one hell of a story, right? But for an artist, it’s one hell of a song! Fiq is a Richmond, Virginia artist who enjoys being the

life of the party. So when he and his fiancé got friends together last year and took over Vegas to celebrate their

bachelor-bachelorette festivities, he knew it would be full of good times. A bartender at Blue Rhino suggested

“It was like a hundred dollars less than a bottle of [Don Julio] ‘1942,’” says Fiq, who dubs himself the “Flip It Quik” artist. “So we were like, ‘Alright, we’ll try it.’” The group had been partying for a few days and had even rented a Slingshot to ride around town in. But upon leaving the club, Fiq stopped at a red light. Shortly after pulling off, police got behind him and turned on their lights. He was arrested and cited for a DUI. Despite being arrested, Fiq enjoyed himself and created a song as an ode to the Casamigos drink titled, “Casamigo Lingo.” In October he filmed a video and short-film for the song, which he says has a “strip-club and street vibe.” The inspiration for the visual comes from the “Desperado” movie, a favorite flick for the artist. Fiq is currently working on creating quality singles ahead of an album to be released in 2021.

creating new music.

He has opened for several artists like Kodak Black, Zed Zilla, and Shawty Lo. He also performed for the Hustle Gang Tour when the show came to Richmond. Fiq used to pay concert promoters to be a show opener. But now he brings performers like rapper Trina to his hometown. He uses the platform to build his fan base. “It’s important to change the narrative,” B Y B R A Y N R I C E says Fiq, who invests into his music career through features, studio time, and video production. “We can bring our own acts to town and create our own platform to play our music.” “I think it’s better that way and it shows your independence,” adds Fiq. Fiq and his Mean Green Team collaborated with Memphis rapper Zed Zilla for a feature a few years ago. The Mean Green Team is a group of artists Fiq created music with before venturing out as a solo artist. He's preparing to release the visuals for a song titled, “Lose My Cool.” His single, “Blue Benjamins,” is currently in rotation at WBTJ 106.5 The Beat. The song track appeared on his “2Much Time W8sted” album which debuted back in February. “He’s magical when it comes to his craft,” says WBTJ 106.5’s Kool DJ Foot. “He thinks outside of the box and gets real creative.” Kool DJ Foot, also of Richmond, was the first to play Fiq’s “Casamigo Lingo” record. Fiq is confident that his die-hard supporters will be requesting his music in the clubs and on radio, leaving the world no choice but to catch on.
