Effective protection is essential, but success or failure on the mountain also depends on the ability to maintain a sense of touch, and on the functionality and durability of the ac cessories.

Practical – Especially When You’re Up Against It. The worse the weather, the clearer the intelligence of Mammut’s backpack designs. Take the lockable and glove-friendly Cyberian buckles, for instance. Or the back’s smooth, snow-shedding fabric outer, the ability to customize the pack thanks to detachable features or the benefit of being able to attach skis and snowboards.

«Great organization, great activities, great photo shoot – hats off!» . . . it sounds like an advert, but it’s actually a quote from Danielle of Germany. She and 200 other test participants of all nationalities spent an unforgettable weekend with Mammut brimful of fun and action. Mammut’s Lucido headlamps were on hand to ensure no one was left in the Grindelwald dark. Absolute alpine. Absolute fun!

«My 1000 kilometers have been worth it!» Frank from the Netherlands really enjoyed himself, too. On Saturday, May 24, 2008, he and the other Mammut test participants tried their hand at climbing, bouldering, slacklining, bungee jumping and Tyrolean traversing. Stef Siegrist carried out a base jump from a helicopter, and the intrepid Ueli Gegenschatz completed a fearsome wingsuit flight down the Wetterhorn. This was followed by an evening meal featuring an asado and some cool unplugged music, after which people slowly switched off their headlamps. Later, Lucido helped everyone find their way back to their tents in the dark. For more on the next Testevent, please visit:
