would make them want to buy it.”

Roe has received great feedback for the hoodie dresses he recently added to his apparel line. Soon, he will add women’s biker shorts and men’s basketball shorts. For more information or to drape yourself in “Bout Dat Work” clothing, visit the website.
